Description of Work: This contractor was recommended by the Energy House to install a new gas fireplace insert purchased from this retailed. He used the wrong sized flashing around the insert leaving a gap at the top of the flashing and the rock faced fireplace. According to the store, he had the correct size on his utility truck when he arrived for the install. We called him twice and left messages both times concerning the problem. When he did not return the call, I went straight to the retailer to voice my concern. Only when they called him did he bother to return a call to us. He came to the house one time, saw the problem and left the impression with the wife that his installers were responsible and should have caught this error. The fact is, he was at our home the whole time the unit was installed. He presented me with the bill and I, in turn, handed him a check for his services. At the time of his visit, he stated that he would be back in a couple of days to fix the problem. A week and a half went by and he neither called nor returned. He holds a C10 Electrical Contractors License but I will not use him for anything else. The quality of his work and the validity of his word is suspect. The Energy House sent two of its employees to correct the problem after I went back a second time and told them that the problem had not been fixed and that I did not want to see this man at our house again. The work that was done by the employees was top notch and completed in about an hour.
