They did a terrible job. I didn't know until I called another plumbing and heating company that came to check and there were all these problems with the work. It did get resolved but I just really wondered whether they had done what they were supposed to do.

I called them out and they figured out that the dishwasher hose was broken and they pulled it halfway out. They told me, "Oh, you got a lot of mold." Then they wanted me to call this other mold company right away. I didn't have mold and I think that they just do that to drum up business for other people. They told us we had asbestos in the upstairs and they wanted to charge us for that. They add on stuff that we don't need. I don't trust them and like a bad mechanic, they charge us for stuff that aren't needed. When we had our heater installed some years back with them, the guys were arguing and one guy quit on the job and walked out and we were supposed to have it done by Christmas but we didn't. When I had them come out this last time to check the source of the leakage, I was getting ready for a knee surgery so I said, "I'm gonna have to sit down so I will sit here." Then the guy sat down and started talking to me when he was supposed to keep on working while I sat down. He was looking around my house and it was weird. I think they've been around for a long time but they're very expensive. I would never use them again though they did a good job installing the heater when it finally got done.

They are huge, and they are all over. They told us that they wouldn't charge us any extra fees, because they saw it was an emergency. The next day was my husband's birthday, and he said they would fix it that night, and see where it stopped. When the guy came out, he looked at it, and he got down with his jetter, and he put the camera in, and he said that the pipe looked like someone stepped on it. He had a team come out, and they fixed it, but they noticed that the line that was out to the sewer was leaking, and that was still under the responsibility of Anaheim city. They finished the work the next day, and they showed up with a box of candy for my husband because it was his birthday. The whole time they talked about why the damaged occurred and how the damage occurred. They spent time explaining to us how the sewer line cracked. We got our money back from the city because they helped us.

I brought Coles out in 2012 for AC repair and they replaced the motor - stupid expensive but it came with 3 years maintenance. They came in June of 2013 for that maintenance and blew my mind with a $2,500 repair estimate for a fully functional unit (or at least it was functioning before they got here). Long story short, brought in a reputable AC guy and was told the extent of their rip off. Only after being confronted with video proof and a CSLB and BBB investigation did they refund my money from 2012. I find it tragic that companies like Coles are allowed to stay in business.

I contacted Cole Services because they offer emergency AC repair on weekends. I first reached the answering service, who told me someone would be calling me shortly to schedule. I waited an hour before calling back, because I had not received a call. After the second call to the answering service, I received a call from a lady who told me that there wouldn't be time to have someone come out to repair my condenser that evening, but I would be the first in the morning. She also said that I would not have to pay the $100 emergency fee, and the $85 diagnositc fee would go toward my repair. I figured I might be able to survive a night in the heat wave because I had no other options. It was 90 degrees in my house in the evening! First thing in the morning might help us make it through an even hotter day today. This morning, I called to confirm my appointment, because the service hour window in which I was expecting someone was closing and had not seen or heard from anyone yet. The lady I spoke to told me that she had NO record of my appointment or conversations! She did the best she could to help find it, but also said that it was unlikely I could have even been scheduled this morning at all because they are booked until Friday (5 days from now). The manager doesn't work on Sundays, so there was no way to track to whom I spoke or why there was such a major error. Hottest day of the year, AC failure, service call failure. Don't expect this compnay to follow through on anything they say they will do!
Description of Work: Unfortunately, nothing. The day of my appointment, I called to find out there was mysteriously no record of my communication or scheduling with them!

Shower head pipe was stripped, so they replaced the pipe, lousy job, I had to secure pipe better and he poked a hole in my fiberglass shower tub enclosure because he used too long of a nail, which I found after he left. I called them, spoke to the owner and he argued with me that his plumber didn't do it! Never use this company! They are also over charged me by at least $400!

Services performed as expected and professionally. After work completed, I checked price of part on internet and found that I was charged 5+ times cost of part to install part, which took less than 30 minutes. I know the company has overheads to pay off trucks, tools, training and retention of employees, but the total cost seemed exessive. In the future, I pland to get estimate for parts, and determine relative cost of installation and additional services, before repairs are made. If excessive, I will seek alternatives for installation.

Quote of 1500.00 because he said this was a major problem and would need 3-4 people to fix it and it would take several hours. I was stupid enough to believe him. He was calling his team and I ran to the market. When I returned one man had started the work and I asked him when the others were coming. He said it was only him. I asked how long it would take and he said he should be done in less than an hour!,,,, so, they wanted to charge me $1599.00 for a one hour job! I called immediately (the original man who scammed me was gone by now). I was irate. They lowered the price to $900.00 which is still outrageous for a one man, one hour job ! I would never use them again and I would highly recommend that you all stay away from this company!

Originally contacted them to camera my main drain/sewer line because I was getting a lot of blockages. I went with them because I had used them to replace my HVAC a few months earlier and although I suspected they were higher priced, I liked their professionalism. This project was one that kept growing. Started out at $350 for camera which showed a lot of roots and so much blockage they couldn't get the camera all the way to the city sewer, to $1500 to jet the line, to $12,000 for re-jetting/camera/lining the drain, to $23,500 to dig up the street because one root was too big to get out added to already broken sewer line at the same location. At that point, I decided to get multiple quotes. They all came in significantly lower priced. We had to negotiate the final price for work completed. They claimed $4000 and I thought it should be $2500. We settled on $3000. The supervisor I worked with was good to work with for the most part but he made some pre-mature assumptions about the upcoming work needed. Ultimately, I refused to pay the $23,500 because their company has such high overhead! That is not my problem, they need to learn how to be more competitive by cutting their overhead. I still need to get the work done and have contracted with another plumbing company. Work to begin after the new year. I'll let you know how that goes.
Description of Work: Ultimately, the services that were performed was they camera'd the drain, jetted the drain, dug a hole and tapped into main drain in anticipation of re-jetting/lining drain but a large root and broken clay just before it joined the city line prevented this. So that was were the work stopped.

I received a flier in the mail for a $69 or $79 service inspection and cleaning of our air conditioner unit before the hot months began, therefore I called Coles and made an appointment. After inspecting the heating unit and air conditioning unit, he proceeded to write up a report of the problem he said he found, and wanted to put us on a payment/service plan for the repairs he said we needed on the condenser unit. He said that if we did not get these repairs, our air conditioner would probably not last the summer. I don't remember exactly, but the tech said it would cost us around $1000 to $1200.
Description of Work: The serviceman came and inspected the heater unit, and didn't say that there was any problem. Then he went outside to the air conditioning unit. There, he measured pressures, I think, with a special instrument. He, then, came into the house and wrote up an estimate of repairs that needed to be done. This estimate was around $1000.00, for which he wanted to put us on a payment plan. He did not clean the condenser/fan unit or inspect the vents or filter, which was stated in the company's flier I received in the mail.

I hit the thermostat to get our heat going on what I would say was the third or forth chilly night in our SOCAL town...No go! what.. ! ? Did use the heater once, maybe two weeks ago. Just could not recall, but this time, giving plenty of time for something to happen, definitely no fan, no warm air... Break out the snuggies... call in the morning. Looked on Angie's list, called a company, it was also in our local listings. Relatively decent reviews. Called COLE plumbing services, by 9:30am. maybe a bit later... dispatcher sounded hurried, a little put out in my requesting her name, but gave me a window of 1-4 or 2-5pm. At least it would be for the same day. Great, husband likes to not to get dressed in the bone cold when off to slay the dragon. Well, here we are... late afternoon when the phone rang at 4:55pm. it was no mystery as to who was on the other end to say " the guy is on his way." And me: a little perturbed: "Yeah and you don't hit your windows so well!" It was awhile, say 40 minutes before he showed. Not super happy but... when I met Mike and I learned a bit more about the area he covers, long are the days and trying to provide service to customers same day so you don't have to go back. Or try and secure a job or just deal with a customer who wants information but does not want to commit to their service....the big window at the end of the day and being a bit late... It's just the nature of the beast! I got same day service on what probably was a very busy day, cool night and chilly morning!! Mike was well groomed, straight forward, polite and went over all our options. I would say that COLE plumbing seems to abide by their code of ethics. We needed parts, a tweak and a fix... second dispatcher, two days later was pleasant, we saw Mike again the next morning. Truck clean, responded to a request I left for him, professional and knowledgable. Work knocked out. He made evaluations, gave us choices, seemed straightforward. We will use COLE again....just, hopefully, not in the near future.

After calling numerous plumbers and getting extremely high prices just to come to the house, I was fortunate to call Cole. Their service call price was the lowest and they also applied this to the overall bill. Others did not, like the "smell good" people. I explained that my wife and I both worked and would not be home till at least 6:15pm. The dispatcher said she would try to have someone meet us at that time. Around 5pm I received a call from plumber Ray Goldberg, who said he would be at our home at 6:15pm. Mr Goldberg examined the kitchen sink area and advised that the disposal unit was dead. He gave us an estimate and was told to proceed. Mr Goldberg was very polite, always wore shoe covers while in the home and left the kitchen area cleaner than it was when he arrived. He worked quickly and explained what he was doing. This was by far, the best experience we have ever had with a plumber. When we complimented Mr. Goldberg upon leaving, he said that the owner of the company stresses that great customer service is the most important thing at Cole Services. I would recommend Cole to anyone who needed plumbing services. I would also recommend asking for Ray Goldberg. I can assure you that you will be pleased with his work and customer service.

This was easily the worst experience with a contractor that I've ever had, and that's saying a lot cause I've had some crazy bad experiences. It all boils down to the professionalism of those running the company. I could write the whole experience down, but then it would be wasting more time on this worthless company. Wish I would have looked them up here first. Please, Please do not use this company for anything! Lied to me and even charged my credit card for 9 thousand dollars with out my approval!

My wife called three plumbers and Cole was the only one to answer the phone. We were charged $3857 for a job that took two men a little less than three hours to complete plus one guy to shmooze and hold our hand and sell the job. They removed a plastic pipe that burst at our water meter and replaced it with a copper pipe about two feet long. They refused to give us an itemized bill (parts and labor). If you figure generously, $100 for the copper pipe, the labor rate for three guys works out to be an outrageous $417.44 per hour. WE WERE WAY OVERCHARGED, AND THEY REFUSE TO LISTEN TO REASON. FIND A DIFFERENT PLUMBER.

April 2012 called Cole Services to snake downstairs main sewer line at my very elderly dad's house. Tech showed up on time, nice kid, did the job quickly, but added some bogus $150 charge, over the phone they told me $99, but when the guy got to the house, he discussed price before starting and told me it would be $245, not $99. No big deal, sometimes I have more time than money. $150 not a deal breaker. He did the job and left. August, 2012, same drain backs up, down stairs is flooded. No surprise, I know the snake is only a temporary fix. I call Cole again, request just a snake, that's all I needed. Two trucks show up 6 pm Friday, one truck with hydrojet, I told the guys I just want a simple snake, that's all we are going to do today. Sewer lead tech gets indignant and tries to tell me what needs to be done. i see $$$ rolling in this guy's eyes. He and I do not see eye to eye at all, he soon tells me he won't do just the snake because it won't fix the problem. I tell him I know that, It's friday night, I just want the 30 min snake job to just stop the flooding, and that's all. Just the same old pitch, they want to run the show and tell YOU the homeowner what needs to be done. When you push back they start playing games. That's when I had to ask them to leave. They left. I called another plumber (rescue rooter) and got it done in 30 min for $395. money well spent, Those guys were really nice to me. I don't know what the answer is on how to deal with these guys, but at the end of the day it's all about price. just don't call cole services.
Description of Work: April 2012 called Cole Services to snake downstairs main sewer line. Job was done OK but they added a $150 upcharge for no reason. Paid it. August 2012, same drain backed up, called Cole, they came out but refused to do snake again, said job needed permanent fix. We parted company after they refused to do snake. Major personality conflict there. For the first episode I'd give them a C, got it done but up-charged me by 150%. The second is an F for a shameless effort by the lead man to refuse to do the small scope of work requested, and to try to manipulate the customer (me) into doing much more expensive work at a very inconvenient time (6 pm Friday night). Overall a D.

The experience was very disappointing. I would think that I would have been treated with a little bit more professionalism, rather than being informed that they have a strict policy to refuse services to real estate professionals.
Description of Work: As a real estate broker, I am used to having contractors and service providers go out of their way to assist me. Since I typically sell 40+ homes per year, I represent a valuable referral source to anyone that provides me with good service. So naturally, I would have thought it easy to get an estimate from these guys. I thought wrong. After explaining that I needed to get an estimate for ducting replacement in a home in escrow, I was informed that they do not work with Realtors! I guess they can't get into your home and pressure you to sign a contract if it's something that you do for a living!

I noticed a water spot in my downstairs ceiling, and traced the problem to the toliet upstairs. I called Cole Services for an estimate. They came out promptly and told me I needed a new toliet. The serviceman went out to the truck, and came back in a few minutes with a quote for $1550, including a $150 discount if I authorize the repair immediately. I asked him for a copy of the quote so I could compare, and he refused. I checked with Home Depot, and found their top-of-the-line toliet sells for $320, plus $250-300 for installation. I ended up replacing the seal myself, and it has worked fine ever since (9 months).
