Anytime people deal with solar You just have to be a really informed customer to know the difference between PPAs, leases and buying out right. You've gotta really do our homework The solar companies around here, for the most part, are okay. I don't have any complaints about them. The guy I've been working with has been fine. They have been accommodating to my changing my mind 500 times. I signed a contract once and I reneged it because I am still learning. The guy I was working with wasn't lying to me about what I had. I just didn't understand and he explained it to me. He has been very patient and he is not pushy. He will call occasionally to see when I am at and if there is anything he can answer for me. All of the delays have been on my part trying to decide if solar is really right for me and how to go about it short of paying for it out of my own pocket. I haven't paid any out of pocket. I have not had any dramatic issues with dealing with them. They are widely used here and I have friends that have used them. I would recommend talking to 3 companies if you are considering solar and RGS should be one of them. I will consider using them.

Description of Work: They installed a solar array at our home. I would not use this provider in the future as they have moved to a solar rental system. We bought ours outright and did not want to rent the system.

+ -1 moreWe interviewed 3 companies, we chose Real Goods Solar because they were on Angie's List and they came highly recommended. They also offered a time frame that we wanted and that was o be done in a 90 day time frame. What happened was it ended up being 6 months so that was just kind of a big issue. The product on our roof is good and we're happy with it so far but the whole installation process was really, really hard. I advise to get the time frame in writing.
