I was extremely pleased with the service. The reason I chose this mover was because they specified that they would do small jobs. They have a 4 hour minimum, but said that would probably be able to do the initial move in two hours and the second part of the move in the remaining two hours, and charge me the $200 for 4 hours. However, the second half of the move took slightly longer, due to the need to apply felt pads to all my furniture and more carefully place it on the new hardwood floor. These movers took amazing care, setting up a "staging area" at the top of the stairs where thick moving pads were put on the floor. Each piece of furniture was placed there and the felt pads were put on before the furniture was moved into place. I had purchased felt pads in advance, but when we ran out, they had some in their truck and provided them free of charge. So the additional $50 charge was for the extra hour it took to do this very careful move, and well worth it. There was no damage at all to the new floor.
The movers were very professional and the owner Mike is very eager to please his customers. He called to follow-up with me and see if I was completely satisfied. There were two small issues. I have three floor and it is extremely difficult to move large furniture up and down the three flights of stairs, so slight problems always occur. In this case, the corner of my couch was dirtied in the move, however, Mike said I should call a professional upholstery cleaner and he would pay for any costs. Turned out I was able to clean it myself, so all was well. We also had some confusion over the time of arrival on the final moving day, but when they arrived, they did a superb job.
I would definitely use this moving company again.
It didn't go well at all. First of all there was no contract. Secondly, on July 30, I was told to find my own storage facility when I had been told that my possessions would be placed in Diversified's storage. This was a last minute change which I didn't appreciate and an added expense.
The packers came on 7/30/14 and packed my books which is what I wanted them to do. In addition, they packed my medication which I told them not to pack. Regarding my clothes, I was told that the movers would use a wardrobe box the next day & would wrap the framed art on the walls. Pat was the lead packer and she showed me a piece of paper w/the number of boxes used. I wasn't given an invoice.
The movers came the next day and they did an incomplete job. They didn't pack my clothes in the wardrobe or put my shoes at the bottom of the wardrobe. They left a piece of framed art on the wall meaning they forgot to take it. The bottom trim of my dresser was detached from the dresser and not reported to me. I only saw this when the dresser was put in storage. After my items were moved to the storage facility, I asked the lead mover about returning to my home to get my clothes and a bookcase and he said we'll have to charge you overtime. I was charged overtime because of the hour the movers took for lunch. I don't believe that the consumer is responsible to pay for lunch time. While the movers were putting my items in storage, I saw that they had not used shrink wrap on several pieces of framed art or on a bookcase so I asked them to shrink wrap these items. I don't know if they did a good or bad job of packing the storage locker. I had to rent a second storage locker because there wasn't enough room in the first locker. The lead mover asked for my credit card information which I gave him and he gave the information over the phone.
I called the owner of the company to express my displeasure about the way the movers treated my possessions and that they didn't take everything to storage. Upon my return home, three friends came over and we spent about 6 hours moving the remaining items from the house to the garage. This was unacceptable that we had to spend so much time to get the rest of my stuff out of my house.
On Fri 8/1/14, the owner of Diversified came w/another person and packed up what we had boxed up the night before and also went inside to get a bookcase. We went to the storage facility and they placed the items in my locker. The owner asked me for my credit card information and I objected because I gave the information the day before and I didn't want to be charged twice. Then there was the issue of returning the key used to unlock the dolly. I didn't have the key & the movers were long gone by the time we realized the key was missing.
I was really fed up with the amount of work that I had to do to get the items left in the garage ready to move to storage. I found shoes, boxes of family history items, and other items of importance. I was astounded at how my possessions were treated. I'm angry that my clothes were not placed in a wardrobe. I'm upset that I had to pay for storage above and beyond what I paid for the packing and moving.
Even though the owner came on Friday to pick up the items that my friends and I had packed, I'm not satisfied with the way I was treated by the movers. When I asked them to complete the job by going back to get the bookcase & clothes, they didn't want to. I wasn't given a contract stating what the packers and movers would do. The move didn't go smoothly and the packers packed items that they were told to leave alone. I was very distressed by the experience I had w/Diversified movers and won't use them to move my items out of storage. It was heart wrenching to see my possessions treated poorly and that my items weren't given adequate protection as Diversified said it would provide.
I sent Diversified an e-mail regarding my experience with their service and have not received a response. I want Diversified to compensate me for the cost of the storage which they said they were going to provide and to refund my money for their very poor, dismal service.
"Mrs. Susan [removed member name], Sorry to hear you did not have a good experience with our company, However, my staff came over to pack your stuff is not our responsibility to go through every piece of mail or every piece of paper you had in your apartment, you had your apartment stacked with papers almost all the way to the ceiling and could not make up your mind on what you wanted to take. you want it to go through each peace of paper and each plastic bag full of paper which would of taken and eternity to do. Also my staff packed every you told them to pack. In addition the had to put up with the extreme unhealthy stench coming out your apartment We never pack you medicine its common sense, We never pack any body's meds. You said your friend packed your medications, I was nice enough to go back to your place the next day to help you look for them As you lie and said we pack your medication it's something we never do! In regards to your storage, we offer to store your items in our location and you said you would get your own storage so you can have access your items any time. you want it. you also mention you were on a budget and said it would be cheaper if you got your own storage. Your apartment was so full of trash and old furniture the conditions were unhealthy. My staff helped you as much as they could and even help you giving medication when you were having seizures. At the end of the move I gave you a huge discount which obviously you did not appreciate, since your payment decline twice. I had to come over to your new property and begged you to pay us. You turned around and give us this horrible review it's not fair. I'm ok if you told the truth but you lie about everything, once again it's not fair putting up with the unhealthy stench"

In your review you state that the driver got pulled over coming back from Nevada. We only service California, we used to go out of state 2 years ago but not any more. In addition all our drivers are monitor by the Department Of Transportation, no goes out on the road unless the driving record is clean & our trucks meet the DOT regulations. All drivers must submit to random Alcohol and drug testing. In our company all drivers and helpers meet all the standards and regulations of the DOT. Also you mention the fact the packer could not fit everything in a pensky truck. We do not rent trucks, we have our own company trucks. [member name removed] I don't know whom you dealt with but, I can assure you it was not any of our staff members, We are a small company we know all our clients by name, since it's just me and my assistant Pat giving estimates on site. I have never meet you or done business with you. I would really appreciate it if you could remove this review since is obvious that is not our company who had anything to do with your move.
