Tony's Fencing & Ornamental

I called Tony. He answered and made an appt with me to come out and give me an estimate. He was a no show. No call... No nothing. So I went with another company and so glad I did. UNRELIABLE!!!

My first appointment with Tony was Nov 6. We'd made an appt the week before, but he'd been working out of town and "forgot to write it down" when he got back to the shop. (That should have been my first hint ...) I showed him pictures of three rails from Pinterest and he assured me he could make any of them, but he couldn't start until after the first of the year - he'd call me. That was fine with me since my deadline was Easter, April 1. When I hadn't heard from him by Feb 1, I called him. Oh, yes, he still planned to do the job, but had been busy. Again, he was working out of town so made an appt for the following week. Again, he didn't show up. We finally met on Feb 14, when he was going to take the measurements. He also explained that, no, he couldn't make the one I'd chosen "exactly" like the picture; it would be similar, but not the same. I was disappointed and asked why he'd said he could it in November. Well, the materials he uses would not allow that, but he could make a different one of the three. He felt I should go to the shop and actually see the available material. OK-fine, I'd follow him back to the shop. No, that wouldn't work for him; he'd be in the shop Feb 20. Okay. But, how long would it take him to fabricate and install after that. Oh, he'd start on it right away and it'd be completely done within a week because he was "ready for me." On the 20th, we did meet at the shop and final decisions were agreed upon. He explained the process would be in three stages. He would come out that same week for the final measurements (again?) and I didn't need to be home for that. He'd be out early the following week to install the end-posts, then return to the shop to fabricate the middle part, with final installation at the end of the week. Well, both weeks came and went, with no sign of or word from Tony. I called him on March 5 and was told he couldn't come over the week before because it had rained. Well, yeah, a couple of days were wet, but not the whole two weeks. Had he even measured? No. Does he really want the job? Of course, he does; he could come over on the 8th or 9th to measure. But, it's supposed to rain then. Oh, well, he'd be here for sure on the 8th. Right. Easter is coming up fast. This morning I decided that even if Tony magically appeared and installed the perfect rails today (March 7), every time I looked at them I'd still be annoyed and angry. So, I cancelled the project. Perhaps the work he does is outstanding, but I'll never know. Perhaps the job was simply too small (under$2,000) to be worth it to him. I don't know. I do give him credit for not asking for any money before completing the job; kudos for that. I won't count the initial two month wait against him, but the stalling and misrepresentation since Jan 1 is appalling. This is the first time I've tried someone recommended on Angie's List; too bad it wasn't a positive experience.

Through out the whole process, Tony was wonderful to work with. He was very thorough in explaining the process, answering our questions, and we felt confident in his ability to provide what we wanted. The finished product met all of our expectations. The workmanship is top notch.

TONY CAME ON TIME! We wanted fencing on the other side of our home to match the first job he did and Tony was the man for the job! His work is GREAT! His price was FAIR! His workers are very POLITE! and CONSIDERATE! I have a GRAPE theme for my home, and Tony did it AGAIN! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DESIGN! He PULLED IT ALL TOGETHER!!!!

It went so well. The bidding process was quick and easy. We have another fence around other equipment and he said he might not be able to match it exactly but did. It was done faster than he said. The whole experience was great and the work was fabulous. Use him, he's great!

Tony was very responsive and professional on the installation of my pool fencing. He called me back, came out to give me an estimate for the work, and got the work done in a very timely manner. The fence is the exact design I requested, simple but classic. It is very professionally painted and powder coated to give it lasting protection. Tony even agreed to take away the old and ugly cyclone fencing that was replaced. It's been a real pleasure working with Tony!

We had an appt in the morning but he called and asked if later was ok. I was good with that and he did arrive on time. Tony is a very nice guy, likable and well spoken. I needed some fencing fabricated and installed as well as a double door gate for my entry. I told hime the entry was not a priority but would like to get the pricing on it. What I really needed was the fence installed. He said he would get back to me. I called and he called me right back, great right? I still had no quote from him so I called again and left message, nothing. After three more calls, in a 2 week period, and no response I gave up. I'm very disappointed because Tony really is a nice guy and I wanted to work with him. I do know he is busy but you need to communicate with your customers so they know what's going on.

Wow!!!!! Is all I can say! It is absolutely beautiful! Beyond any design that I could have envisioned. We have a front screen door with a grape design, and Tony incorporated the same look and curved the edges of the fence with the cement line. The result, is a beautiful 41/2 foot high enclosure that is keyed to our home. We liked it so much, that we had Tony build a side gate with the same grape look design. This gate is 6 ft. high and has a privacy screen. Both enclosures are powder coated to protect them from weather . You will not be sorry with Tony's work!!!!

I contacted a couple of other fencing companies before I found Tony on Angie’s List. One never called back, one never followed up on the appointment for a quote, and one gave a quote about the same as Tony’s—but I was never able to get a hold of them again. I joined Angie’s List specifically for this job—we have a 6-month old daughter, and we needed a pool fence before she starts wandering around. I did not want one of the Guardian or other fences, because I would like to eventually rent out our house, and I don’t want something tenants can remove (due to liability). Our pool is kidney shaped, and I also wanted something that would follow some of the contours. After talking with Tony briefly on the phone, we set up an appointment for him to come out and take a look. He was on time, and very professional. We walked around the pool, and I described to him what I would like done. After taking some measurements, he gave me his quote and left. We then set up a time in a few weeks to do the install (I wanted to be home from work when he started). There was a little bit of a scheduling glitch on my end, but he called to confirm and we worked it out. The first day, he came out with one of his employees and took more measurements and bent the base pieces. My wife picked the color she wanted, and we let him know. Two weeks later, he was back with his team and all of the panels welded up. The guys did a great job installing everything! The actual installation took a day--they had to set posts and weld the panels up to the posts. We couldn’t be happier with our new fence—style, quality and price. We have a pool fence contoured to our pool, that doesn’t make our backyard feel too small. Three self-closing gates limit non-adult access; and the color my wife picked was perfectly matched by Tony. Instead of just getting a purely functional safety fence, Tony was able to create something that adds to our backyard.

Great work. He said it would be ready in a week and it was. He was on time to both the estimating appointment and also install. He speaks English which is good because I did get some quotes from others but was not sure if in the end I would get what I wanted because of communication problems. Tony is great and provides great service.

It is soooo awesome. I will definitely use Tony again for future projects. He is so professional.

Tony is GREAT! Felt like I had a personal friend watching out for me. He suggested great changes as we went, all at his expense. I have had professional welders look at my fence and tell me I got a fantastic job. I do not remember working with construction and being happier with the job and the contractor. This guy is tops in my book. I can not verify the price as excellent or good. I had three bids. He was the least expensive. I did not choose him because of that. We just clicked right off, and I felt he was a guy I could trust and depend on. I definitely called that one right.

I had Tony do a gate for me last year. I was so pleased with his work that I called this year when I needed to expand the original gate and add safety rails. He completed the work on time at the price promised. I am very happy with the finished product.

He never showed up. Called and left message asking to reschedule. He never returned the call.

Not only is Tony a true professional, he is an artist. He paid attention to every detail and installed them in exactly the right location. I will definitely use Tony's Fencing again when I need another gate or fence.

All I can say is wow!! Tony was professional, on time, and did what he said he would do. He built high quality, strong, beautiful gates. When he quoted the price, I thought it was more than fair. When he delivered and installed the gates, I was so impressed with the quality and workmanship, I thought I got so much more than I expected. Thank you, Tony!!!!

We had a tree blow over onto our custom built wrought iron fence. Had Tony come out and give an estimate. Turns out he was the one who built and installed the original fence. Tony manufactured and installed replacement of approximately 20 feet of custom made fencing, including painting, welding, and digging new cement footings for the fence posts. Job was done promptly and for the estimated price, which was reasonable as well. Tony returned our calls promptly, was very helpful, his workers were pleasant, and the work done was excellent. We would definitely hire Tony again for any fencing work we needed.

I contacted Tony after reading a number of positive reviews on Angie's List. He arrived on time to our appointment for an estimate. After showing me samples of his work, I explained what I wanted. He sketched out some designs for me. He had a good feel for what I was trying to achieve. The fence work was unusual since I wanted to use iron to extend a fence over an existing low brick wall. He was able to do the work in a way that complimented the wall. He was also very accommodating in regard to color. I had a specific color in the Dunn-Edwards paint line that I wanted to use. That was no problem (That is his go-to paint brand and had a set of color chips with him at the estimate.) The project took two weeks from estimate to completion. I consider that lightning fast compared to shops that I have used in the past. (Bear in mind that the vertical posts had to be set in concrete a week prior to final installation, so it was only a week from estimate to phase 1 of the installation) Overall, I thought they were pleasant to work with, very responsive and their prices were reasonable.

The gates are beautiful and well-crafted. Tony and his staff are very professional and responsive.

I went to Tony's Fencing and Ornamental for his price. Once he started working I discovered he was really nice and professional. He always answers his calls and addressed my concerns. His quality was good. His communication could be better, because he didn't let me know ahead of time that the lock was not included in the price.

They just finished the work this morning. They were professional, on time, and returned phone calls. They listened to my questions and concerns. Their number was given to me by a major iron gate manufacturer who couldn't sell to me directly. They delivered an absolutely top-notch product that was competitively priced. They were actually anywhere from $300-$800 lower than other ornamental fencing companies here in Central Valley. They are awesome. We are going to use them to redo our front double iron gates. Tony has also teamed with a very professionally done binder with pictures of other work that he has done for his clients. He keeps it up-to-date every 14, 15, or 16 months. They are beautiful.
