Description of Work: South Bay Appliance took FOREVER to contact me after our tenant called them to repair the Sub-Zero refrigerator. When they finally called me, their estimate kept going up the longer the woman talked. Each time I asked her a question, she asked some man in the background, and then said, "That will be an additional $125.00." I wish they were as fast on their service as they are on their billing! I would never call them again.

Description of Work: Dan fixed my dishwasher - it was backed up and not draining at all. He fixed and cleaned my OLD dishwasher, so that I can use it. He also gave me some tips on cleaning and maintaining my dishwasher. I really need a new one, but this gives me time to do the research and make a good, not a rushed decision.

Description of Work: The technician Chuck fixed my fridge ice dispenser. Although he said he hadn't seen my specific problem before, he quickly figured it out and took apart the problematic part and repaired it on the spot. It was a little expensive, but he told me ahead of time what the cost would be and I was happy to authorize him to go ahead so I could get this working again. Very competent, honest; and I would definitely use this company again.

Description of Work: Was able to repair an old oven unit that they have not made parts for in years rather than trying to find a new unit that would fit in an old space without having to remodel the kitchen. Works Great! I would highly recommend this service provider.

Description of Work: Fixed a broken latch on my dishwasher. Was told by a previous company who charged me $50 for a service call that they couldn't get parts. So. Bay Appliance not only got the parts but told me I didn't need door springs which the other company said I did need. So. Bay Appliance did a great job. My only complaint was they didn't call me when the parts came in as they said they would do and I had to follow up with them three times.

Description of Work: refrigerator not operating properly. John came the day after I called as per set schedule. After checking it out he found that Ice was causing the problem and fixed it! No parts necessary!

Description of Work: Our two year old dryer was not able to dry clothes within a reasonable amount of time. After doing my best to clear our lint from the exhaust I called Spears Applicance for help. After describing the issues we'd had and checking the dryer itself, their technician quickly determined we still had lint blocking the exhaust. After about a half hour of digging out old lint and who knwos what else, the dryer worked like new! It took a few days to have someone come out to repair the dryer but it turns out that was because their tech was on vacation. Great local small business to turn to!

Description of Work: South Bay spent hours taking out our built-in stove; then it turned out it was not worth repairing. We ended up buying a new stove and cooktop from them at a very reasonable price. Installation was very prompt and professional. We are enjoying cooking on our new appliances! I would recommend them highly.

Description of Work: called and spoke with a professional booking agent saturday morning. sadly, they were unable to get out here til tuesday. wasn't fond of the $50 diagnostic fee, but they are willing to roll it over into service fees.

Description of Work: dishwasher would not recycle water and there was standing water inside the washer.Replaced the pump drive belt which took approximetly 20 minutes. Belt cost $42.95 and the rest was labor(rather expensive). Two weeks later the same problem occurred only this time the standing water in the washer continued to rise and spill on to the floor. The only way to stop the flow was to turn off the main water line into the machine. It was obvious that a valve was sticking open. We had noticed this standing water the standing water but initialy it was not as much as before until it became excessive even to the original problem. A new solinoid valve fixed the problem . We were of the opinion that this condition was there at the time of the original problem and should have been addressed then. It was not noticed because the belt replacement removed the water , however the leaky valve continued to leak and the pump took care of it until the leakage flow increased and our normal washing cycle did not handle it. Not sure what came first but I am convinced they were both there and should have been detected on the original sevice call. Complained to management and on the second service call (about 45 minutes) we were only charged for the cost of the new valve ($55.95). A fair resolution to a sticky situation. They called it a "Senior Discount" . They obviously made a good Management Decision
