Heritage 21st Century Movers

It didn't go because this morning I received a call from Larry asking me if I was flexible on my move date and I explained that due to work commitments I was not and I had already taken the scheduled date off of work once I spoke with him last week. Well, according to Larry, AFTER he spoke to me and AFTER he had scheduled with me, "they" made OTHER insurance appointments and booked THROUGH the day I had ALREADY scheduled. I don't know what was worse, that he continued by trying to suggest other dates they had available, but he didn't even act like they had done anything wrong. When I told him I wasn't available on Saturday or Monday (again, because of work/duty commitments) he said he was sorry but they couldn't help me - guess it doesn't matter that it's Tuesday and I have to be out of my place by close of business FRIDAY. NEVER MIND that I had a SCHEDULED appointment and was told the moving date was available; was it okay for them to CANCEL AT THE LAST MINUTE because I hadn't given them money or something!? I guess I wasn't as lucrative a job so I didn't matter like the over-payments they could gouge the insurance companies. I had to hang up the phone because I was so angry and if I hadn't I probably would have started getting angrier and saying things which which, while accurate, would have been unprofessional to say/do at work. I know Heritage could care less (they made that more than obvious but I promise this - as a member of the local military community, I have and am planning on taking advantage of several forums online/in writing and otherwise on multiple bases and websites available to warn people of the heinous behavior/business practices of this company; this includes those transferring in to the San Antonio area. Again, not that it matters to them. And, please don't offer empty apologies because your sincerity doesn't excuse the predicament you've put me and my family in because you wanted to make more money - it doesn't help us in any way.

They were able to give us a 3 day window for delivery when they gave us our cost estimate. They arrived on time all 3 days - packing, loading, delivery, and finished on time. The house in Oregon has a killer driveway - steep - they called in a 4th guy and finished by the end of the day. They were friendly, courteous, thorough, and went above and beyond to help me as well so that everything got done in time.

They were wonderful! Everything arrived as it should and we were very happy with their moving services.

Arrived on time and walked our house to see what we wanted moved. We're very efficient.

Everything went well. They did the work as promised.

Everything on the California end was great. Carol, the estimator, was professional and accurate. The movers and packers showed up on time, the packers were particularly nice. The driver gave me his cell phone number in case I needed to reach him. I had interviewed a number of movers and decided to go with them in part because they could get the furniture to NC faster than the others but also because Carol was so thorough in going over the details with me and responded faster than the other companies. The overall experience was great with one big caveat: they were two days late delivering the furniture. The plan was to deliver on Thursday or Friday. When I called the driver on Wednesday to find out what time the truck would be at our house, he was under the impression that someone from their (Wisconsin?) headquarters had already called me. Apparently, the company told the driver to make another stop so my furniture wouldn't be arriving until Sunday. I called Carol and to her credit she didn't pass the buck and promised to look into it. She called headquarters and yes, another stop had been added. There was really nothing I could do about it. It stipulated in the contract that they would reimburse me $150 per day in related expenses for each day I had to wait. A woman from headquarters called me and apologized and promised to reimburse me as soon as possible, after receiving my receipts. I did get a check in the mail promptly. On the plus side, the furniture arrived at 8:00 on the dot Sunday morning. Nothing was broken and nothing was missing, from as far as I've been able to tell, which is really what matters most to me.

We were very pleased with them. They were the only ones who came out and gave us an estimate.

She was very friendly and professional "DURING" the appointment saying she would follow up in a couple of days. When we had questions, we tried to reach her via email and by phone. She "NEVER" returned out tries. We even contacted the National Headquarters for Wheaton Van Lines and she wouldn't return their calls either! We used use Wheaton Van Lines again, but not this particular movers!!

It was excellent. They used a subcontractor called Wheaton Van Lines. From the person that came out to the estimator to the receptionist, they were extremely friendly. The team that moved us was excellent. They were very competitive in price. Top notch service.
