+ -1 moreHe was very kind and offered not to charge for initial inspection. He then came in and was very quick to track and solve the plumbing issue. My bathroom sink was clogged and he had to use snake to remove the clog. He was also courteous to look into the other bathroom sink, kitchen sink, the shower to check for any problems. We loved his work and would definitely recommend him to anyone else. Thank you so much!!
Description of Work: He used the snake for clearing the sink and checked all other bathroom and kitchen sinks and the shower for one of the bathroom

+ -1 moreI called Curtis Plumbing around 7am before I had to go work hoping someone would be there. Sure enough I got a live person and they were open. I scheduled a call for the end of the day after work. Both my toilets were making noise and the bathroom faucet was dripping. They came out in the time frame they gave me and I was pleasantly surprised on how concerned they were about not making a mess. They put on those shoe booties before they even stepped foot in my house. He looked at everything and told me it would cost $586.00 for everything. I agreed and it took him around 2-1/2 hours to finish. Now my home is quiet and I feel good about not wasting water. I called in the office to let them know I was very pleased. Everyone seems very nice I would recommend them to friends or family.

+ 0 moreMy opinion...they tried to cheat me. I sent them away and had someone else do the job. However, in the meantime, they wasted my valuable time.
Description of Work: I needed to swap out a defective water heater that was still under warranty. This plumber was on a list provided to me by the manufacturer. I received a quote of no more than $1,000 and that included a new pressure valve, replacement of old connectors, and expansion tank. When the servicemen arrived, the quoted me $1,300 despite the fact that they confirmed that none of the other items was necessary. Since the water heater was free (under warranty) the only charge should have been for labor (2-3 hours). I asked how much their hourly rate was and they would not tell me. I spoke to the main office and told them that this did not seem right. They agreed to take the new water heater back and not charge me for the service call. I subsequently had the job done by another company for $720, including the replacement of a bad hose. This appeared to me to be a case of "bait and switch", i.e., offering one thing to get you to hire someone and then when they get there, tell them it is something altogether different.

Description of Work: Toilet installation. They came out and looked at the site first, made sure I had the info I needed. (I wanted to purchase my own toilet and just have them install). Once I had purchased my toilet, they came back and installed it, did a good job, looks nice / functions well.

Description of Work: Replaced toilet components inside tank and feeder line from wall to tank. Then he tried to unclog kitchen sink with snake but failed to do it. He actually made the clog worse and after he split my neighbor knocked on my door and said now his kitchen sink was backed up too! He had the nerve to charge me $822.95 for the toilet repair and the unfinished work on the kitchen sink. Needless to say I did a stop payment on the check and will be paying him much less. The plumber that unclogged the sink the next day only charged me $87.50 and he even opened the y joint pipe downstairs in the garage and snaked from there. He cleaned up the mess too.

+ -1 moreOverall the work was done fairly quick and well. The price seemed high though. I only agreed b/c I was without a shower and in a hurry. I have used them before and been pleased. I think this technician was a little pushy and vague on the breakdown of costs, which makes me suspicious. He wouldn't patch up the wall afterwards, which is annoying. I had to find and pay someone else to do that.
Description of Work: Replaced broken shower valve and several feet of piping in the wall.

+ -1 moreI thought the couple times Curtis Plumbing came out became costly work. One thing he did he insisted on is lowering the pressure on the plumbing line, but now I can not get enough pressure on the upper end. I was not happy about having them lowing the pressure over my objections. I felt that Curtis Plumbing was trying to take the most money they could.

+ -1 morePlumber arrived promptly within window given to me by dispatcher. He quickly resolved the stopped up sink. He diagnosed leaky faucet and needed to go to a supply house to pickup the valve for the specialty faucet I had. The supply house was closed (Friday after Thanksgiving), but he said he would come back Monday. He arrived promptly on Monday within time window he promised and fixed faucet leak quickly. He did not make a mess (something often hard to avoid with plumbing problems), he was adept and prompt. The charge was reasonable. I will definitely use Curtis Plumbing in the future.
Description of Work: The kitchen sink was backed up and the bathroom faucet leaked. I have an older house (1938) with some specialty plumbing fixtures.

+ -1 moreThey were able to complete the job that another company was not able to do. They had a lot of skill and that knew what they were doing. They told me how it had to be done and I felt very comfortable having them do this job for me. I did feel that they were a little high on their price.
Description of Work: I had them replace some old pipes in my home with new horizontal copper piping.
