They gave me an hourly rate, which was about $100 an hour. The movers were very inefficient. The owner was really nice and he made up for most of it. After they left my bed fell apart and he had to come back and fix it. Their hospitality was good but not the work.

Ricardo visited the location to make an accurate estimate on only a few day's notice, then showed up on time with three men. The four accomplished the move with a minimum of fuss and bother, and were very careful to move in and clean up in the new place. Loading took time, because it was a challenging location (small old hillside house, steep stairs, difficult street access). Other movers were uncooperative and dodged the job, Ricardo had no problems and did his homework. Unloading was quick and easy, and thorough.

It went pretty well. Both of the guys that worked on the job were very friendly and professional. They were very careful with all my stuff, and nothing was damaged. The company confirmed the start time the night before, both by phone and email. And they showed up just slightly late because of a traffic jam. The only negative was that the job went much longer than I thought it would. I was planning on about a four-hour job, based on my experience the last time I moved. This was almost eight hours. Some of this may be due to my having more stuff than last time, but I think it was also due to the crew having a fairly low level of "hustle.
