+ -1 moreThese guys at McClain did an awesome job on our rental that had extensive roof termite damage. The final roof damaged wood increased the price by a lot, however, it was the right thing to do. Kevin suggested a repair method for the "truss rafter tails" that was both satisfactory to us and to the HB inspector. His method differed from others, but it was the correct one. The team cut the rafters behind the stucco, cut slots next to the old, and inserted new beams. They even re-stuccoed the holes. Clean-up, especially after the tear down and install was neat and clean. There were some extra nails, but I purchased a rolling magnet (from Lowes) to follow-up on the driveway and yard..a must purchase in-order to keep your property clear of nails...still finding them. He was in constant contact whenever I inquired by mail or text. He and his son Andrew came back to make tweaks to some hanging wires and other adjustments...talk about after job service! I would so use these guys again...they really know what they are doing and talking with Kevin is such of pleasure. He will let you know what's the correct way and give you options. Oh, I also had the house tented for termite, would not want to see the splendid roof effort wasted... The 30yr roof looks great!

Description of Work: This was a complete roof replacement. After taking the old roof off, they had to re-nail the whole deck (not expected), plus repairing some water damage and facia. They were able to do all the extra work and still finish the job on time. They did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreThe provider was always on time and was very professional. Any question I had was promptly answered. Kevin McClain is a perfectionist and wanted to make sure the roof was done right down to the last detail. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for any roofing work.
Description of Work: The provider tore off the old roof, put plywood and felt underlayer down, and then put on a new high quality composite shingle roof on the house.

Description of Work: They're the roofer. They took it off on Monday and kept the wood work on Tuesday. They finished the wood work on the roof on Wednesday.

Description of Work: Ihad a roof that was about two years old on an addition that was leaking in two areas. McClain roofing found the leaks and repaired both and also checked all other areas for any more problems.

Description of Work: All work was done to my satisfaction within the scheduled time period. The original bid was for $9,000 to include roof removal (two layers of roofing), 30 year fiberglass shingles, and manufactured plywood underlayer. It did not include replacement wood for termite damaged rafters, additional ventilators, etc. There was considerable termite damage to rafters, which had to be replaced. A problem arose when the roof removal crew encountered what looked to me like a tarpaper layer between the first and second roof which they wanted to charge as a third roof. McClain negotiated the price to a more reasonable level and work proceeded. Once the roof was removed and the underpinnings were exposed Mr. McClain told me that the necessary wood and other incidentals would come to about $2000. When work was completed I expected to pay at once but did not hear anything for over a week. Then I received three bills; one for the roof tear-off, one from the company that provided the wood and other items, and one for the original estimate. To back up the billings I asked for and received an itemized list of expenditures. The total cost was the same as the lowest estimate I received from seven other companies, none of which included the cost of additional wood. McClain is a local company, in contrast with the other bidders, which I consider a plus. I would highly recommend their work.

One of those rare contractors who does what he promissed, when he promissed, follows up every day, calls back right away and is responsive to customers' needs. Kevin McClain did 4 or 5 houses on our small street and came highly recommended. I now know why.
