CLARKE SERVICES

It went poorly. The house was completely vacant at the time, and there was no furniture that they would have had to move, so it should have been easy to do a thorough cleaning. They did not sweep out the garage or the basement. The floors were still filthy and there was still dog hair in the carpet from the previous owners. The carpet cleaner they used was not of high quality. They also didn't clean off the shelves in the bathroom, which were really dirty.

I bought a house in late June, and was disgusted at the walk through to see how filthy it was. And it was filthy. Dog and cat fur everywhere, dust, cobwebs, you name it. I was very specific when I emailed Michele a list of everything that had to be done. She agreed to do the work within the time frame I needed for $160. That was $125 for the "deep dive clean", $10 to clean the stove, and $25 to sweep out my basement. I asked how many people she'd bring her, and she said one or two. I was out of town on business, so my mother met them. Michelle arrived with her husband - who is a school teacher reportedly. They worked for 2 hours (so $40 per hour each) and did a LOUSY job. Did not even touch obviously dirty things - like wood blinds I had specifically mentioned on the list, one of the ceiling fans, a hallway light that had a clearly visible nest of cobwebs, doors with layers of grime - they didn't touch them. The things they did touch they did a passable job at best. The bathroom tile was all streaky, there were lines of dust where they had swept, but not vacuumed. They rushed out because Michelle was catering something that day - with little regard for ensuring the job is done. My mother asked them if they had done things, and they said yes to things they clearly did not do. That's not the end though. I stopped at the house a couple of days later - and was not happy. I emailed her about it - no response. I did not get back to the house again for two more days. Then I saw how really lousy a job they had done - and that I could not move into the house two days later without re-doing it all. I called Michelle and asked her to come back. She said she'd have to get back to me when she checked her schedule. Three hours later I called again, she said she would call around 5:00. No call. I called again -got voice mail (on her cell phone). Left a message. No call. Called at 8:00AM the next day. No answer, left another message. No return call. At this point I suspected she was screening the calls. I was again out of town so my mother called from a new number. Michele immediately answered - until she heard who it was. Asked her to hold on - then HUNG UP. My mother called back - no answer. That night I got an email from her saying she had been "cut off" from my mother, but that if I had seen the cleaning right away, I would have been happy, the "dust must have settled". Too many things I could say about that ridiculous comment (apparently, she usually just moves dust around when she cleans). Bottom line is - she could not care less if I was satisfied with her work, had taken the cash and run, and had no intention of making it right. I cut my losses and spent two days cleaning (when I should have been packing) to get the house ready.

I set up an appointment a few weeks ago and confirmed the day/time the day before and also sent a list of what I needed cleaned (in priority order). They did not show for the appointment and I called but did not hear back. The next morning I e-mailed and asked what happened and was told a flat tire. Benefit of the doubt so I rescheduled for the next week. They showed on time and spent 2 hours (2 people) vacuuming, dusting some furniture (but not completely - the back of my dresser was dusty, but the front had been cleaned). The bathroom floors were not done as some wooden window blinds which I had indicated where a priority. She cleaned the kitchen and dining room floors to my satisfaction but left cleaner on the face of some of the kitchen cabinets. When I asked why some of the dusting was not done, she indicated it was too much work for what I was quoted. I had left a note telling her someone could call me and let me know if she needed more money to complete the work. Instead, they cleaned for 2 hours ($25/hour per person) and never communicated why the work I was expecting wasn't done. Even if she had called to explain it was too extensive for the time available and scheduled another time to come back, I would have completely understood. I feel there was a lack of professionalism and she felt my standards were too high.

I would re-hire them. The first time they came, I was impressed with their service. However, I don't appreciate them not showing up or calling me to let me know they are not coming.

After two failed attempts at getting her to my house for a cleaning, she did arrive 1/2 hour late to clean my house. The cleaning job was average and she missed a good deal. Dusting was not done, the floor still had dirt on it after both sweeping and mopping (and coffee grounds and pine needles were there, which were not there before). The bathrooms were not as clean as I wanted...the shower door was not cleaned, inside of toilet not that clean and sink fixture not cleaned. I did request she come back again, willing to give her another try, and she no-called/no-showed to the appointment. I won't be using this service again. For the price she charges the end result is not worth it.

We have been using them for a while now, they are consistent, come on time, do a great job, even change my sheets, and start the dirty ones in the washer, They wash windows and do special jobs such as carpet cleaning or cleaning our closets when needed. I suggest using them, I have tried other services before finding them and it did not go well, but I now can rest assured.

They have been providing cleaning of our home for about 6 months and they also clean my next door neighbors home, as well as my sisters and my business office. My office which is a group of 10 offices and 4 rest rooms is always left clean and great smelling. We have used many cleaning services in the past and feel that Clarke Services is the best.

Excellent! I called on Monday, October 16, and scheduled the cleaning for Thursday, October 19, at 9:00 AM. I had tried a national cleaning service twice and was not satisfied with the results. This time I checked Angie's List to select a cleaning service even though I had two other people who were interested in this job. I am very fussy about how my house looks, and how it is cleaned. I was not disappointed in any aspect of the work done. I would recommend Clarke Services to anyone who is looking for a professional, detail-oriented cleaning service. My husband was totally impressed and he does not impress easily. Clarke Services will be coming back next month, I am already scheduled!

Tim, Michelle, Dillon were very polite and extremely reasonably priced. They came exactly when planned for, did everything they were supposed to and then some. I have scheduled them to come once a month. They said it will be $80 each visit from now on unless I need something extra done as well. I may end up having them biweekly, because for $160 a month it is more than worth it.

Great, scheduled me next day. they are going to be coming once a week. My weekly fee will be $95. which is great, much lower priced than any other service I know of.

They came on time, 5 minutes early, they were very polite. I have used several housecleaning services in the past 2 years including the large chains and they are by far the best. They offer personalized service. They are coming to work a party for me as my son is getting married they are going to serve the guests, they do everything, floors, carpet, windows, it all. They also cater to landlords, we own some apartments and they are going to service that as well.
