I called Val with an urgent request to pour a rather large area of concrete within a couple of days. Val came right out to meet me that day and submitted a proposal within about 24 hours. He was very professional in a followup call to walk me through the proposal. He was able to fit me into his schedule within a week of accepting his proposal (on the specific days I requested). His crews worked on a Saturday to get the job done at no extra cost. Each day, rain and wind threatened cancelling the pour, but Val and his crew of about 10 guys worked it out and was able to get the pour done quickly and efficiently over the course of 2 days. They came back the following day to sawcut the joints. Val has a great eye for laying out control joints. He was able to create a pattern in our asymmetric space that looked very natural. We received exceptional service at a very good price. I would definitely call them for another job.

An automobile ran into the corner of a retaining wall at the front of our house. Insurance required an itemized estimate. We were also interested in some additional work, including driveway, recapping brick on retaining walls, new sidewalk, and steps. Val of Falkon Construction came out, provided us with very detailed estimate for the insurance repair, and listened to our other requests. He promptly supplied separate estimates for insurance and the additional work. We decided to do the insurance work first and complete some other projects before contracting the driveway, retaining walls, and steps. Val and his team began work the following week. Unfortunately, it began to rain while they worked, but they covered the work area with a tarp and continued until the job was finished. The result was outstanding. It was apparent during the work and in the result; Val and his crew take pride in their work and the results. In our experience, this very rare quality has been absent in the construction trades for many years. It was pleasure doing business with Falkon Construction and we will certainly hire them for future projects.

Val and his team did a great job. I had shopped around, and Val's price was very competitive. He found stone that matched the existing wall, even though the wall was about 20 years old. He and his team completed the work in a day, made sure I was happy, and cleaned up the site completely before they left. Val is very professional and took the time to explain everything in detail. I would definitely recommend Val and will use him again.

Val was patient while I obtained Association approval which took awhile. Once I contacted him with the go aheas, he emailed me a contract with a start date. His crew worked clean and quick. The completed the job in just a few days and left the place perfect. Val communicated well with me and used email which I perfer. Thanks Val

Contractor scheduled an appointment a few days after initial call to give estimate. He supplied several estimates as design changes and material selections were determined. He provided material samples to finalize costs. Coordinated with landscape designer during the pricing process. Start date and time were set after material selections were finalized. This was confirmed the day before the start date and contractor and his team arrived as scheduled. Contractor and his team were all wonderful to work with, walked us through the process and any questions that surfaced along the way were answered immediately. The major part of this project was completed ahead of schedule and contractor returned for 1 day in order to replace pots and other outdoor items back onto the concrete.

Val, Charlie, Lau, Masse and the others involved all did a GREAT JOB! These guys are really good. Very meticulous and seem to truly care about how it turns out. When we removed the old driveway we found very strange clay earth underneath would move like jello when you walked on it. No one I spoke to had ever seen anything like it. Val and his team took it all in stride turning all of the earth over and adding aggregate, etc. to make it very stable again. The additional charge for everything they had to do was extremely fair. I've known contractors who see a situation like that as an opportunity to cash in because they know you have to pay it to keep moving forward. Val is very fair and I would recommend Falkon whole heartedly!!!

It was planned that this would be a short, 2 -3, day job. The excavation phase of the project proceeded quickly and smoothly. However, after the excavation the the city had several problems with the drawing specs (as to soil compression). With the effort required to satisfy the city inspectors the job grew from 2 - 3 days to approximately 3 months. During this whole time Val (the owner of FALKON) did his best to help me get the project through the city's bureaucracy. Even though the permit was not part of his contract, he made several trips to the city when I couldn't to talk to the inspectors to try to expedite the process. He hung in there during this time and was very helpful in making suggestions on how to satisfy the city. When the city finally approved the pouring of the concrete Val's people did it very quickly and professionally.

Highly Recommended. This is so far the best experience we've had, and we went through a fair share of renovation projects which ranged from nightmarish (very often) to borderline ok (sometimes). Val, Falkon's contractor, and his team proved to us that you can still find HONEST AND RELIABLE contractors in Los Angeles area, and believe us we've given up a long time ago. Everything was top notch starting from customer service and ending with taking care of small things after the job. From the beginning, Val, Falkon's contractor, was courteous and fair with his pricing. We went through several revisions of the scope of the job and hence the pricing, and Val was extremely patient and went through every single detail of the project. I really liked the fact that not only Val was available via phone but he was also highly responsive via e-mail. It helped move things along: we were emailing each other comments, pictures of possible stones, lists of things that needed to be done. Then his crew came along. Confident, quiet and efficient. Everything is done by code and the best possible way. When they ran into problems they would present us with a list of possible solutions, let us decide and only then move along. (Most contractors we've dealt with cut corners and plowed along without notifying us of the choices made) Like I said, every single detail is discussed so there were no surprises. Val was involved in every decision, he was in constant communication with me and his foreman, Charlie, and he was on site EVERY SINGLE DAY. Go with these guys, you won't be disappointed. And Val and Charlie, you are THE ROCK STARS. Thank you for our beautiful patio and porch.

Excellent service, we were under time constraints to accomplish the job, Val was extremely accomodating, worked with our schedule and made it happen

I searched Angie's List for brick masons in my area and contacted three by email, explaining it was a small job. The first contractor to call me back said he might be able to schedule it some time next week, but he wouldn't know until next week, and it would cost $300. The next day Val Mataele from Falkon Concrete and Masonry contacted me by phone, and offered to send the next day a young skilled mason named Elias for $200, none of which he (Val) personally would keep. I agreed. Elias turned up on time, assessed the job, made a quick trip to buy mortar, finished the job in less than two hours, and it looks great. Elias said that the area would be set enough to be walked upon in 24 hours, so I put an inverted plastic tub over the area to protect it. Both Elias and Val were a pleasure to deal with, polite, kind and knowledgeble.

I am very happy with the work that was done. Val came out and gave us a good bid on the job to replace an uneven concrete pad and replace it with pavers and extended it out so my husband will not have to bar-b-que in the dirt. Val and his crew did a wonderful job and I will hire him again if I need some additional hardscaping done.

Val was incredibly professional and helpful. His crew demoed and removed a large concrete driveway in one day. Although an unavoidable mess was created with the Bobcat rolling back and forth on dirt all day, the area was spotless once the job was complete. The worker didn't have a precise tool get get at a couple of small and hard to access corners, but he came back the following day to perfect these areas as well. Even after the job, Val continued to help by providing contacts for contractors outside his area of expertise for the other phases of my project. I wouldn't do another job without calling Falkon Concrete first.

It was the highest estimate that we received and it seemed a bit high. Though cost was a part of it, we went with another company that actually works with the door company and they need to coordinate. We found that company and that is why we opted for it. We probably wouldn't want to pay that price. He could have tried to reduce the prices if he could but he was always very responsive. If we had other work, I would call him again.

We were very pleased with the quality of the work. Falkon fastened the steel tie braces firmly in place. Val Mataele, the owner of Falkon, was courteous, prompt, and dependable.

We needed to remove old concrete so that we could begin to landscape - we were told that we would have to use a jackhammer and that it would be pricey. We gave Val the measurements and thought he could price from that but he insisted on coming out to see what the work was and to ask us questions. Not only did he say the job would not require a jackhammer, (so much easier on neighbors & us), but that it could be done quickly on a Saturday morning. When we eventually install pavers and fix our driveway we will definitely use Val as he is not only professional but also pleasant and honest. (I wrote the check incorrectly - in Val's favor - but he called us about an hour later after he noticed the error and refunded the difference)

Very happy with the job Leeds did. Val answered my call for a estimate the same day and e-mailed the bid to me that night. I called him and accepted his bid,he then e-mailed me a copy of contract and we were set to go. Crew came out on time on Monday did demolition built forms and set rebar. Crew came back on time Tuesday,poured concrete did finish and clean up. My wife was home both days and was very pleased with the crews courtesy,work ethic (no standing around) and clean up. My wife's not easy to please (believe me). Leeds is a very professional and competent contractor. (this is NOT some handyman using day labor) I recomend them for any cement work you need done. I definitely would hire them again.
