My wife and I are delighted with our new kitchen. Horizon did the remodeling in an expeditious and professional manner. Their workers were courteous and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend Horizon to anyone contemplating a remodeling project.

We were in need of a major master bathroom remodel and were referred to Horizon Construction by a friend who had been extremely please with their master bath remodel. The owner, Mark, came out on time and gave us many suggestions based on the space we have and an estimate of the cost. We visited their show room several times to make our selections and were ready to begin. The workers all arrived on time and Mark supervised the project from start to finish. Mark was meticulous in making sure all work was completed to his and our satisfaction. The result is a beautiful travertine and quartz bathroom that we will enjoy for many years to come. We highly recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling and will use the company for other remodel projects in the future.

This was my first remodeling project and they were great. When I wasn't sure about selections they had good suggestions which I took. They were a little more expensive but totally worth it. Quality was very good as well as their follow through. It's been awhile and I am still extremely happy with end results.

I hired Horizon to complete a full remodel of my father's 3 bedroom/2 bath 1,152 sq. ft. "starter" home (circa 1974) that had never been updated. Included in the remodel were custom kitchen and bathrooms; new windows and flooring throughout; new A/C and furnace with new ducting; removal of acoustic ceiling; new door (front/fire/closet) replacement throughout; full interior and exterior painting; and updated electrical and plumbing. The cost: $95,000. This amount excludes the cost of all kitchen appliances, vanity/counter tops in bathrooms, doors, light fixtures, window coverings, kitchen & bathroom finishes (back splash tile, cabinet knobs & drawer pulls, sinks, faucets, shower/bath fixtures, mirrors, door handles), new garage door and opener, closet shelving & brackets, as well as required City permits. The property was unoccupied throughout the remodel. Overall, the workmen employed to perform the multitude of tasks involved with this project did a wonderful job! This was borne out when the house sold 4 days after being listed. Every showing resulted in comments like I tried, but I couldn't find any problems, the details were addressed; many remodels miss the mark with the details, "I'd move in right now if I could!" As far as the quality of the work goes, I would not hesitate to hire Horizon again. What I would struggle with, however, are the issues I encountered with project management and administrative matters: The project manager I worked with was Mike. Mike was nice, showed a desire to please his client(s), overall accessible to answer questions, and provided sound and helpful design advice. Areas where he can improve include writing things down so he won't forget important issues, reading texts/emails in their entirety to avoid his client's having to answer questions where information has already been provided in an earlier text/email, and showing more finesse in dealing with a client whose opinion/recollection of events differs with his. Ultimately, though, Mike's a good guy and very relatable. The front office staff were very pleasant to deal with, and were attentive to issues that arose. If I had a question, it was usually answered quite promptly. If I was dissatisfied with something, it was also addressed quite promptly. Enna (co-owner), Yafa, and Audrey all stand out as being great to work with. An area that would warrant improvement is the attention to details when it comes to payments. Client payments should be tracked closely by administration so a client does not have to use their time to provide detailed payment information. Every construction project will encounter problems and mistakes. The process has many moving parts. The key factors that helped make this a successful project were that Horizon fulfilled their contractual commitments, took responsibility when mistakes were made, and rectified problems to the satisfaction of their client. Horizon Construction performed the remodel of my small master bathroom. Given the small size, I was expecting any contractor to either price it high or give me second class service. Horizon did neither. The price while a bit higher than other bids, was justified by the assignment of a project manager who helped with the design, met me at the home improvement store to pick out the specific tiles and provided exact measurements, and who provided me with on going supervision of the workers and timely status updates. The workers showed up on time and took great care to protect the carpet and the rest of the house. The work quality was excellent. I would highly recommend them for the quality of their work. The project: a kitchen renovation that involved demolishing the old kitchen, building a completely new kitchen in a different location (the old dining area), opening a wall, and building an addition onto the house to add a wet bar Overall, we had a great experience with Horizon. They delivered what they said they would, when they said they would, for the price they said it would be. The work crews were friendly and professional; we were very impressed by their efficiency and the long hours they often worked to complete the project quickly. As this was our first major renovation, we did sometimes feel some stress about communication (namely knowing when fixtures and decisions were needed from us), but things generally went smoothly. We are very pleased with the final product and would certainly work with Horizon again.

Very Professional. Project completed sooner than projected.

We knew from our experience that this would be a big project, and it would require patience.We needed to remove a weight bearing wall, and reinforce the foundation in three places. This included installing two massive beams in the ceiling to support the roof! This was a Kitchen REBUILD! This old house had the original 1955 yellow tile and linoleum kitchen. We told Mike, our Project Manager that our Prime Concern was the end result. But we wanted him to be as accurate as possible in estimating the start date, and the length of project--and to be HONEST about the predicted time frame. He said they could start in 2-4 weeks as they were so busy--(a good sign). he predicted it would take 3 months to complete, not including holidays. They began within 2 and 1/2 weeks, And they completed our BEAUTIFUL NEW KITCHEN in exactly 3 calendar months which included holidays and weekends!!! We are very happy with the end result, quality materials, and workmanship!!!

We hired Horizon Construction to demolish our 1950’s kitchen and construct a brand new one. From the beginning they were up front and professional. We were overwhelmed with all the many choices with design and color. Since Horizon Construction has a showroom, Mark and Enna were able to help us create the vision we had for our kitchen. Once the project was underway, we were updated daily by Enna as to when the workers would be here. We were grateful for their reliability since we were living in our home during the construction. That made this large project much less stressful. The workers were trustworthy, courteous and respectful of our property. Throughout the entire project there were only a few issues, as there would be with any project of this magnitude; Mark and his project manager Tal addressed them immediately. Horizon Construction was a little more expensive than our other bids but you do get what you pay for. Our kitchen turned out fantastic! We love it!!

After years of dreaming about remodeling our kitchen, collecting photos from DIY websites and magazines, I was finally able to convince my husband that our 1967 house needed some updating to accommodate our huge family and our hope of “aging in place”. A simple kitchen project became a more extensive downstairs remodel with a new full bathroom and universal shower. We spent months making detailed drawings and lists incorporating what we wanted it to look like. Being life-long DIYers, we entertained the idea of being an owner/contractor but soon realized that the project would involve many structural changes (moving sewer lines, load bearing walls, etc) as well as extensive knowledge of our city’s building codes. In other words, it was beyond our capabilities. We narrowed our search for a contractor to four based on recommendations from neighbors and reviews on the internet, then received estimates and descriptions of the work to be done. Admittedly, we were shocked when all the estimates were almost double what we were anticipating the work to cost… ahh, the price of naivete! While not the least expensive, Mike Roppo, representing Horizon Construction and Remodeling, was the most thorough, knowledgeable and professional of them all. Demo started mid-September, final inspection was in mid-February, almost 6 weeks longer than first estimated. We had some glitches and delays along the way: additional engineering specs, an additional support post, adding a new sheer wall, etc. More time, more money. We were wisely advised to plan on having a 15-20% cushion for unforeseen expenses. Stuff happens! Electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, flooring, tile, cabinets, painting, finish carpentry… the crews were great! They all worked hard, cleaned the job site daily, were respectful, communicative-we couldn’t have asked for more from them. Mike was our go-to project manager every step of the way. His code of quality even exceeded ours! We are so grateful to have had him work with us. Mark Besnos (owner of Horizon Construction) checked in frequently to make sure the work being done met his high standards as well. Mark’s wife Enna and the office staff (Anna and Carolyn) kept us informed as to the work schedule and who to expect on the job site. They were easy to communicate with and always available to address our questions and concerns. Bottom line, we love our remodeled home and would recommend Horizon Remodeling and Construction…yes, even to our family members.

Recently, we were looking to completely remodel our 1968 master bathroom and create a comfortable, beautiful and functional retreat. After reading many reviews and viewing several sites, we contacted Horizon Construction and Remodeling to take on the project. From the first meeting until the final sign off, we found the team to be completely professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. During our initial consultation, Mark took our vision and made a beautiful and workable plan that incorporated the custom cabinets and high-end finishes which were consistent with our preferences. Those plans were transformed into a stunning and comfortable oasis which we enjoy on a daily basis. When we had questions, changes, or concerns, they were addressed immediately and always to our satisfaction. During several inspections, our city inspector commented on the outstanding job the team was doing and the rapid pace at which they were completing projects. The office would keep us informed regarding the daily schedule and as to which teams would be here. The workman are all skilled craftsmen which shows in their work. They were respectful, courteous, and meticulous. Everyday the workspace and surrounding areas were cleaned methodically, taking great care to protect our hardwood floors. This process was first rate from beginning to end, so much so we will be using them in the future to remodel our kitchen. Quality work, craftsmanship at the highest level, and a professional team, Horizon Construction and Remodeling are top notch and I would recommend them to everyone whether your project is small or large. We came to Horizon with a home that was in poor shape and needed not only remodeling, but also major infrastructure repair and updates, such as piping, wiring, A/C and heating, etc. Horizon was proactive in advising us on design, selection and quality of materials, forthcoming with responses to our questions and concerns. I am not what you'd call an "easy" customer, but Horizon was very responsive in resolving the issues that inevitably come up with any project of this scope. They have also shown that they are willing to follow up on post-project touch-ups, etc; they are determined that we be fully satisfied with the project. We are extremely happy in our "new" home (it IS like new to us,) and gladly recommend them. The project was very expensive, due to the damage and poor maintenance accruing over many years, and Horizon was also helpful in assisting us to find financing when our other sources were VERY slow and unhelpful in responding.

My kitchen project involved completely demolishing my old kitchen and making a brand new one. This also involved removing a load-bearing post and widening the opening to my living room. When I first spoke with Horizon, I had no idea what I wanted to do with the space, other than removing the load-bearing post and opening the doorway. The first time I met with the Project Manager, he showed me pictures of other kitchens, measured my existing kitchen, and sketched out some ideas of how the space could be redone. I appreciated the time he took to help develop how the new space would look. As with any construction project, there were a couple minor delays, and that’s to be expected. As a result, the project took a bit longer to complete than anticipated. What resulted was a beautiful, functional, new kitchen and I am so happy with the outcome. While the Project Manager that I had initially worked with left the company mid-project, the work continued to be carried out as planned. I only met Mark one time toward the latter part of the project, but was told that he had been at my home regularly throughout the project. Enna was my e-mail angel; always replying in a timely manner to my questions and concerns. The foreman that worked at my house was very helpful and kept in communication with me. I love my new kitchen and look forward to many years of enjoyment with family and friends. I would use Horizon again for future home improvement projects.

Horizon did a complete remodel of our master bath! They changed the whole footprint of our bathroom! They were prompt, courteous, considerate and a joy to work with! The work is top quality and our bathroom is beautiful!

This is the third time we have hired this contractor. We were very happy with their previous work (a kitchen remodel and replacing all the crown molding and baseboards throughout the house) so we had no hesitation in hiring them again. Mark came over and we talked through our wish list for the bathroom remodel. He offered useful suggestions and came back to us quickly with a detail plan and a price. Mark met with us twice at the tile store to help us make our selections. The whole project then proceeded very smoothly. Enna was quite helpful and pleasant along the way in keeping us up to date and on top of all the decisions that had to be made. Workers were there every day and they were all well-skilled, polite and neat. There were a few issues that came up, but Mark and Enna and the workers always heard our concerns and made sure that everything was always completed to our satisfaction. The bathroom turned out beautifully with clean lines and gorgeous materials, just like we dreamed of.

This was the fourth project that Horizon Construction has done for us. They did a complete remodel of our kitchen, both bathrooms, and removed popcorn ceilings and repainted two family rooms. This project involved removing a chimney that sat perpendicular from the wall in the middle of our family room. They did the complete demo in one day, sealing off the room with plastic to cut down on dust as much as they could. Very impressed! They had to patch the roof, patch the ceiling, and the wall. The very creative part was what to do with the floor area where the chimney base had been. The tile on the floor surrounding the area was discontinued so we were able to find a similar tile that their amazing tile guy laid at a diagonal and it looks fantastic!!! As I have always stated before, Horizon is not perfect (let me know if you do find a contractor who does perfect work the very first time!!). But they will always make sure you are completely satisfied with the work before leaving, no matter what. I respect that and that is why they have come back to do work at our house four times!!!

My husband and I started our remodeling journey in February 2015. At first we wanted to just update our kitchen. But after a while we decided to expand the project and remove the walls between the kitchen, dining room and family room and create one big open space. We worked with a construction company for more than 3 months. We met with them many times and finally we decided they were not up to the task. My husband found Horizon from the Angie’s list and he setup an appointment. When Mark came to our house he explained the process to us. They would do the the plans, get them approved by the city and then we could use him for construction or go with another companies. He gave us a reasonable price for the drawings. He also showed us many pictures from different projects he had worked on. Projects in which he had moved or removed walls. That was important to me. Horizon move very quickly and we had approved plans in less than 3 weeks. Our project was not just upgrading rooms. There was serious structural change we needed to do. Removing all 3 load bearing walls and adding 2 huge beams across the house. It still scares me when I think about it. The construction project was supposed to take 3 months. The crews were in our house almost every day. And they worked really hard. The job site was kept clean and organized. We had a payment chart so we paid each piece after it was done. Demolition, material, footers, etc. I never forget the day we came home after a 3 day trip and saw the walls completely gone, beams up there and for the first time we could see our new space. It was very exciting. There were no big surprises but a few issues did come up but Mark and his team explained them and we work through them easily. Mark responded to all of our concerns and questions and was always available. The project finished just under 3 months and we are extremely happy with the result and experience. Mark and his team are true professionals. I also want to add that Enna was very helpful in the entire process keeping us up-to-date. Horizon made this project look easy. But I know it was not. They basically took our 1970 old, outdated and dark house and brought it to year 2015 making it look bright and open. Thank you Horizon Construction

They did a fabulous job! They took our (2) 1964 bathrooms and brought them into the 21st Century. They were neat and clean! Great communication!

Very professional! Will definitely use again for the next remodel. All workers were very competent. Final product is beautiful!
