We went to showroom for a tour and decided to go with the company. They showed up promptly, poured on site, removed bad work, then re-poured. They then disappeared and would not return calls or e-mails. I contacted the state license board to file a complaint and when they called Mr. Lloyd he denied having done the job. I have my canceled check and cell phone records of numerous calls back and forth between us. The license board wanted a bid to remove and replace the countertop to move forward with my complaint. I had two companies come out and look at it but neither would remove it, as it could damage my new cabinets. I cannot move forward with the complaint without the estimate, though I don't understand why. I would be happy just to have my money back and start clean, but Solid Solutions has completely blown me off. Both contractors who looked at the job were appalled at the poor workmanship and said the guy obviously didn't know what he was doing. The counters are still in place but we have not moved into the house. As an aside, the workers (Lloyd and another guy) were very sloppy and careless and spilled something on my newly installed slate floors and left a huge mess everywhere. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. I can't believe he denies ever having been to Hanford and doing the job.
Description of Work: I ordered concrete countertops (kitchen) for an extensively remodeled home. The first attempt by the company to pour on site failed and was removed for a second try. It failed again, and the countertops cracked and workmanship was extremely poor. It is completely unacceptable for the focal point of our home.
