BARTEL'S APPLIANCE

First American Home Warranty company sent out Bartel's Appliance company in Sept., 2013 to fix a broken burner in the two-year old cook top in our vacation home. The Bartel technician (the owner) lifted the cook top up by himself to diagnose the problem. He came back another day to fix the burner, arranging to do so on my last day in Placerville before returning to my primary residence in southern California. He asked me to lift the cooktop with him as it really is a two person job, so I did so. However, after fixing the burner, he put the cook top back without my assistance. I left later that day for my primary residence and when I returned a month later noticed I saw a large stress crack in the glass cook top. I notified Bartels but they refused to take responsibility. My home warranty company submitted a claim to Bartels' insurance company, Hartford, but they said Bartel's coverage does not extend to damage Bartels does while on the job. So that means they have no coverage for this AND they refuse to take responsibility!!! And they were extremely rude over the phone, as reviewers on Yelp have noted. Frankly, I've never dealt with a company that is this unprofessional. Bartels told the warranty company, the state licensing board (where I lodged a complaint that they investigated and that is now formally recorded), and my husband that if we want them to replace the glass cook top, we need to take them to small claims court. How is that for customer service!!??! I subsequently dropped this warranty company as they claim they only send out service providers with good reviews and Yelp reviews of this company are quite low. So clearly this warranty company is NOT doing its homework. Consumer Beware! (Update: I have since hired other appliance repair folks in the area who are wonderful. So fortunately we have other options in the area!)

The technician was on-time, courteous, and obviously very knowledgeable about the oven and the needed repairs.

Showed up on time. Quickly installed the range. Very friendly.

Awesome job! They were available, efficient, helpful! They had the parts on their truck as they had asked me before their visit what the model was, how old, and exactly what was happening! Saved time, money and frustration! I've used them before, will use them as long as they are around!
