The job that they did was terrible. It didn't pass inspection. They had to come out to fix it again, but still didn’t pass inspection. My roof is still not fixed and I do not want to deal with them again. I want others to know they should not use this company and it seems as if they are running a scam on consumers.
Description of Work: I had them replace my roof.

The $10,000 contracted figure here does not account for the thousands more we are spending to ameliorate the damage done to our home by this contractor and his son. One consultant called their work "Mickey Mouse," another called it a "Hack Job." In addition to overall crude and unworkmanlike quality of work, this contractor insisted he had contacts within the county who would "waive the requirement" of an additional permit for the raised area over our den which the first county inspector informed him of. The contractor's son, whose team of helpers did 98% of the job, instructed me to cooperate with the final inspector who, indeed, did not mention this permitting issue on the day he passed/finalized the roof. If I had not blown the whistle regarding this question of obtaining an additional permit, our roofer would've been happy and relieved. However, after inquiring of the inspector as to why he did not evaluate their work on this un-permited structure, the inspector failed the inspection, and the roofer stopped showing up and would not answer phone calls. When they disappeared, they left large openings in the new structure that vermin could occupy and three uncovered areas we had to tarp (at 6AM) during rain. We finally resorted to sending a registered letter to demand they finish the work. I wish we had simply fired them and torn off the structure in question, as it most definitely detracts from our home's value and appearance; as well, it has/will continue to cost us additional monies to correct and complete. Also astonished that the county inspectors passed this job (TWICE) when multiple issues remained uncompleted: exposed tar paper/missing shingles (the first time it "passed"), exposed nails, unsealed corners, perforated shingles, worn & sub-par shingles, unsealed ductwork nails, unprimed wood, unpatched stucco and ductwork with no mesh screen. As well, numerous rafters and fascia boards were cracked by errant nails. Inspectors explained it is not their job to comment on workmanship, therefore the contractor's use of dull saw blades, unmeasured wood pieces tacked together (and some not even tacked, which fell off when we primed), use of particle board for spacers between fascia, unpatched stucco, and wide gaps between the existing structure and the new wood... were of no concern to them. At final payment, roofer agreed that it would be fair to deduct $1500 from his contracted price. We decided two days later to only deduct the $300 cost of a 'surprise' engineering report which the county required, as it was not part of the original contract, hence, we paid the entire amount contracted; yet, the roofer then had his supplier serve us by mail with a mechanic's lien for $7,000.
Description of Work: Roof tear-off and haul-away; new radiant barrier sheathing, "30 year" composite shingle; blown-in insulation, and a 12" build-up over a den to enclose R-30 rolled insulation, braced all around by 1x12" facia board. They began on 10/30/2012; final "inspection" was 11/29/2012.
