ART DOUGLAS PLUMBING

We had a leak at flex tube on hot water side. Bedroom on other side of wall flooded. Servpro came out and opened up walls, I was recommended another plumber but I had used Art Douglas plumbing in the past so I chose them instead, bad idea. The son must have taken over from the father poor customer service. They came out and fixed flex tubing but water heater was leaning toward wall and stand was soaked. Servpro replaced stand once plumber removed water heater ($400) and reinstalled. In that process recirculating pump worked prior to these repairs. Once put back in place recirculating pump doesn't work, $695.00 to replace. Tried to communicate with owner what happened to pump, was told it was old. He's a real jerk, Doug is his name. His plumber made a mess of our garage wall too.

He wasn't very friendly, but the work he did was good.

the guyRobert, developed an attitude as soon as he realized there was no usable cutout. I told him upfront toilet would have to be pulled. He quoted me the $155 for the first hour, $95 each subsequent hour. He also said cost of pulling the toilet was $150. I said that was high. Had never paid over $120, had prices gone up? He said that was what they had always been. Then asked in challenging tone of voice if I wanted to proceed. I said yes because it had to be done regardless of cost. He proceeded to do the work. Got the drain running. No roots. He didn't know what had caused stoppage. (Drain had just been cleaned out in May. Just small knot of roots that time.) I asked about cost and possibility of repair. He said he would write it up for me. He wrote up bill for $155. I asked about Sr Discount. He said I'd already gotten a huge discount. There would be no sr discount. He said normal charge would be $150 for pulling toilet plus additional $95 for drain cleaning and he was just charging me $155. (no mention of per hour charges as he'd stated before. I wrote the check for $155. He was here 45 mins. I wrote down the time because he was so insistent about the hourly rate I was afraid he was going to charge me $250. Then the invoice shows the $150 as a flat rate. I have previously pd by debit card. No quick way to look up Amt. I am 72 yo and disabled. I'm sure the previous invoice is in the "to be filed" box. He was rude and intimidating. I feel he owes me the strength discount.

Dale was a hoot! He called back right away? Locked out in my appointment ?Showed up on time. ?quoted me a fair price ? He was funny. He got the job done. Was very polite. And not ONCE did I feel uncomfortable about a stranger being in my house. I even offered him a cup of ?? He was kind to my dogs. And did not mind that my trained watched dog was ordered to follow him and monitor!

Rental home needed various plumbing jobs. I'd grown frustrated with flakes and ripoff artists. Got several bids, including several on Angie's List. One plumber never called back after promising to put together a bid. Another quoted me $7800 for a water heater replacement!?! Art Douglas Plumbing was fast w the bid, saved me money by suggesting I do the project another way, and was professional. Simple plumbing job... I've since used them to replace toilets, valves, and to repair a broken sprinkler system... even had them replace the sewer line which needed to be done for years. I'd use them again. Plumbing world filled w lazy and corrupt, but not these guys.

Unable to complete a simple repair. I hired them to install a new garbage disposal. I purchased the garbage disposal. Art Douglas charged me $265. A few days later, I noticed the connection between the dishwasher drain hose and the disposal was too tightly clamped resulting in a whole in the hose. I asked them to come back out and fix it. I also asked for an explanation. A second plumber came out and decided it was not an easy fix. I was referred to the service manager who explained that the dishwasher drain hose was not the right size to connect to the disposal. I asked why the original plumber had not simply replaced the drain hose. I was told that he was concerned about getting the job done quickly for me, so he did not replace the hose. I was told to buy a universal dishwasher drain hose from Home Depot, and then another plumber would come out to fix the problem. I did. A third plumber came out to fix the problem. He spent about 5 minutes clamping the broken hose to the hose that I bought before connecting it back to the disposal. Two dishwasher uses later, the dishwasher no longer drained. I called Art Douglas again. The second plumber came out for the fourth visit to my house for a garbage disposal installation. He quickly looked under the sink before informing me that I had purchased a low quality dishwasher drain hose, and that it was irreparably damaged... after two dishwasher cycles. He explained that this was my fault and left. For the record, the drain hose I bought was the one I was advised to buy. At this point, I don't care that I overpaid for low quality inept work. I would not let them back into my house to "plumb" anything, even if it were for free.

Great fast service. Installed quickly. Wife didn't have to take a cold shower!!

Across the board, Art Douglas is the best plumber in Fresno. They answer the phone, show up on time, act professionally, and do the job well. Any problems, they send a field supervisor and get things fixed, usually the same day.

He brought to the house just one equipment but they do a really good job. He was very thorough. It was fine. They know what they are doing. Some of the prices don't come cheap. Prices are in range.

I'm very happy with them. They were efficient, excellent and complementary by the time I need it done. Their price is reasonable.

CAme in, hooked up disposal but couldn't figure out dishwasher. Hooked up faucet. We realized, once he left, it was leaking. They came back out, charged us $75 more and changed a valve, fixed the leaking disposal. It once again started leaking once they left! We called another company to come out and fix it. The new company also hooked up dishwasher.

We had a plugged up drain in our kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. I called about 1:40 pm and said a service person will call. Robert called at 2:10 pm and said he had a call before us and would be out right after that. He called again at 2:50 and was on his way. Very nice man and very professional. He ran a cable done the clean out to clear stoppage. All clear! It took him all of 30 minutes from the time he got here until he left. Was $100 for the first hour and he honored our 10% off Angie's List coupon for a total of $90.00. Totally worth it!!

As always, the service was great. Robert does an excellent job of getting the work done efficiently while maintaining the cleanliness of the house.

Excellent, Korey did an outstanding job on my cold shower. He knew what was wrong, and went directly to the problem. The problem was fixed within minutes. I now have a happy shower, thanks korey

Replaced leaking water heater. Did a good job, explained everything thoroughly. A bit pricey.

After giving warning signs for several days, our water heater stopped heating altogether on a Saturday afternoon. After perusing the Angie's List website and reading the reviews, we called Art Douglas Plumbing, explaining that our 50-gallon water heater was located in the attic above the second floor laundry room of our house. Within half an hour Korey was at our front door. He climbed the ladder into the attic and quickly assessed the situation and informed us that we needed a new water heater. After he determined the cost for the difficult job of removing the old water heater from the attic and bringing up and installing a new one, we approved it and he prepared to do the job right away. Unfortunately, he was unable to get the lift that he needed to bring the old water heater down and raise the new one into the attic, because the lift provider business was closed by that time on Saturday afternoon. Korey disconnected and drained the old water heater and promised to return Monday morning with the necessary lift equipment and an assistant to complete the removal and installation. As promised, early Monday morning Korey and his assistant arrived with the necessary equipment and the new water heater and commenced to do the job. When they were finished, he invited me to take a look at the installation -- it was a beautiful job! As we completed the paper work and payment, Korey explained the details of the installation and the warranty, and he invited us to call if there was any problem. We feel that we received excellent professional service from Art Douglas Plumbing!

Tech did a very good job, removed all old equipment, installed new connections, water heater and earthquake straps. Left the job site nice and clean.

It was twice they amount that they quoted me. The next day apparatus they put in didn't heat so they had to put in a new one. They told me I didn't have a plug where the hot water heater was and that it was cheaper for them to do it than an electrician. When they talked me into letting them go ahead, my fixture wouldn't work and had to buy a new one right on the spot.

Company called to let me know repairman was on his way. Arrived on time. Worked and cleaned up. Very efficient. Would use this company again.

Installer did good work and was here1 to 1 1/2 hours. Refused to give me an hourly labor rate or quote me a price before and during the job. At end, sprang a $400. bill on me. Surprise! I was expecting $200. to $250. He is now done and what is one to do.

Very professional. We may need other things to be fixed at another date.

Dale came to the house within two hours after I called for an estimate on Jan. 11th. He called ahead to tell me he was on the way. He gave an estimate of$160.00. As it was late afternoon we decided to wait until Monday. We didn't want something to go wrong with the water line that late in the day. Since it wasn't life or death that was fine. Dale said he would be there Monday morning at 0830. He showed on time and completed the work in about an hour. In addition to the plumbing he installed a brace between the pipe and the wall so it would be more sturdy. Dale was very professional and punctual. I am pleased with his work. He guarenteed the work for one year. The cost of the work was a bit higher than I anticipated but I haven't had the need for any plumbing for several years so I don't really know. Art Douglas had many excellent reviews on Angie's list so that's why I called them. I knew the work would be done correctly and it was. The total cost was $165.00. I did check the work thouroughly and was pleased with the quality. With how the experience went I had no qualms about paying the bill. As a consumer in this climate I want to spend as little as I can. I don't think the cost was unreasonable. I will definitely call them again if needed because I know they will show up on time and will complete the work in a professional manner. Dale offered to haul the water softener away but I declined as I thought I could dispose of it without any problems. If Dale offers to haul something away say yes. Now I have to call someone else to carry the softener away. My bad.

AC quit 7/28. Art Douglas was called-responded 7-30. Blower motor was not in stock (Lennox) & had to be ordered from Kansas City.

Plumber was very knowledgable and did a good job. Wasn't too happy with the price, but who ever is?
