We provide home and some commercial remodeling services and general maintenance. I am licensed, bonded, and insured as a General B Contractor. I have been in business working solely from referrals, having spent 17 years working in various trade capacities of construction. I provide free estimates to Orange, and eastern Los Angeles. I take pride in my work, consider myself an artist, and love my job, that's why I'm personally involved in all the work we do for you.
We have scheduled Kyle Beym Home Improvement for a larger project later in Spring but had some additional improvement targets that could be done separately. Kyle was responsive with initial contacts and very timely on his assessment visit and subsequent proposal. His men came on time and were very focused on getting the job done right. When materials that were supplied by us were not exactly as they had expected, they were able to figure out alternative solutions and get the job done on-time. Kyle Beym will definitely be on our "speed dial". We are planning on using him on our future projects for the house.
Description of Work: 1. Hang two doors at main entrance. 2. Create opening, frame, and hang two doors.

We were impressed by the professionalism and services provided by Kyle Beym Construction. All work was done in a timely and meticulous manner. The work area was cleaned each day and materials stored and prepped for the next day. All workers were courteous and thorough. We are thrilled with our new space and will definitely call this company for a variety of projects. We enjoyed all encounters with every person on the project. Kyle is conscientious and intent on providing quality customer service.

The crew showed up on time everyday. They were friendly and hard-working. The project took approximately 2 weeks, which is how long we were told it would take to complete the work. Once the work began, however; we were told they hoped to have it mostly completed by the end of the week. We noticed the retexturing/painting seemed rushed in certain areas but after we pointed those areas out, the workers graciously fixed them and slowed down their pace. There were also a couple of minor miscommunication mishaps (paint colors, needing a wall patched to hang new bathroom mirror) but those were quickly corrected. On the last day of work, the crew worked diligently to get everything done, there were just a few oversights including not replacing some light switch covers and not repairing the wall around a kitchen switch. Those are minor things that we can fix though, and I'm sure if I had brought it to Kyle's attention, he would've sent someone over to make those corrections. All in all it was a good experience and we're enjoying our house.
Description of Work: Services performed include: retextured/painted all interior walls and ceilings; painted exterior trim, including windows, front and back doors and bay window siding; installed kitchen flooring; relocated water heater from kitchen to garage; installed new tub surround and vanity/mirror in bathroom; installed garage side door and ceiling fan; added new electrical outlet for dishwasher; miscellaneous.
Kyle and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. My project involved a guest house remodel, so I presented many things that could be done in the 40 hours I had prepaid for. We prioritized the work, and I was generally pleased with what was accomplished in the two days that Kyle or his workers were on the job. Both his workers spoke perfect English, which was convenient, and offered advice when I had questions. Kyle himself was patient, kind, and diligent with the work he was doing. The only constructive criticism I have is very minor, and involves preparation. While plastering, nothing was used to cover existing floor and fixtures, and as a result I have dried plaster that I need to scrape off of a toilet tank, toilet seat, floor, and sink. This could have easily been prevented with a cheap plastic drop cloth. Other than that very minor issue, I am pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend Kyle and his team to either get the ball rolling on, or completely tackle, work that you've been wanting to get done around the house.
Description of Work: Various jobs in a detached guest house, including installation of 4 new windows, 9 recessed lights, a ceiling fan, and new entry door, a bathroom light fixture, several electrical switches including two new outlets, two exterior light boxes and lights, and some old stud removal and re-framing. Patching of any holes that were made was also done.

The work was done quickly and efficiently. They were always on time and removed the rubble through the window to keep from going through the house! In the evening, they would leave things clean an orderly. They arrived on time, did what they could to keep the dust to a minimum and carted all the rubble away. The toilet did leak after the job was done, but they quickly corrected the problem. I would (and did) call Kyle to do this kind of work again!
Description of Work: They removed a front wall that made our 2nd shower feel like it was in a closet. Installed a new shower pan, drain, shower surround, shower door, replaced the shower valve, repaired plaster from the old leaky shower, moved an outlet, installed an exhaust fan/heater/light, installed a new vanity, removed the medicine cabinet and replaced it with a mirror, installed an an over-the-john cabinet, removed the 1953 (now illegal) electric heater and repaired the plaster, and removed the old flooring and replaced it with tile, and painted the bathroom.
He did a good job, and I would recommend him to anyone. We were very satisfied with his work.
Description of Work: He fenced in a small area of our backyard, and also put some crown molding around our fireplace.

Things went well both times that Kyle worked for us. He is dependable, very easy to work with, does great work and has a good team working for him. I plan to use Kyle Beym Home Improvements in the future.
Description of Work: In May 2011 Kyle and his team patched and painted two ceilings in rooms that had leaked rain during the winter. He also painted a bath room and bedroom. In January 2012 he repaired a bathroom floor, including the subfloor and reset the existing tile. He also resealed a shower stall, removed and installed a ceiling fan, repaired an interior kitchen wall which included replacing wall board, patching and painting, poured concrete in an area susceptible to flooding when it rains, and removed a concrete walkway.

We had been wanting to re-do a small bath for some time, but didn't have any referrals. We became aware of Kyle Beym Home Improvements via an Angie's list e-mail coupon special for bathroom remodel jobs. After reading the positive remarks for Kyle Beym Home Improvements AND because I've never gone wrong with my choices after researching on Angie's list, we decided to take a chance with Kyle, and am so glad I did. Kyle came to look at our job and provide his input. Once our start date was set, the crew showed up as scheduled and on time every day. Kyle and his crew were a pleasure to work with. He always responded to my calls/e-mails during the project, and even went to bat for us when they found that the marble vanity that we picked up was actually damaged (and this was done on a Saturday - on his own time). I know I will be using Kyle for future projects and would not hesitate recommending Kyle Beym Home Improvements to friends and Angie's List members.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel (kept existing tub). Old bath fixtures (floor tile, toilet, vanity, and tile around tub) were demo'd and replaced. Plumbing and repair work was also performed (we knew this would be required prior to the job). New floor tile, wall tile around tub surround, plumbing repair, placement of new vanity and toilet, re-wiring of vent fan, and painting of room.
Continuing to prepare our Hermosa Beach home for a future sale, we hired Kyle Beym and his team to upgrade all three bathrooms, the laundry room, and the kitchen To blunt some of the cost, we applied an Angie's List discount for renovation of a single bathroom to a portion of the work. Although Kyle was too busy to begin the work immediately, the timing turned out well since we had moved out by then and they could come and go as needed. After meeting with us to discuss specifics and providing a detailed estimate that we agreed to, Kyle's team worked efficiently to complete the job. The relatively minor issues encountered along the way were ultimately resolved to our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend Kyle to anyone requiring this type of work.
Description of Work: Renovation of master bathroom, two guest bathrooms, laundry room, and some kitchen upgrades. Work in the guest bathrooms included replacement of bathtubs and toilets, installation of bathtub surround tiling and faucet trim, floor tile, lighting, fans, GFI outlet, medicine cabinets, plus waterproofing and painting. Work in the master bathroom included installation of shower surround tiling and faucet trim, shower door and window, surround tiling and faucet trim for Roman tub, floor tile, toilet, two sink faucets, lighting, fan, GFI outlet, medicine cabinet, plus waterproofing and painting. For the laundry room, removal of water heater tank, installation of counter and floor tile, plus waterproofing and painting. And finally for the kitchen, installation of counter backsplash, new chandelier, and painting.

I would not recommend this company. It has been a nightmare. I could not have Thanksgiving dinner in my house because of a coupon I ordered in May. I now am not able to go visit my grandchildren in Colorado for the holidays because of this company.
Description of Work: I initially bought a Big Deal coupon which I thought would include a licensed plumber and electrician. It was not until half way through the demolition that I found out that the workers are not licensed and that Mr Beym was not going to use licensed plumbers and electricians. He was not supervising the work adequately, appearing only once every few days. I was alarmed when one of the handymen cut through the wall, hitting an electric line, tripping a circuit breaker. He thought that a "fried" outlet had caused the problem, until my husband pointed out where he had cut into the wire. He did not know how to reset the circuit breaker. Having a guy do the electrical work when he does not even know how to reset a circuit breaker caused a lot of concern for me. Mr. Beym then sent me additional fees. He tried to charge me $80/ hour for unlicensed people to perform the work. My husband has had issues with Kyle as well. My husband stopped him from knocking a hole in a wall to run an electrical line when there was already an existing electric line. There is no telling how much he would have charged for that. They did not bring in any plastic sheeting to cover their mess. He is trying to charge me more than $3000 for unlicensed labor. He is overcharging me for everything. We agreed to additional charges of $2250. When he sent us a revised bill, he added a demand that we sign a statement that we will not file a negative report with Angie's List. He stated that if we refuse to sign, he will pull his workers off the job, and indeed the workers never came back. Since he stopped work, we hired a replacement contractor. The new contractor has found numerous defects in Mr Beym's work, including: 1. Using a plastic plug to close a sewer opening and sealing it with PVC glue. Code requires a metal, screw-in plug. 2. Tapping into a sewer vent line and using it as a main sewer line, and providing no separate vent line. 3. An electrical outlet box attached to drywall, instead of directly to a stud. 4. Drywall not screwed to studs, but floating and moving when touched. 5. Missing stud where replacement wall required one. 6. Using a rubber joint on a sewer line. Hard PVC or metal is required. 7. Using a tight elbow on a sewer line. A gentle elbow is required to allow a plumber's snake to pass through. 8. Some tile is fastened only with mud. There is no backer board. 9. Electrical: ran bare wires through wall. When I protested, he slid a flex conduit over the wires, but attached each end of the flex with electrical tape, rather than a secure mechanical connection. 10. Attached drywall directly to the hardwood back of an adjacent closet. 11. No hot water to tub. We have yet to find out what is wrong. We may need to pull down the tile work covering the valve. 12. Chipped our supplied tile, rendering it unusable These defects are being rectified at considerable cost to me.

I am a general contractor and I have workers that I've used for years that work under my license. I don't hire sub-contractors. Until encountering (Member Name), all of my previous clients have found this preferable. I went out to review her project on various occasions, corresponded via emails, and implored her to schedule a start date earlier rather than later as I anticipated other who bought the coupon were going to. Before work commenced, (Member Name) was supplied with a bid for additional work that she reviewed and we went over together. She was also provided the opportunity to have us pull the proper permits with the city, but declined. She agreed to bid for the extra work. It was upon commencement of the plumbing and electrical work that she objected to the hourly charges. I then asked if she'd like to continue with us completing that portion of the project or if she'd like to hire an outside source. She refused to hire anyone else, so we continued with the work. Later on, she objected to the final bid amount and stated that she wasn't going to pay me the $3050 that would be owed upon completion. Reluctantly, I bartered and we agreed to a reduced price $2250. Furthermore, it's difficult to locate a sub-panel in order to reset a circuit when it's hidden behind a painting unbeknownst to us. Many of the complaints on her list are incorrect and/or would have been found and easily remedied if we'd continued with the work. We eventually chose to discontinue the work and accept the partial payment that her husband offered us. As the work was not finished, it's hardly fair to call the work defective. We take great care to keep our work area and the rest of the house of clean as possible, but it is construction and a certain amount of dust is inevitable. (Member Name) incessantly harassed my workers regarding my prices, asking why I charge so much and how much they would charge if she were to hire them independently; which made them very uncomfortable. I would question the integrity of someone who is provided a bid for work, accepts it, then decides not to honor it after the majority of the work has been finished. We have won the Super Service Award for the last two years and have worked hard to maintain our rating by offering exceptional work and doing what we say we will. Please refer to the reviews by the dozens of other satisfied customers.

I originally found this company using the Big Deal promotion. I had a great experience with my bathroom remodel. Kyle's crew was professional, courteous, and very thorough. The job site was kept very clean and they were efficient throughout the job. They did a good job troubleshooting a persistent plumbing issue and spent some time doing needed repairs. They were easy to communicate with and I felt very comfortable with their advice. Their finishing work looks good and they corrected any hiccups very quickly. The crew were meticulous and careful. I am quite thrilled about the final result. I felt the price was fair and in line with what was promised.
Description of Work: Our renovation was a 12 ft x 6 ft 2nd story bathroom. The scope of our work included:tub replacement, tile demo and install, subfloor reinforcement, drywall repair, vanity removal and install 2 new vanities, paint, toilet replacement, and mirror installation.

Kyle did an excellent job from start to finish. It took a day to remove the crumbling several feet of wall, then more than a day to pour the concrete, insert the rebar and rebuild the wall. It looks great. Kyle also returned promptly to fix a concrete haze that was left on the wall. That is the sign of a great workman, to return right away and fix something that was not quite right. I would call Kyle anytime for any job I had at my house and have recommended him to several of my neighbors.
Description of Work: Kyle replaced a crumbling block wall between a neighbor's house and ours. He removed several feet of blocks, then poured a concrete foundation and installed rebar all along the wall. Then he reconstructed the wall, cementing it with concrete. I think that long after the rest of the wall crumbles, Kyle's replaced section will still be standing and looking great.

I did not have any work done by this company/person. Kyle did respond to my email the following day and stated that he was booked until the beginning of December. I was dissapointed that he didn't bother to ask me whether or not I was in a hurry to get my job done (which I am not). All he said was that he was not taking any new customers. Unfortunately, I was left with a feeling that he was just not interested in my project.

Everything went better than I expected. After the demo I had some unexpected delays on delivery of the Spa. Kyle redeployed his team to another job and didn't charge me anything for the delay. When the spa arrived they were back on the job the next day. His crew was polite, professional and never stopped workong, except for lunch, from the time htey arrived until they left for the day. The attention to detail in the tile work and plastering was most impressive. They were also clean in their work habits.

I did not have any work done by this company. I left a message and received a call back the following day. The owner asked what work I was looking to have done. I mentioned that the house was small about 950 sq ft. that it need the hardwood floors refurbished and the kitchen flooring replaced. I also menitoned that I was looking for someone that I could use going foward when ever maintenance items poped-up. After my run down on what I was looking for, he told me that he was too busy and was booked until at least October. While I appreciate the prompt return call, it seemed pointless to ask what work I needed if he new he was tied up for a few months. Maybe my job was too small. I went ahead and scheduled an appoint with another company I located on Angie's list

I did appreciate the phone call, but felt the grades were a bit unwarranted. I always call back if a message is left. I am always looking to be a solution to someone's problem as that is my job - and I enjoy it. If at all possible, I will try to fit in jobs wherever I can. However, if I can't I think it a better solution to decline the work rather than accept it, only to inevitably postpone.

The crew showed up every day at 8:00 AM and stayed until 5:00 with only a half hour off at lunch. They started with the tile in the shower and asked for my approval with every step they took. We had an unusually large tile 12 x 35 inches so it would have been very easy to mess up. when they finished the wall tiles they put the stone floor in and got my approval along the way and it turned out beautiful. They moved to the floor outside of the shower and before they even cut a tile they asked for my approval to make sure the tiles were hidden in the right places and it looks beautiful. They also adjusted the cabinets and worked on moving the electricity at the same time as the tiling so no one was standing around while one guy worked. Every thing is exactly where we wanted it to end up. The job they did was beyond beautiful and I will call them for the next bathroom remodel, hopefully the next one will be a little easier.
Description of Work: His staff tiled and finished a bathroom remodel that we had started last October. They tiled a shower/bath tub area with a stone floor and tiled outside of the the area to the entire floor of the bathroom. They also did a wall mount for a recessed tv and moved some electrical outlets around the sinks and an extra vanity light.

We found Kyle Beym Home Improvements (714) 299-6612 on Angie's list for our bathroom remodel with a coupon special!. I had tried to do the remodel myself and had taken the room down to the studs. In the process I messed up the window frame in the bathroom. I called Kyle to bail me out as I was in over my head at that point. Kyle came over to give the estimate and was punctual from the start. Once we agreed on price, Kyle and his crew, Francisco Sr and Francisco Jr arrived on time every day. Great father and son team, very polite and respectful of the house. My wife wanted to adopt Francisco Jr by the time they were done with the job. Every day I came home from work you could see the progress and work area was cleaned up each day when they left. They installed the new sub-floor, tile, drywall, exhaust fan, toilet, sinks, vanity, medicine cabinet, textured and painted, the whole thing in 1 week. They even came up with a great idea to use a different style of trim around the bathroom that allowed them to redo the damage to the window I messed up so it all came out looking great. All in all it was a very nice experience. Thanks to Kyle and his crew my son now has his own bathroom back. Thank you Angie's list for taking the guesswork out of hiring contractors off the street. It really takes alot of stress out of the process knowing you're dealing with vetted contractors with A ratings from the start. Jay F.

Called him to get an estimate on having the bathroom floor redone. Found his attitude on the phone rude. Said he didn't want any new small jobs even tho I said we might have the bathroom renovated if the price was good, which was one of his posted offers.
I purchased a 3 hour special from Angie's List. Although it took a couple of weeks to get an appointment, it was worth the wait. He is very thorough, proactive, and works well with little instruction. I would DEFINITELY recommend Kyle to anyone who needs some handiwork done. Very polite and friendly as well.

As described above, everything went incredibly well. I've never had anyone who worked so quickly and so well. His workers were just excellent, too. However, he did a lot of the work himself. Besides doing such superior work, Kyle was very pleasant to work with. He's the best and, amazingly, his prices are reasonable, too.
Description of Work: We had a leak, deep in the slab of the house. Before Kyle came, a plumber had torn a hole right through the living room of the house, inside and out--and jack-hammered down into the slab to locate and fix the leak. This was a long-term leak which had left the surrounding area full of mold. After that, we had to stuff rags into the holes both inside and outside of the house and tape up tarps so no bugs or animals could get in the house. It was a mess! Kyle Beym came into this grim situation and repaired everything quickly, efficiently and perfectly. I couldn't believe it! He had to remove dry rot and mold materials, then put in drywall, baseboard, moulding around the large window, and actually brace and straighten the misaligned bow window whose side windows wouldn't open and close before. Outside, he had to repair concrete and re-form the outside of the house, stucco it and paint it. He painted everything inside, as well It now looks even better than before. While he was here he also: He repaired drywall and baseboard--and painted-- in a back closet that had been moldy. He sanded and re-finished the front door and the frame around it. He repaired an area behind the washer which was marred by leakage. He sanded, patched and re-finished two thresholds for French Doors. I got three different estmates on fixing these areas of our house. Even more than financial concerns, I wanted to make sure I got a good job. Kyle's estimate was the lowest, but he actually sounded the most competent, AND he was highly recommended by Angie's List. He exeeded my expectations by far. In fact, he is definitely the best general contractor we've ever had--and we have had a lot of them.

Overall we are very pleased with the work done. Kyle and his crew were punctual, courteous and professional. They were very good about cleaning up before they left each day. Response from Kyle Beym Home Improvement
Unfortunately, I neglected to respond to the member. I missed his email in a flurry that I received over a one-week period. I did send him an email of apology and thanked him for his interest.

handyman service, wallpaper removal

It was a handyman service for 3 hours. We bought the big deal coupon and spent $100 for the service. He seemed like he was a pretty decent guy. It’s really difficult to evaluate his work because it was like three hours time and it wasn’t like a job. I would probably have been real thrilled if it was done as a job. He got most of the wallpaper off, but there is still some wallpaper stuck that needs to be removed. He was in there sweating for three hours and he worked really hard. It wasn’t a bad experience. I would definitely consider having him do something else. He was very courteous, nice and pleasant to deal with. He was there on time as well. I think I would recommend him to others and I think I would have him do something as a job to evaluate him. The work wasn’t perfect, but it probably would have been if he was given another hour.
Description of Work: I used the services of Kyle Beym Home Improvement for wallpaper removal in a bathroom about a couple of days ago.
