They did a nice job. For them, it is like sliding off a rock. If I had something concerning any appliance, I would definitely use them. They do major appliances.

What I like best about them is that they don't mind talking to you before they come over. Because, there might be something that you could actually do yourself. Rather than show up at your house and like flip one switch that you could have flipped yourself and then you end up paying the minimum charge of like $150. They will walk you through what the options are a little bit, at least a little diagnostic work before they come over. It is hard to find.

Technician came as promised to check on dishwasher and cloth washer. Spent a good amount of time diagnosing situation. Cloth washer was fine. After we discovered dishwasher control panel was done, it was time to get a new one. Went down to showroom after couple of days and picked a new one, paid and set an appt. for installation. Installation was brisk, old unit removed, new unit tested and we are happy. Their pricing was pretty reasonable but I am at a stage where quality and experience make or break a deal.

Our oven was not working--not heating. The service person arrived at our house on time as per the previous day's scheduling. He thoroughly tested & inspected all operations of our oven & range top. Used electrical diagnostic equipment (voltmeter) to determine that there was a bad ignition unit. Replaced unit & tested oven to see that it was operating correctly. During the visit, the repair person gave many tips on oven/range operation to prevent unit misuse as well as some self-repair tips. Overall--very professional & expedient.

It went perfectly. John had told me that although he was ordering a new fan, that perhaps once he had installed the new computer board, that the original fan might start working again and that this would save us money in the part and additional labor so it would take some of the cost off the original estimate. Well, as luck would have it, that's exactly what happened. Once the computer board was put in the fan turned right back on. Thus we saved about $100. I so appreciate the honesty and integrity.

We been needing to get our washing machine fixed but we kept holding to the side. We finally took care of it and called this company and they got the job done quickly with no complications. Very happy with their service thank you

The service man called ahead and arrived when he said he would. He was quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous. I will definitely use them again.

I was given a time slot of 10am - 2pm that day. The technician called me first thing in the morning to confirm the appointment. I asked that he called me about 10-15 minutes prior to his arrival and he did that. He arrive right after 10am so that was great, since I didn't have to wait 4 hours!! The technician looked at the cook top and told me that this is mainly a maintenance issue and hopefully we won't need to replace any parts. The middle burner, however would require a part and he called to confirm if their shop had it in stock. They only had 1 of the 2 parts in stock, so I opted out of doing the repair on the middle burner. The technician proceeded to do the maintenance on the other burners and also showed me how I can do this myself and told me the do(s)/don't(s) for cook top maintenance. He also gave me a sheet for maintenance of my dishwasher too!! The maintenance was complete within the hour. I would definitely use South bay Appliance again if I had other issues with my appliances.

The refrigerator ice maker hose clogged up and overflowed due to a valve failure. This filled up everything around the ice maker and upper part of the freezer with ice including filling up the insides of the ice crusher motor. The Spears repair guys (2 of them - a journeyman and apprentice) showed up as promised. They had to make two trips since they had to order a new ice crusher motor assembly and housing which had also cracked. Everything went smoothly: they were on time, they knew what they were doing and the price was reasonable. I will use them again.

Wonderful!! To my surprise, I also received an additional warranty. If anything else goes wrong with the same appliance that they repaired, I received a credit of the money that I spent on labor on the first repair, credited towards the second one. This credit warranty goes towards ANY repair needed by this appliance. PS: I hope I got these details correct, repair was done last November....

The technician Dan showed up on time, early within the three-hour window they provided. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it, end of story. He was polite, competent and far better than the previous technician I used to fix my machine last January. I would definitely use them again. The only reason I gave a B for price was because they said that the visit would be $68, which would be put towards the repair if a one was needed. Dan diagnosed the problem, which was a faulty connection, and he was able to fix it very quickly and without ordering any parts. So I'm not sure why it was $108. I was so happy that the machine was fied (another provider told me I needed a new computer that would cost about $350!) I just paid it and didn't ask any questions. In any event, money well spent and I will most definitely use these guys again if I ever have a problem.

Dan, our service tech, was efficient and knowledgeable and stated a fill valve needed to be replaced to fix the rattling water pipes. Dan had the KitchenAid part on his truck and he repaired our dishwasher in 15 minutes - dishwasher works fine and no more rattling water pipes. Per my request, Dan suggested using a dishwasher cleaner and Lemi-shine (additive) for clearer glasses. Total cost $180.38 included $37.95 for the fill valve, $3.42 tax, $148.50 labor (includes $48.50 diagnostic fee) and $9.49 discount, which is 5% of total for being a member of Angie's List. Note: 6 months warranty on parts and labor.

I think I got them from Angies List. He was nice, friendly, and efficient.

We had set a scheduled time for 06/30/2014 between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. I recieved a call around 2:30pm letting me know that it might be closer to 4:00pm to 7:00pm. At 4:00pm they called us, and that it would be closer to 5:00pm to 8:00pm. They then called 6:00pm to let us know that its moved back to 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Finally 10 minutes to 8:00pm they called and told us they wouldnt be coming out at all. Today they offered us to come out around 3:00pm to 6:00pm, when I asked what would prevent them from rescheduling again to 4:00pm to 7:00pm they said "yes, that could happen." My point is that if they rescheduled me several different times on the original date, why would I not be first person scheduled today on 07/01/2014, she then said that "we dont have that." They may do quality work, but showing up to do the work is equally important.

He cleaned out all the junk, that had accumulated, rescrewed on the front of the machine. Was very courteous, and had a sense of humor. I would use this service again if I neded to.

Chuck has repaired our stackable washer in the past. When our dishwasher stopped emptying water we didn't hesitate to call Spears. Chuck is always cheerful and courteous. Chuck was very respectful and honest when quoting the price for the repair. We asked if we should repair or replace the dishwasher. He was thoughtful, inspected the condition and age of our dishwasher, and got a quote for the part and labor before answering. We described what we needed in a dishwasher -- just wash the dishes on a normal cycle and occasionally pots and pans settings. He told us a dollar range that we should spend for a reliable dishwasher and mentioned some manufacturers. We decided to repair our existing dishwasher. The dishwasher pump had to be ordered and Chuck returned about 10 days later. He replaced the broken pump in less than an hour. He verified the dishwasher was fixed and didn't leak. He mopped up water from the kitchen floor and from under the kitchen sink. We've had the pump replaced by a different repair service in the past that used a part manufactured outside the US. Spears used a Whirlpool factory certified part made in the US.

Service man came on time and had all things needed. Worked good and fast with a price report as he worked.

They were awesome. From the time I called them to schedule, to the follow up before the appointment as well as the technician who came out. He was helpful and informative. They will forever be my appliance repair company that I go to for help.

I was so pleased with the service provided by EVERYONE at South Bay Appliance. My Thermador oven (only 3 years old) was showing that the probe was in use and would not let me turn on anything until the probe was removed. The problem occurred after a power surge and I could not fix it with any solutions found on the internet. First, the woman who answered the phone suggested some possible solutions - which I found AMAZING since it meant there would be no repair if it had worked! Since it did not, she scheduled the service call - no charge for them coming out - they call the night before to give you the 3 hour window and were very prompt in arriving. I was totally impressed with how hard the man tried several fixes (including contacting Thermador) before coming to the ultimate conclusion that I needed a new circuit board. Fearing the worst, I was pleasantly surprised at the price quoted, which was about $200 less than I expected. They ordered the part that same day and part was installed within the time period quoted with absolutely no hassle. I had also been having problems with my dishwasher not cleaning well, and when I mentioned this to the woman on the phone, she said she would make sure the serviceman had some products with him to help that - and he did - no major repair at all - just some excellent advice on products to use to increase the cleaning power. I have been using another appliance repair company for years, but was always so frustrated because I thought they were inordinately expensive -- so glad to find this company where you get your $$$ worth! An EXCELLENT company!

This is a difficult case because we had to work with the homeowner warranty company. Overall, no one was motivated to get the problem resolved.

I contacted the provider by email, requesting service. I did not hear from them so I called them three days later. I scheduled an appointment for the afternoon of 2/15/14. I waited the full FOUR hours but NO ONE showed up or called me. I called the company and had to leave a message on their voice mail because no one answered. I think this is very inconsiderate of this provider to not show up or even call me to tell me the repairman would be late or unable to call. I will never contact them again.

We received knowledgeable assistance in the store and delivery of my new oven was performed exactly when scheduled and they left the kitchen with the tested oven in working order and no mess what so ever left in the kitchen.

Serviceman (Dan) was expert and efficient. It went very well.
