OREGON CHIMNEY SWEEP

Description of Work: I did use Oregon Chimney Sweep here in Glendale. He (sorry, I didn't get his name) couldn't have been more helpful. Our problem was a foul smell in our fireplace and because we had heard something making a big racket in there a week or so before, we speculated that an animal had gotten in the chimney, couldn't get out and unfortunately died in there. When I explained all this, the man from Oregon said over the phone he was pretty sure he couldn't help us, because we have a 2 story "pre-fab" chimney. But he insisted on coming out anyway, went up on the roof and verified that, yes there was a small animal carcass, prob. a bird, lying all the way down in the bottom of the chimney. He said it would probably dry up and quit smelling in a few days, which is just what happened. He refused to take any money. I would highly recommend him for anyone needed chimney sweep work, based on how helpful and just plain nice he was.

Description of Work: Jerry performed an inspection of the chimney from the bottom and top. He advised of his findings and recommended a couple of options as a path-forward. He also offered several do-it-yourself tips to improve performance of the particular chimney given its design features.

Description of Work: I called to have my chimney cleaned. After inspection I was told that the chimney was not dirty and did not require cleaning. He pointed out a crack in the chimney above the roof line and recommended that it be repaired before using the chimney, and provided references to reputable chimney repair contractors. The flue damper was stuck and he unstuck it at not extra cost. I found him to be honest and knowledgeable and interested in the safety of the chimney.
