Chandler's Roofing

I called Chandler's for this small job on my manufactured home. I was scheduled for an estimate later the next week (mind you this is late October when all roofing companies are being deluged prior to the El Nino event). They showed up on time, showed me pictures of the damage, gave me an excellent lesson on roofing (HGTV freak that I am) and said they would put me on the small repair schedule list. That meant that if the weather were too dicey to start a large project they worked on the less time consuming, smaller jobs. I was warned that this could take up to 6 weeks, but again, if I had thought of doing this in the summer, the repairs would have been sooner and cheaper. One week later they called with a small window of opportunity opening later that day, which I was able to grab. The repairs took longer than I expected, but I was still only charged for the estimate. No additional surprise costs. It rained pretty hard two days later and the skylight re-seal seems to be holding quite well. Clearly, I will be looking for a new roof next year. All staff from Chandler's were professional and easy to work with. All of our questions were taken seriously and answered adequately. We were very impressed with how hard the people worked to complete our job, and how much they tried to accommodate our comings and goings. They did a super quality job, and cleaned up completely each day before leaving for the day. They also went out of their way to fix a small area of the roof that needed extra attention due to electrical access issues by the city. Even when the job was done, they returned to take care of any requests. It has been two years since the job was done, and we are very satisfied with our roof. Price was more than our other estimates, but we feel that the quality was worth it. Also, Chandlers maintains a relationship with you ongoing via emails, etc, which I appreciate. A good company.

The estimate was middle of the road. It was provided in reasonable time frame. The work began on date as promised. The crew was very professional and the quality of work was excellent. They came on time and cleaned up before leaving every day. Originally the estimate was for replacement of specified length of fascia boards and installation of gutters . But when they inspected my roof, they found that there was water damage near the edge of roof where it is slopping. They explained to me that it needs to be repaired and I was given the cost of it right away. There was no attempt to sell me anything more. I was pleased with their approach and honesty. The cost of additional work required was also very reasonable. I have experienced before where the contractor tries to scare you into doing more work and poor homeowner having already started with the contractor has to make very tough decision. Their back office support is excellent and communication was fast. They would not do anything more than written in contract which is fine and understandable. But in my case there were 8 beams which needed to be cut. It was not mentioned in the contract that the exposed surface should be painted and I had missed that part in reading the contract. It should have been pointed out to me earlier. It makes sense that if you cut the beams the exposed surface should be painted. The work was not really that much and I took care of it myself later on. I requested the person working to paint and they refused saying that it was not in the contract. Technically correct but should be done as it completes the job. Overall, I am very pleased and definitely would recommend them.

They did great work. Got it done quickly and cleanly. Perhaps not the cheapest, but good quality.

The start date was initially pushed back due to weather which I found frustrating, but out of anyone's control. Once the job began things progressed quickly and smoothly. The crew was very professional and did great work. It was discovered during work that parts of the sub roof needed to be replaced which increased the cost, but was not a huge surprise to me as I suspected parts of the roof had been neglected and were in bad shape.

Chandler's Roofing is great at communicating, scheduling and service. They arrived on time, did a great job, and I was very pleased.

Chandler's is top notch. Daniel Marchand who leads the team is great and his attention to detail is amazing. Chandler's was clean, efficient, on-time and the materials used were top grade. We'd have them back any time. We also added solar panels through Chandler's as a separate project. Better to have all the warranties in the same place and the same team to work with in case anything happens. We're saving a lot of money on electricity!

It was very hard to find anybody for that work because my whole roof and the asphalt roof were joined. They did a very good job. My only complaint was it was a very long wait. I really think they didn't want to do it because it was a very small job. They had a lot of large jobs. Instead of telling to do it, they just said to me to wait. That I didn't appreciate. As far as the work they did, it was just fine. I'd give them A on the work but it was an excessively long wait.

They did a good job but they were a little slow and hard to schedule with.

The project went very well. Daniel and his team were true professionals. Extremely courteous and thoughtful. I'm very happy with the high quality of work they provided. The roof looks great.

The administrative staff was excellent and the agent who gave me my first estimate was attentive and explained everything in a believing and excellent way. I would recommend this contractor and their services to anyone.

Ultimately, I didn't go with this contract for the following reasons: 1. Out of the 5 quotes I received they were $1000 more to the closest bidder. 2. Main selling tactic was that they are a preferred roofer for GAF. 3. To many open variables on the quote. Other quotes that I received (more than 1 quote) included permits and wood replacement as needed. 4. They charged me for a porta-potty. 5. They had the longest completion time.

I was very hesitant at first to spend such a large amount on my roof but decided to go with Chandlers because they offer a superior product of IB ply roofing which is impervious to water and they are very experienced with mid century modern roofs. They did an amazing job and the crew was very experienced. I also had 3 skylights added which are beautiful. Getting a new roof is very stressful but worth it in the end. I would recommend Chandlers if you never want to do your roof again and want a Ferrari of a roof for your home. The IB roof is already keeping my home cooler inside and it looks very sharp. The team pays attention to detail and is very open to answering questions.

As I have had nothing but problems with a flat roof that covers my garage (only), I didn't want to cut corners on it this time around. I did quite a bit of research on this product (IB PVC Roof System) and on local roofers and went with the IB Roof and Chandler's because of their reputations. I had originally wanted to go through some heavy rains to test my new roof before I supplied a review, however since we are in the middle of a drought, I decided to go ahead and write a review based on the limited experience that I have had. We have had a little rain since it was installed and it has done its job so far. My dealings with Chandler's were very positive and professional. The representative that I worked with directly was Ricardo Diaz. Ricardo was very personable, knowledgeable, and professional. Once they started on the project they were quick, seemed very thorough, attentive to details, and they kept my property clean and tidy. The only small issue that I had with Chandler's was trying to pin down my initial project start date. However, I was very pleased with them in all other areas and understand that due to the nature of their work and unpredictable weather, projected project dates are a moving target. I would definitely recommend Chandler's Roofing and use them again for any roofing needs.

I recently had taken out my chimney and added some sheet metal to my cap, sealed it up, etc...I had Chandler come out to give me an estimate on doing a proper cap. The person that came out was honest with me and felt that the existing cap was sufficient. Thus he did not recommend doing anything further, creating a new custom cap, etc... I have actually had them out twice, once to look at the roof, both times they were great.

Chandler's Rofing installed my new asphalt shingle roof about 8 years ago. I initially decided to use them because they are a local company (San Pedro) and have been in business for many years here (which is not so common). They did a great job not only reshingling my roof, but built 'crickets' to divert the water away from low points to prevent leaking around the fireplaces and skylights, which we had experienced for many years. They are not the cheapest roofers, but who wants cheap on a roof. What I want is for the roof NOT to leak and to protect everything under it. After I called Chandlers for a roof maintenance in January, they made an appointment for an inspection a short time later and told me it would probbly be 6-7 weeks before the work would be done. They finally did the work on April 2, which was okay with me as we had no water intrusion problems. I believe they did a fine job, which took about 3 hours, and I will definitely have them do another roof tuneup in a few years to keep my roof 'healthy'. I highly recommend Chandler's Roofing.

Everything went great. On time, truthful and good to work with.

The workers when they came did a very professional job. My problem was I bought the contract at the end of Jan. and I had to keep calling to see where I was on the list, they didn't call me. They finally put me down on list and then they came in three days. I still have another job for them and they at least have it scheduled for March 16th.

Excellent customer service, answered all our questions, eager to help us decide on what type of roof to choose. Men who worked on the roof were knowledgeable, friendly, hard-working, and did an excellent job. They always cleaned up after each day's work, and did an extra special job of cleaning after the job was done. There was always a foreman on the job, and the person who sold us the roof dropped by each day to check on progress (took 5 days). The company sends out a newsletter regularly as well, and will help with any care the roof needs in the future.

They were local and they responded quickly. They got on the property and looked on the job. They set the job and got it done.

Blake came out on time to do the initial quote. I was immediately impressed because he walked on the roof to get a better look at the job and offered to clean up the protrusions with mastic. I had another highly rater provider come and give me a quote before Blake, and they did not walk on the roof, or offer to clean up the protrusions. I received an email quote promptly. I was again impressed because the quote was several pages long and very detailed. For example, the quote said that Chandlers would be 100% responsible for keeping the job site clean and safe during the project. When it came time to schedule the work, there was a small hiccup due to weather, which was out of their control. But Chandler's rescheduled promptly. Ernesto and his crew came out on time and did an excellent job. The job was supposed to take 2 days. On the first day, Ernesto and his crew stayed well past their quitting time meticulously cleaning my yard of all roofing debris. I found some small granules of tar from the shingles, but that was it! The work finished promptly the second day. Blake came out to take a look. The job quote did not increase and I was very happy with the work. A week after they finished, we had a heavy rainstorm and so far, no leaks! I would use this company again and recommend them.

Abel and Andy were the workmen and Ricardo was first contact who wrote our contract and coordinated the project. The men worked for 2 and a half days on our 2nd story tile roof. They were true professionals in every sense of the word. We highly recommend them.

Project supervisor Mr. Marchawd, polite, professional and explained every step clearly. All workers arrived on time, polite and very well organized; they did excellent work.

If you ever need roof repair, contact Chandler's roofing because they have the best price/quality/workmanship/customer service in South Bay. Chandler's roofing provided excellent quality of workmanship and customer service. I also have excellent experience dealing with the following individuals: 1) Nicole always answer my questions in a friendly and professional manner 2) Blake came to my house twice to answer additional questions that I had before I finally chose Chandler/s roofing 3) Foreman Abel and his assistant Andy did an excellent job repairing and cleaning the roof afterward.

The work was not really tested, because there was not that much rain. As of now, it appears to be terrific. We are planning to call them back for some minor issues.
