It went well , they were on time , performed work in a timely and professionial manner, and to expectations. A slight upcharge for some added work 9dryrot) that could not bee seen at time of initial inspection , but was reasonable.

Prior to buying my home, I had tri-city roofing inspect the roof at my real estate agent's recommendation. I was satisfied with that report. After purchasing a home I looked for a company to conduct the repairs. I assumed it would be easiest just to have tri-city roofing do the repairs as well (after all, it was only $790 worth of work); there was ample positive feedback on Angie's list to make me feel secure in this decision. The problem was that they came out to do the repairs while I was not home (which I had agreed to); however I was assured by Deborah from Tri-City that the workman would leave a card to indicate that they had done the work. Flash forward -- when I returned home after the work was supposedly done, I found no card; nor did I find it any other suggestion that they had actually been there. When I called-back Deborah was not available so I left a message. She layered left me a VM that said that the workmen usually leave a card however I could take the bill that they sent to me as confirmation that the work had been done. I expressed my concern that them sending me a bill in no way confirmation that the work that was done. It may work for them however it does very little to ease my concerns. When I explained this when I called back and spoke to Jessica, she asked me "what do you expect want me to do about it"? She did offer to have Greg the owner give me a call so as to confirm the work was done, to which I agreed. Five minutes later Jessica called back and said that Greg was essentially unwilling to call me. He did suggest however that because there was a one-year warranty on the work that was [allegedly] done and I should be happy with that. I think that their customer service is very poor. The fact that they were rude and felt that I needed to justify my concern made me angry. They may have go reviews but treating your customers poorly who raise concerns is just not good business. I will never use them again.
Description of Work: Roof after the work was supposed to be done inspection and subsequent repairs. This included fixing of minor roof damage as well as conducting routine maintenance.

There was another time that they came out and did some stuff for us and they didn't charge us at all. I think we had some flashing around our chimney which they checked and we thought was causing the leak. They looked at that and said that wasn't the problem and they replaced the tile and there wasn't any charge for that and I thought that was good. I think they are professional and do quality work.

Greg showed up to assess my requirements and provided me with a proposal within a day or two. He and the office staff (Kim, Jessica) were very professional throughout the process. The foreman, Oscar, and the onsite crew were very professional, cleaned up after themselves well. The work took 2 days (1 story home, 1400 sq ft). There was a minor mishap but everyone (Oscar, Greg, Kim) responded quickly and made sure things got resolved for me, which made me feel they really cared. Afterwards, Greg met with me for a Closing meeting: Gave me the warranty (Tri City's for the work and the warranty that came with the shingles), the signed permit from the city's inspector and the receipts for the invoice, all in a nice folder. All went well and I was very happy with the experience, considering it was my first time dealing with a reroof, which I was nervous about since you always hear horror stories contractors and unplanned outcomes, etc. I definitely would recommend Tri-City and their services and would use them again (but hopefully not since now I have a brand new roof).
Description of Work: It was a re-roof: Old roof had cement tiles with NO OSB/sheathing or felt underlayment (tiles over the frame of attic/roof). Services provided as follows: removed the existing tiles, applied half inch OSB then 30lb felt underlayment then composite shingles. Installed and paint new flashing and vents, high profile ridge cap. Removed old gutters and downspouts and installed new ones. Cleaned and hauled away old debris.

The owner of Tri-City Roofing, Greg, did the roof inspection before we purchased the home. the report said that they would recommend to replace the roof but to do repairs would be $900. We decided to replace the roof in one year and didn't want to spend the 900 buck on repairs. We thought that hopefully the roof would last until next year but because of the recent storms, we sprung a few leaks. I got a company I found on yelp to temporarily fix the leaks but the guy even said that our roof was shot and wouldn't guarantee the repairs would hold up. Sure enough our roof was still leaking. I did some additional research online for roofing companies and I looked up Tri-City on angie's and BBB. I gave them a call to get a free inspection/estimate. The receptionist was professional and courteous while setting up the appointment. Greg, the owner, came out right on time to do the estimate, He went on the roof and had a verbal quote right on the spot and explained some of the details of the job and that it would probably take 2 days. We have a very low slope and in some areas it was almost flat so he suggested that we needed to use a torch down application in those areas (only small part of the roof). He took down my email so that he could email me a written quote. I got the quote that afternoon. I got the quote, in an email. on Friday afternoon and in the mail on Monday morning I got a signed hardcopy of the quote with a sales kit. His team works fast! I was impressed by how professional they were so I decided to go with them. I called their office to let them know we wanted to move forward and they said they would drop off shingle samples for me to choose. Greg dropped them off two days later. I asked about the next steps with Greg and he said his office will file the paperwork for the permit and inspection. Because we have a mobile home, it is inspected by the state which could take 10-30 days to get the inspector out here. Well two days later Tri-City told me they got the permit already and they will schedule to start the job on Thursday. Their office called and left a message for me on the Monday of the week they were scheduled to start work and told me that the inspector only had time on Tuesday (they very next day), and asked me if they could start work tomorrow. I said no problem! The office said that the crew will be there at 8am. The next day about 6-7 workers showed at at 8am just like they said to start taking off the roof. The rang the door dell to let me know that they will be starting work. They got the roof off by 11am so that the inspector could do a check. Oscar seemed like the foreman on the job that day and showed me the details of the roof and how they were going to do certain parts. He definitely knew what he was talking about and I was very comfortable with him on the job. He stayed until the inspection was done. They left 2 guys for the rest of the day. I periodically went up to the roof to check on progress and to make sure the things that Oscar told me were getting done. The two guys that actually put on our roof didn't seem as knowledgeable as Oscar. They might have been but maybe it was because of the language barrier. They were however, very professional and worked very hard to get the job done. It ended up taking 3 days (1 extra day) to complete the roof. I was fine with that as long as it was done well. Their office called to let me know that they were finished and scheduled a time for Greg to come out to be me the invoice and all the rest of the paperwork. We did a final walk through of the roof and I paid Greg. I got a "PAID" invoice by email an hour later just like Greg said. Pros: Their office communication was GREAT! Everything that Greg said was delivered, and fast! The crew was professional and courteous. Great Price! Cons: I was surprised that Greg or Oscar wasn't there to over see the job. The job wasn't done EXACTLY how Oscar said but I think they are minor aesthetics things. There were a few placed in the plywood that seemed very soft that I thought would have been replaced but weren't. CONCLUSION I think that my roof should be leak-free and is sound. Their office is great! I gave them an A on everything but a B in quality. Although I'm sure the roof is leak-free, there were some aesthetic things that I thought they could have done nicer such as the valleys and some corner areas. I think that if you have either Greg or Oscar actually on the job and overseeing, it would be better. They both definitely show that they are all about quality and they know what they are doing, however if you don't have them there on the job, it is up to the crew to hopefully carry out the quality standards. Maybe it's just comforting to see the actual owner of the company, who can make final decisions, overseeing the job. Overall they get an A-. It would have been an A+ if Greg or Oscar was there to oversee.
Description of Work: Removed existing Roof, install 2-ply of 15lb felt, install and paint all new flashings and vents, apply 30 year GAF Timberline dimensional shingles, torch down application for a small portion of the roof, install high profile ridge cap, clean up and haul away all debris. They replaced 1 sheet of damaged plywood on the roof. Provided 10 year transferable watertight warranty on labor. Permit and Inspection We have a triple wide mobile home, about 1,700 sq feet with a low slope.

Response from Tri-City Roofing
We appreciate the feedback. Greg the owner is responsible for selling the jobs as well as doing numerous roof inspections throughout each day; Oscar oversees multiple jobs throughout the day as well. We would never leave technicians on a job that we did not have 100% confidence in their roofing ability. Due to the slight pitch in the roof, this is the most effective long term application for keeping a mobile home water tight.

Our roof was WAY overdue for replacement. Greg saw the condition of our roof and pushed forward the installation knowing a series of storms was on the way. Workers were courteous and cleaned up everyday upon completion. The office was always quick to respond to all my questions and were very thorough with explanations. They were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Tri-City Roofing.
Description of Work: Removed existing wood shingle roof. Installed 40 year roof. Replaced wood rot. Applied half inch OSB. Applied 30lb felt underlayment. Installed and painted to match all new flashings and vents. Install high profile ridge cap. Installed new pre-painted seamless curved aluminum gutters and downspouts. Clean up and hauled away all roofing related debris. Installed new skylight.

Part of the work went well, but the majority did not. The roof itself I believe it is good, but I am not sure. It looks good but I don't know. I have a 479.00 solar roof fan that I don't have a warranty for. If something goes wrong I have to go through them. Hopefully all the issues are taken care of, except for the fan. When I called he was pleasant but once he got the job it was downhill from there. I pick them because they were on Angie's List and close but I would not recommend them. They didn't clean up very well and I couldn't even let my cat out.

After calling two other roofers on Angie's List, Tri-City was the only one that answered. They came out on Feb. 7, 2009 with everything they needed to fix our roof including the right color tile. Now thats something. While here they observed the gutters needed cleaning and repair along with cutting the trees over hanging on the roof. That work was delayed due to rain. It was done on Feb. 21, 09.
Description of Work: We had leak coming through our tile roof. Once the weather broke Tri-City was able to come out and fixed it immediately. Also while they were here they mentioned our gutters needed to be cleaned out and repaired and cut some of the trees back also.

They were great. Greg explained the whole process to us, talked to us about the products so we could pick the replacement roof, & gave us a prompt quote right there on the spot. The crew arrived when they said they would. They were courteous & polite during construction. The foreman was wonderful about answering questions & coordinating with us. They cleaned up along the way, & did a great job cleaning up, handling the permits, & everything. We were very happy with the job.

The property involved is located outside of the area that TCR normally operates. When I informed their office that I was referred to them by a previous TCR client, TCR was willing to bend its rule. Christ came on-time to survey the project involved. Subsequent paperworks and scheduling were conducted efficiently and professionally via phone, email and fax. On the scheduled workday, two workers showed up on time. They labored for slightly over two hours. I was satisfied with the quality of work and TCR's warranty. Knowing that TCR's price is not necessarily as competitive as others, I selected TCR mainly because TCR did some quality roofing repair work for a friend in Fremont at a reasonable price and warranty.
Description of Work: Tri-City Roofing (TCR) repaired a 2x6 (approximately 14 feet) along the rake edge of the house. The job involved include: removing rake and field tiles along the rake edge, installing a new primed and painted 2x6 and re-installing the field and rake tiles. Matching paint is provided by the property owner.

This company is very responsive. From the start when we contacted them to the initial meeting with the owner. Once we selected them, they were able to schedule the work the same week. The workers came in the first day to remove the old roof and lay the sheathing and underlayment. The next day, they finished installation of the roof. The actual work was completed in two days. The only glitch was the price changed as there was a mistake on the calculation. The real price was $1,000 more than quoted. I was pleased with the quality of service so we split the difference and I ended paying $500 more.

There was a very easy decision to make when hiring them, I had seen a roof on a neighbors home and I wanted something that looked that great. You can drive down the street and see many Tri City Roofing signs in the yards of very happy customers. From the start to finish I was impressed. The crew made sure not to damage anything in the lawn while tearing out the old roof. There was not one single nail I could find in the yard. They got started early every morning and was kind enough to make sure everyone in the home was awake before starting. The roof looked beautiful when they were done and I get a number compliments from friends and passersby.

TriCity put a new roof on our home and just finished it today. Approximately 2000 feet - they took the old shingles and replaced them with top quality ones. We are very pleased as we got a great price in writing before hand and the job is excellent. It took 2 days. The men were professional and punctual and worked hard each day. I would definitely recommend this company. They cleaned up all their trash and stuff, too.
