AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION - SAN JOSE/MONTEREY

I call this company because I uses the service 17 yrs ago very nices people, the fixed my skimmer,,17 yrs ago ,3 months ago I call them again for same problem my skimmer, so.the explain to me ,the don't work in skimmer anymore,,,so I ask for any recommendations if the know someone else who can help so she send a guy name Javier and see the can help ,,,the guys can do anything because my skimmer need.to.replaced,I be the know already the I don't call for a leak so know the charge me with $650 for nothing, I guess I need to pay the guy $650 for walking around my pool this is the worst and irresponsible company I never uses the service!

They did not find the mold.

Charge is for 2 hours of work, total cost $395. The service person only spent one hour. I am sure that his equipment found no leak in the plumbing, pipes, etc. But on the pool wall, I don't think he did a thorough enough job. He only pointed out to me one area where there is a minor leak (uising dyed water that sips into a hairline crack). This hair line crack is assessible by reaching down from the ool deck. I am not convinced that there are no other areas of leak in other parts of the pool wall. I feel that $395 is overcharge for this much work.

Once they told me the price, I looked them up and saw that the price was $275, not the price of $395 that he had quoted me. Their explanation was that because I have a spa, it was more expensive. Most pools have spas attached.

They had outstanding service. They are very friendly and their prices were good.

They charged me $300 for their services. They just raised their prices. They did a very good job. They told me that they will fix the problem. I am yet to check if they did. I will use them again in the future.

They did not find the leak. They were able to tell me that it was not in the pipes. They told me it was either in the skimmer basket or the light. Since they didn't really know where the leak was, they didn't have any helpful suggestions on how to fix it nor did they really offer to do the work. In hindsight, I should not have let them leave without finding the leak, or at least not paid them. It was a waste of $275. They were very professional but I did not get the result I expected (finding the leak).

The leak detector successfully found the leak in one of the copper return pipes leading from our pool pump to our pool. Within half an hour, he had found the leak, which was under the concrete walkway surrounding our pool. He marked it with an X of duct tape. He quoted a price of $850 for fixing the leak, which included all the concrete work (taking up section of walkway), copper piping, retesting, and repouring the concrete. This company has other good reviews for finding leaks, but bad reviews on Angie's List for actually fixing them. Because of that, and the price quoted, we decided to fix the leak ourself. When we took up the concrete section, we found the leak was about a foot away from the marked spot. We still felt the service was worth it, since only a small portion of the concrete needed to be removed to fix the leak (versus the 40 feet of concrete walkway that surrounds our pool). We fixed the leak in the copper joint successfully.

THE WORKMEN CAME IN THE TIME FRAME THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY WERE THOROUGH AND FOUND THE LEAK. THE POOL EQUIPMENT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REPAIRED BY OUR POOL SERVICE.

TECHNICIAN WAS VERY POLITE, ON TIME SERVICE, THOROUGH JOB AND WELL EQUIPPED, BUT HIGH PRICE.
