Fine. Repairman said if pressure doesn't hold up they can do a $900 dye test, but why not start with this and see if it keeps the unit working for a year or two.

worked fine after second attempt....suggested to allow fridge to defrost as there was alot of ice buildup behind the plastic panel in the freezer...unfortunately he did not advise me how to locate the defrosted water which i discovered in a plastic tray under fridge requiring the removal of part of the back panel of fridge....

My refrigerator stopped cooling on Saturday night but I didn't realize it until Sunday. On Monday I emailed this service provider at 7:50 am because they indicated on their web site they would respond to emails submitted before 9 am by 9am. I had an appointment and when I returned home at 11:30 I called the company to see if they would be able to come on Monday. They indicated that they could not come until Tuesday or Wednesday. I really wish they would have responded as stated so that I could have begun looking for another repair company sooner.

The serviceman was prompt and professional. He called in advance to confirm arrival time. The problems were fixed and I would use this company again. The stove turned out to have fixed itself much to my embarrassment - he believed the electronics got wet and after being unplugged for a week, had dried out enough to start working again. Lesson learned: Always check malfunction again right before making the call. Because I had requested repair of 2 appliainces, he had to charge my for the second appliance, although he gave me alot of good tips about keeping my older cooktop operational. The dishwasher turned out to have a piece of plastic caught in the grinder that had broken off from the upper rack. He dis-assembled and cleaned out the bottom. The entire service call took about 50 minutes.

From start to finish, from the scheduling of the apt. through finish of job, the service was excellent. The repairman was knowledgable and courteous, as was the person who set up the apt, and the confirmation, giving me a 2-3 hr window the day of the apt. , after a morning was already chosen. I would use this company again not only for repairs, but for purchases and deliveries as well. They are a one stop shop, and I wish that I had known about them sooner, as we have been living in the area for 8 years.

The repairman was prompt and diligent. I had been told I would be charged a nominal amount for a service call and given an estimate for the repair cost. If I chose to repair the refrigerator, the service charge would be applied against the repair cost. The repairman found a broken water line and showed me how brittle and aged the water line had become. He also found a slight leak where my husband had attached a new filter. He gave me a reasonable estimate to fix the refrigerator. He spent a full hour "giving me my money's worth" and examining the entire refrigerator and repairing it. He had his face in the floor most of that time and it had to have been uncomfortable. I got full explanations of everything that was wrong and I was relieved that he could fix it so quickly.

He arrived on time, was very pleasant, has done applicance repair specializing in washer and dryers for over 35 years. He has worked for the same company since 1985! He said they are always sending him for specialized training and he likes working for this company. He checked everything and drained the washer and cleaned the filter pump. Not a big problem it turns out, but given his experience and professionalism, I'd call Spears Appliance - South Bay Appliance again. (same company-one bought the other out)

Spears didn't sell us the refrigerator, but they installed it when the company that we got it from another company that refused to. We have a four level town-home in Hermosa Beach. Universal had been told about this, but when they came to deliver the refrigerator, they took a look at the stairs and said that they wouldn't be able to install it in the kitchen which is on the 3rd level. I called Spears and they sent a gentleman out to give us an estimate. Due to the tight stairway, it took four men to take it up and bring the old one down. They took the doors off both refrigerators, unhooked the old one from the water line, and hooked up the new one. It was quite an effort, but the Spears guys were up to the task and were happy and pleasant to be around the whole time. The price might seem a little high, but not to us. We've had to have couches and appliances delivered before and know what an ordeal it is. We're going to buy our appliances from them in the future.

We called up the dispatcher at Spears and told them that our refrigerator/freezer was not working at all. They asked for the brand name and model number and we were given a time the next day. The repairman came and analyzed the problem. It turned out to be some compressor wires that had some problems and he fixed them. It solved the problem, so we were satisfied with the service.

Diagnosed problem quickly, explained problem clearly and also communicated repair procedure.

I should have put the above info down here:-) I will describe the work done down here. The repairman was very nice and professional. He had to take the front of the washing machine apart to reinstall the rubber lining. He must have been here close to an hour. He arrived on time.

The receptionist was helpful and thorough. They gave me a three hour window and showed up on time. Based on our conversation, the repairman, Paul, had the correct part on the truck. He was courteous, informative and let me decide on the spot after giving me a complete estimate. So this whole repair took a little over 24 hours. Amazing.

THE OFFICE TOLD ME THAT TECHNICIAN WOULD ARRIVE BETWEEN 12 AND 3 PM AND HE ARRIVED AROUND 1:15 PM. TECHNICIAN'S NAME WAS CHESTER AND HE VERY CORDIAL AND WAS GOOD ABOUT CALLING WHEN HE WAS ON HIS WAY. THE ONLY THING I THINK WAS WRONG WAS THAT I THINK I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED LESS THAN THE $88 SINCE I PERSONALLY PROVIDED THE REPLACEMENT PART AND THE WORK ONLY TOOK SLIGHTLY MORE THAN AN HOUR.

THEY WERE NICE PEOPLE, BUT THEY COULD NEVER GET IT WORKING. THE THIRD TIME THEY SENT A DIFFERENT TECHNICIAN OUT AND HE ACTUALLY FINISHED THE JOB. SPEARS WAS FINE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THEY NEVER FINISHED THE JOB. THE QUALITY WOULD ACTUALLY BE A C. THIS PARTICULAR JOB WAS JUST TIME CONSUMING BECAUSE IT TOOK THEM A MONTH TO FINISH IT. THE PROBLEM WASN'T ELIMINATED AFTER TWO VISITS. THE THIRD TIME A DIFFERENT TECHNICIAN CAME OUT. WHILE PROFESSIONAL, IT TOOK THREE VISITS TO COMPLETE THE JOB OF FIXING IT. I WASN'T ANGRY, JUST FRUSTRATED. WHEN YOUR WASHING MACHINE ISN'T WORKING, YOU HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO WASH YOUR CLOTHES. IT WAS INCONVENIENT.

IT WAS PERFECT. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL. THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL. YOU CALL THEM, AND THEY SHOW UP WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. IT WAS JUST NORMAL.

IT WAS GREAT. THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN THEY COME OUT. THEY REPAIR THINGS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO SELL YOU SOMETHING NEW.

THE PROBLEMS WERE THAT, FOR THE WASHER AND DRYER, I DESCRIBED WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHEN THE REPAIR GUY CAME OUT, HE SAID THAT HE COULDN'T DO IT. HE SAID THAT THE JOB WAS FOR A PLUMBER. I FELT THAT THEY COULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT OVER THE PHONE SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THE VISIT. I HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE WITH MY OVEN HOWEVER. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN, BUT I WOULD BE SURE TO SPECIFY WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE SO THAT THEY WOULDN'T JUST SEND OUT A GUY TO GET THE INITIAL SERVICE FEE.

THEY WERE PROMPT, COURTEOUS, AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. WHEN I WENT TO THE STORE, AND TALKED TO THE SALES PERSON, HE ACTUALLY HAD SOMEONE COME TO MY HOUSE WITHIN FIVE MINUTES TO MEASURE. AS SOON AS THEY HAD THE PART IN, THEY CAME VERY QUICKLY TO PUT IT IN. THEY ALWAYS DO A GOOD JOB. MY MOM HAS USED THEIR COMPANY FOR HER APARTMENT, AND THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HELPFUL.

THEY WERE FINE. THEY WERE PROMPT, AND THEY DID WHAT THEY CAME TO DO. THE OLD WASHER WAS ACTING BAD SO MY HUSBAND CALLED THEM, AND THEY CAME OUT WITHIN A DAY OR SO, AND THEY INSTALLED IT. EVERYTHING WENT FINE.
