Gutierrez & Son's Tree Service and Landscaping

Can’t go wrong with hiring Gutierrez and Sons for your landscaping and tree trimming needs! I had a severely overgrown tree in my back yard that was covering 1/3 of my yard space and was as tall as the apartment building next door. Within minutes the work crew was up and cutting down the tree and were done faster than expected! They cleaned up , leaving me with no worries about what to do with the branches. Great team!!

This company really came through. They were tasked with dealing with the City permits, removing a 30-foot tree and were great to work with. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. A+

I hired this company to remove a large pine tree that was dying on my property. They were negligent, irresponsible and reckless with my property. Please see pictures I have video camera footage but it does not allow me to upload. They tried to remove a 15 foot trunk in one piece and dropped it on my fence. Thank God it didn't hurt one of the workers or my house since it was less than 15 feet away. The worst part is that I came home an hour after this happened to destruction of my property and had not received a call from the owner. When I called him to tell him what happened he said it's a mistake and they happen and they would fix the fence. He did not apologize, he tried to minimize the situation was condescending and was upset that I was upset about the destruction of property! They did try to find replacement parts for the fence but were unable to. I have called the company that installed the fence to begin with and they are coming to fix it. In summary if you have a large tree that needs removal,DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Workers showed up when scheduled and did a thorough job, and checked to make sure I was satisfied.

Similar to another review, it started great with prompt response and an on time and professional visit for an estimate. They said the estimate would come in the next day or two. I followed up 4 or 5 days later and never received a response back. This was almost 2 weeks ago. Waste of time.

I requested a quote via Angie's List email and got an IMMEDIATE response (good start, yeah, but don't get excited). The estimator came out three days later, as arranged, and said they would email a quote. Four days later I sent an email asking for the estimate--no answer. Nine days after that, I sent another email to say they should let customers know if they don't want to do a job. Still no answer. They are always leaving advertising on my doorstep. They should use some of that soliciting energy for responding to people who are actually interested in their services.

There was poor communication between whoever came out to sell me the job. We did not communicate and as a result they were taking off all the limbs of the tree which I didn't ask for. I only asked for them to tap the tree which they did once I noticed they weren't doing it; they only did it to one tree because I saw what was going on.

The men were very professional, arrived on time, did the job quickly and well. But more than that even ... the company was so understanding and helpful. I made the mistake of scheduling the tree removal at the same time as an important placement test for my child. Mr. Gutierrez was very gracious and asked the gentlemen to take a 1 hour break so that my child could take the test without noise. He didn't charge me any extra. I was blown away by the kindness. I consider myself a loyal lifetime customer.

They were immediately available at my convenience to provide their estimate. The estimate seemed reasonable and I didn't solicit any other bids, so keep that in mind. On the day of the services, the crew was prompt, courteous, efficient and hardworking. I was completely satisfied with the results.

Gutierrez responded quickly to the job inquiry and arrived early the next morning for an estimate. The job was commenced and completed that very day. Hard-working crew with good English communication skills. Work was completed correctly and cleanup very thorough. This outfit is on the ball!

We needed to replace 4 cypress trees that were cut down mistakenly by a neighbor - the neighbor paid for the work, hence no feedback on price. The work was very professionally done, on time, with excellent responsiveness in the scheduling of work, and follow up. One of the tree did not stay straight, and the company came out 3 times to fix them with just a couple of days notice. Would definitely use again.

Very good! They were quick and efficient, the tree's branches were almost on the ground but they were done within a hour.

It went fine. The estimator came out quickly, understood the job, endgame a firm bid which I accepted. Two men worked four hours as predicted, were very cooperative and did just what I asked for. Very professional.

Two thirty-foot birch trees toppled, overnight during high wind event, landing toward and partially on my neighbors house. Trusting Angie's List reviews, I called them at 6:00am expecting to leave voice message. But my call was answered by an employee and by 8:00am a full crew was already working at my house. Filled with anxiety about potential damage to neighbors' house, embarrassment because the trees had died a year ago and I kept putting off doing something about it, I was a bit of a wreck. But the man who gave the estimate was incredibly professional and kind. And the crew worked fast, even helping my wonderful neighbor with a few tree limb trimmings for no charge and they took away every bit of debris. Best of the best from first call to job completion. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again!

Great, the guys came early and very professional. The guy gave a terrific quote. What surprised me the most was that after they cut down the trees they removed all the dead leaves that pre existed. Now that is service. Great job! So happy that we went with them.

On time to give the estimate and I was able to get same day service. They ran 30 min late coming from another job, but they did communicate to me the information. The guys worked hard, we very polite and did remove all debris. Would hire them again for sure!

Mario and his team did an outstanding job, and basically finished a 2-3 day job in just over a day. To finish on time, Mario doubled up his crew through most of the day and then had his second crew stop by to help finish off the front for the last hour and a half. I plan on having Mario and his team come every January to keep our place shining through the year. Thank you Mario and Gutierrez & Sons.

They showed up on time and worked hard. Communication could have been better, and I thought their price was fair, but not a good deal.

No respect for neighborhood or my house. They do not listen to my request. Flyers/advertisements litter neighborhood. Last resort will be to report them to proper authorities.

I called Gutierrez and Son's on Saturday, July 23rd to get an estimate. I left a message, but wasn't expecting to reach anyone since it was Saturday. Someone from the company returned my call the same day, but I missed the message. I returned the call on Monday, July 25th. We made an appointment for a representative to come out to give me an estimate at 9:00 on Saturday, July 30th. Everything was fine up until that point. However, no one showed up on the 25th, and no one called to cancel or explain. I called the company twice that day, but could not reach anyone and did not receive a return call. I then called the company on Monday, August 1st to find out what happened. The person I spoke to said his son had made the appointment, and he didn't know what happened. He apologized and offered to come out the next day, but I was not available. We scheduled a second appointment for Wednesday, August 3rd at 5:00. When I gave him my address again, he kept asking if I lived in El Segundo. I told him it was a South Los Angeles address. He confirmed my zip code. The person who made the prior appointment did the same thing. No one showed up the second time. I made sure to make it home an hour before the scheduled appointment in case they were early. No one called. I called the company three times to find out what happened. No one answered, and no one ever returned my call. Since the company had so many positive reviews, I called a final time on Thursday, August 4th to ask if they wanted to explain what happened or try to rectify the situation before I posted my review. It is August 17th. No one has called to offer an explanation. That is remarkably unprofessional conduct. While the business is located less than 10 minutes from my house, it appears as if they did not want the job based upon my address. However, they simply could have declined to do the estimate instead of failing to show up on two occasions. Again, their conduct was strikingly unprofessional. I am truly surprised to see this company has an A rating.

The initial phone call and initial visit were professional, responsive and timely. But, for some reason, after he came to review the property, he never got back to us with an estimate. After a couple of weeks, I called and he said he would send the estimate ... never did. Haven't heard from them since. Have no idea what this was about, but it was very strange, to say the least.
