Contacted to see if they could install a doggie door. Made appointment for 2 pm -- did not show until 4 pm The guy who showed up unable to do the task. Indicated he would return the next day with Larry to do the job. They came back at appointed time but then indicated it would be a 2 day job. I questioned the time frame and Larry indicated that because outside was stucco that it would crack and run. I was apprehensive as to whether these guys could do this task. Offered them an out, told them I would get someone who can do the job. They opted out Thank god They are supposed licensed contractor unable to do such a simple task!!! Wasted two days with these guys Very happy I didn't pay them any money
Description of Work: Indicated he could perform a service and was unable to do so

this didnt go well, we contacted him for reimbursement and he never returned our calls, we may have to file small claims.
Description of Work: We bought this home in August, and quickly found a HANDYMAN SERVICE CENTER flyer on our door. We had just bought a commercial stove and needed wiring run for it. Seeing that the bottom of the flyer stated he was licensed we called and got LARRY to give us an estimate and a date to wire the stove. He had a helper come with him, and said he had to open a wall in my garage, go into my attic and drop a wire. He said the wire itself would cost $X amount and we paid for the wire & he went to pick it up at lowes or home depot. He then returned with his guy, and started the work. Larry was so concerned with another job that he left ours, and left his helper to do the work. While pushing the stove back his helper broke our countertop, Larry took the borken piece saying he would sand and fx it, and we never saw or heard from him again. We assumed all was fine with the stove until April 2013 when we turned on our air conditioner to find it wasnt working. The air conditioning crew came out, with of course a fee, and found that Larry and his guy never ran any wire..they CUT the wire to my air conditioner, fused it to my stove, which turned out to be copper to aluminum wire, with no junction box, in my attic panel which is in my sons bedroom. They said this was so dangerous it couldve burnt my house down, starting with my sons room. By then I had to pay for the air conditiioning people to fix that, and then hire NEW electrical people to fix the stove wiring AGAIN. Larry had also charged us to snake a drain saying it was clogged with paint, we also paid extra for that, which we had to have a second plumber out to fix what Larry didnt. This man clearly doesnt know what he's doing, and damages more that he thinks he can fix.

Larry came to do the bid and provided a cost of $1,078 to do the work including materials and labor. On the day he arrived with his two helpers to do the work, he took back the bid he provided for me, wrote the word 'estimate' on the top, and then provided me with a new cost of $1,492. He did this after his guys had already torn up the old small footstep in my yard and started laying the form for the concrete, not before he began work. I was able to negotiate him down to $1,400 but we were still out an additional $322 more than we planned. When his guys came in to replace the wax rings, they cracked one of the toilets and water leaked everywhere. We had to call Larry about the damage and he showed up with a replacement toilet that was much smaller and cheaper than our toilet. We felt put on the spot that we weren't allowed to pick out the replacement toilet to get close to matching the other fixtures in our house like our old toilet did. On the day that the concrete was to be poured, Larry had to completely rebuild the form his guys had built because it was all wrong. The slab we ended up with is absolutely inferior in quality and workmanship. Larry did not tamp down the concrete so you can see huge air gaps from the side. The surface is bumpy and pitted, the edging is jagged and broken off in places, and the cuts designed for cracks are jagged, poorly formed, shallow and deep in different places, and do not run all the way to the edges of the concrete. The pattern in the surface is irregular and in one place Larry applied a bad patch where the concrete broke off when he removed the form! Concrete is all over the side of my house and the garage side door. We asked them to leave without completing all the work and offered them $1,000 instead of the $1,400.. In summary, Larry does not listen closely to what you are describing and he is always worried about going too quickly in order to get to the next job. He cuts corners in order to finish fast and this is why he makes big mistakes.
Description of Work: We made an agreement with this company to pour a slab sidewalk next to our home from the edge of the driveway around the side and past the side garage door. We also asked them to replace wax rings in two toilets, and replace two sections of old cedar fencing, part of which included a gate. We pointed out examples in our neighbor's yards about what we thought was good work and what we definitely DID NOT want.
