They were very good and very capable, but they were very expensive. The people who did the work was excellent. They came home for the service, and that was expensive. I think they have an office here. I would go to their office so I would not necessarily have to make a house call.

Arrived on time - 2 guys. Worked for a couple hours. For the most part the work is done. They took our tower and are still cleaning one hard drive up. I was just shocked at the cost. They said they didn't even charge me for the minor networking stuff - good thing! They need to give a real estimate up front.
Description of Work: We have 5 computers. A couple just needed to be networked. A couple needed to be cleaned up. One had to have the hard drive cleaned a virus removed.

You're right! $1,200 is a lot of money for a few hours of work. I want to break down the cost for this call to help explain the charges, then compare those charges to an hourly rate. We don't charge by the hour, we charge by the job. Before any work is started, the charges for the work are approved by the customer. Most customers will have us work on one or two computers per appointment, so it is unusual to work on 5 computers in one appointment. The average time we spent on each of your computers was 2 hours. For some of them we spent a significant amount of time on, such as the one we had to bring into the shop, and others we had working in no time. But we spent a total of 10 labor hours working on your computers, about 5 hours per person we had on-site. We performed 4 computer tune ups, which includes virus/spyware removal, windows updates, registry cleaning, unneeded software removal, speeding start up, performance tweaks, and all software for security. We also performed a complete back up and reinstall on a a 5th system. We installed a router, and network cards for your systems and configured your wired/wireless network. For parts and labor the cost was $1,241. If we had charged an hourly rate, such as our largest Fresno competitor, at a rate of $125/hour the charge would have been $1,250. However with the hourly cost several hidden fees spring up quickly. First, you signed up for our service plan for all of your computers. This essential gives you a tech anytime you need one. You can call in in the morning, and keep that tech tied up all day. Have him troubleshoot your network, install programs, tutor you on using Microsoft Office or Quickbooks, chat about what the best camera on the market is, anything! Second, we warranty all of our parts forever. As long as you own the system we will come out and replace them for free if anything goes wrong with them. Third, we get the job done right! If we screw up and take longer to work on a problem the cost is on us, not you. You don't have to make sure we are working efficiently because if we don't your costs don't go up. Any hourly employee knows the longer you take the more you get paid, so why work quickly? Last but not least, we are the largest computer repair company on the west coast, we have hundreds of thousands of customers who rely on us everyday to make their computers run at peak performance. This means when you need us, we'll be here. We aren't the cheapest in town, but we are the best.
