 + -1 moreMy husband scheduled an appointment to get an estimate on repaving our driveway. The cost was more than we expected, and the presentation was just a little too pushy for his taste. He had to turn down watching their video presenation several times. The original price estimated was too high for our budget, and they immediately came back with a much lower price (thousands of dollars lower) when he balked. This seems a little supsect - why not give the real price to start out? In any case, we decided that if we were going to pave our driveway that this just wasn't the company for us. We've probably received about ten follow-up phone messages from them in the past two weeks. One of them was at 10:30 p.m., berating us for not having the decency to call them back. Of course we don't want to talk with them - they've been bothering us too much!

 + -1 moreWe have always liked the idea of concrete pavers, and decided to consider them for the patio surrounding our pool. The saleswoman was nice enough, and I had confidence their work would be good. We signed a contract and made the $1000 deposit on our credit card. A few days later (and BEFORE a contractor ever set foot on our property) we decided that given the economy we should go for the less expensive concrete from a different contractor. We emailed and called to cancel, which they "understood" (although there were multiple calls later offering lower prices, which eventually stopped after I told them the work was already DONE by another contractor). However, every message requesting that they refund our $1000 went completely unanswered. The saleswoman just forwarded it to her manager. Her manager had to deal with the "home office". Nothing happened, and they stopped answering my emails. I ended up disputing the charge with the credit card company, gave them the email thread to follow as documentation, and the credit card company issued a credit. I couldn't believe how unprofessional the company was, given that they pride themselves on their service and being "Diamond Certified". They were completely lacking in Customer Service and follow through. So disappointed.
Description of Work: Signed a contract to have them install concrete pavers around our pool, but when I canceled it BEFORE a contractor ever set foot on my property they ignored my requests for my $1000 deposit back.

They gave us some ideas to change some things that we had started out with and they felt would look better, and now that its finished they were right. They matched the stone to the brick we have on the house pretty much. They cleaned up beautifully after themselves.

 + -1 moreWhile the rep was prompt, he came at 5:30, he stayed FOREVER. He was very nice, but continually dragged us into the next stage of the sales process. I had hoped he would show me the pictures, or take some pictures and get back to me with what it would look like and give me a rough estimate of the cost...but no, he HAD to go through each detail, made me watch a video (I finally said stop it), didn't leave and didn't leave, even when I was antsy to go start cooking dinner. My husband came home and the rep had to drag us both through everything--he was very well trained at doing this--even making us go out to his car at the curb and look at samples and pick something out before he would give us any pricing whatsoever. Remember, I was interested in having this done and if it were affordable would have done it, so I went through his process. FINALLY, after 2 1/2 HOURS of getting sold, we got an estimate. It was way more than we expected, and yet he still tried to get us to sign up on the spot. We refused, asked him politely to leave, and he still took his time leaving. He promised to call back, but he never did. Some other person from the company called back. When I told her we still hadn't decided, she said that their "special" price to us was up the next day...and I never heard from them again. We never did get the pictures showing what it would look like. They may do great work, but I sure felt like we were being just sold, sold, sold--not the kind of business people I want to work with.
Description of Work: We responded to a brochure by this company as we were interested in exploring having paving done on our driveway and walks and patio. The brochure promised that they would "show us" (the picture implying that they would take a picture of our house and add the pavers in digitally to show us) what it would look like when finished. Within a couple of weeks of mailing the BRC back, someone called to set up an evening appointment. He was prompt. Eventually we decided not to have the paving done, or at least not now.

 + 2 moreThe price was competitive with other companies. The person that initially came out for the estimate gave me some great suggestions for design, which really enhanced my ideas. They were very dedicated to the work. They had to break up the pavement of the previous patios and take it all by wheel barrow to the front of the house. They did not complain at all. I had to call with a couple questions, and someone got right back to me, which I appreciated. I have already written them a letter of recommendation. I would definitely use them again in the future and have already recommended them to others.
Description of Work: They removed two concrete patios and replaced them with the paving stones.

 + 1 moreThe work went well, the workers were competent and the project was beautiful on completion. It included several curved portions that required cutting the brick and these were done very well. (The bricks weren't hacked or chipped). Some time has since passed, and where a lot of water from the winter rains have washed onto the bricks, there is some buckling of the bricks which I'll likely call them again to fix. If a rain gutter drains onto the bricks, it'll definitely be good to plan on running a drain pipe to route the water away. Moss and weeds also grow between the bricks after the rains and you may like that or not. I apply Round Up where needed but some stronger or longer lasting herbicide may be an option.

 + 3 moreThey were great! We loved them. We had a idea of what we wanted and he came out and put everything into a design. They came out three days later and did the job. It only took a couple of days which was great because we were in a time crunch to get it done for my daughters graduation. I would definitely use them again. They were really expensive, but they were great, they didn't push the sale. They were very helpful and great at giving suggestions. There were left over pavers so one of the workers put in a path from the patio to the house.
Description of Work: The put in pavers for the patio and then they did a 10X10 block for the hot tube. They put in a retaining wall and a curved seating wall for the patio area. They also put a BBQ in.

 + -1 moreIt did not go well. I called the number they provided (877-728-3774) at noon on Tuesday, July 15. The man with whom I spoke said there was NOT a URL with my name in it (as I sat at my computer and saw it was real). He said they could remove me from their mailing list and that should take care of my problem. He indicated he thought it was a specious concern. First, I don't know how the URL goes away by removing me from their mailing list. Second, I am outraged that they would do this. Third, it appeared the man on the phone had no idea what I was saying, insisting my name was not in any web address.
Description of Work: I received a mailer from this company that indicated they had set up a URL (web address) with MY NAME (FirstnameLastname) as part of that address. When I typed it in, it indeed existed, and took me to their Systems Paving's website. I called to have that URL removed immediately - I said I wanted it removed today .

 + 0 moreEven though they worked through a pretty week couple of weeks in February the job went well. On one really wet day they had to knock off but before they did they covered the work site with a tarp. All in all I was very, very pleased with the overall quality of the work. Communication was good, they showed up as promised and did a good job of leaving the final project neat and clean.
Description of Work: I had Systems Paving replace both my driveway and the walkway leading up to my house. The driveway was your typical poured concrete that had cracked and discolored over the years and was due for replacement. The walkway was very narrow leading up to the front door, visitors almost had to turn sideways to avoid being brushed by the landscaping on both sides of the walkway. We picked out a pattern and colors for the pavers then in short order things started to happen. At first the salesperson drew out a simple diagram of what we were going to expect, I wanted to walkway to widen out into the yard but he could not due it to do a large shrub in the way. About a week before the job started we met with the job foreman to go over the work to be done, I was extremely pleased when I mentioned to him what I had in mind that the sales person could not accomplish. The foreman just said "no problem" and took a can if spray paint and drew out on the ground exactly what I wanted, said they get rid of the shrub for me. He even suggest a terrific addition, a wide spot in the walkway that can accommodate a large planter or bench. He then suggested burying both down spouts from the gutter under the new driveway and putting a drain close to the street. The crew that showed up to do the work were GREAT. True craftsmen and hard workers, I was in awe of their skills at making curves with solid stone. One of the things that was done was a new entryway up to the front door. New pavers cover the steps up, I had no concept of what they were going to do but it was done by eye cutting unique angles and looks like a million dollars!

The experience was bad enough that. Nervous in having them make corrections. The work has now been completed to my satisfaction. They were prompt and courteous in their response.

Had numerous experiences where the salesperson promised, the operations manager said the time frame was impossible, but took the check first. The showed up late and did not make commitments. Promised to finish in 3 days and demolition was not completed by the third day. More sales and project managers than workers. The two Mexican laborers seemed to have come from a day labor assignment. A complete mismatch from sales commitments to performance.
Description of Work: Complete replacement of the driveway and walkway with pavers. Salesperson committed to have it complete by a critical (to the client) date. A complete miss. The project manager admitted that there is a disconnect with that saleperson and that he has done this before to clients. The poor workers are caught in the middle.

He kept me informed as to what was happening with our order. The demolition crew was punctual, polite, and very accommodating. They cleaned up after themselves. Victor and his installation crew were also punctual, polite, and very accommodating. Victor, too, kept me informed about things and was responsive to any concerns I had or might have during the installation process. Craig, the field supervisor, kept me informed, responded promptly to any concerns, and came to our home to check on the progress of the workers every day the workers were here. We are very pleased with Systems Paving's performance and would not hesitate to recommend the company to others.
Description of Work: Pavers were installed on driveway, walkway, and porch. We chose cream, tan, and brown pavers in the company's Old Town III pattern. The whole process took a total of seven days during which we were unable to access the driveway. We had access to the porch and walkway for all but a total of four hours after the pavers were sealed. I am more pleased than I even thought I would be with the finished product. It feels good to deal with a reputable company. The company is Diamond Certified and provided our family with addresses of previous installations that we could examine in order to make our final choice of colors and patterns.
