Sunny Appliance Repair

The repairman was very professional, quick and he did the job. I just think this was a bit expensive. The part was $45, the labor was $225 for a total of $270. He said he could (and did) give me a 5% discount for being a first time customer. Since there is a $80 service fee charged if you don't get the dryer fixed, so by the time I call someone else out, I am still paying too much. He said there is a 20% discount if you a return customer, so I am thinking there is a built in 20% premium right up front Like I said, I have no complaints with the repairman, but $258.75 for 1/2 hour of work just seems expensive to me. I don't care if you call it a flat rate for labor $450/ hour is expensive.

Installer worked quickly, diligently and professionally to complete the task. He protected cabinets and hardwood floors from incidental damage and left the area clean.

The person that came told us that the water heater is leaking. When we asked how much it it would cost he called his boss and the boss came back with an amount somewhere around $2500. While he was waiting for his boss to give him a price, I checked online how much it would cost and the estimates where between $1300-1500 including installation. Needless to say we told him that we do not have a deal and informed him how much it would actually cost with other companies. His boss said no, "that is their price". He did drain the existing water heater as originally agreed.

We woke up on a hot Saturday morning and our refrigerator wasn't cold. I called around 9:30 and a technician was at our house within a couple hours. He quickly guessed that there was an ice buildup preventing proper operation, and after removing a few panels in the freezer his suspicions were confirmed. He worked diligently for over an hour to remove all of the built up ice, put everything back together, and cleaned up the mess. He also tested the defrost sensor and confirmed that it was operating normally, so no replacement was needed. He was kind, efficient, and fixed our problem.

Scheduling was easy. I used their coupon for consultation on Angie's list. But the technician was not able to make it on appointed time. They communicated with me promptly about change in schedule ahead of time. I really appreciate their efforts to value my time and give me a heads up. Technician, Kevin, came as re-scheduled and did a thorough check and gave me options to decide on how I want to proceed. I am very satisfied with their work ethics and work quality.

He systematically determined the problem, found a screw that had made its way into the water line and drain, and removed it. He then confirmed that everything ran correctly and was done.

Diagnosis done--no repairs or parts needed.

Our washing machine was making a burning smell. Technician Keven came out, estimated the repair (a gasket needed replacing) and came out a few days later to repair it. He charged us less than the estimate. As it turns out, the whole washing machine was on its way out. We called him out again. He told us we needed to get a new washer. He returned the check we had given him for the previous repair and only kept the check for the initial estimation visit. He was really nice, prompt and professional. We will definitely call him again if our new washer needs service and highly recommend him to others!

They charged us $85 and didn?t fix the problem. They said it would be $650 for a new motor, so it would be better just buy a new one. They left the washing machine out, left water all over the floor after trying to drain the tub that was filled with water. They never cashed the check, so I assumed they realized that they hadn't treated us well and weren't going to charge me. Then a few days ago, they cashed the check. The check was written in December but not cashed until 5 months later.

We called Sunny repair, they were prompt in responding to us. He checked it systematically & told us the problem and ways to deal with in future. We haven't had any problems with washing machine since then.

The technician was able to come in 2 days and fix it on the spot, for about 1/3 the price of a new dryer.

The technician arrived promptly on the diagnostic service call. He was also efficient in determining the problem and gave us a reasonable estimate on the parts and labor for repairing the dishwasher.

Both times they were prompt and professional.

Took two service calls but he worked through that strategy with us in advance and it was our choice to try the minimal fix first and see if it was sufficient.

Gas dryer was fixed in a timely manner

Work done well, replacement part cost $75 , labour inc diagnostic visit $210 Total cost $285, service man on premises less than 40 mins in total. I see the labour cost as extremely high.

My relatively new (2 yrs old) dryer went on the fritz. It's stacked above the washing machine, so three other appliance repair shops I contacted wouldn't come look at it. Sunny Appliance did, they diagnosed the problem (soap that had been stored above had spilled onto the control unit) and got the part to fix the problem. Unfortunately it seems to have been a very expensive part - nearly the cost of replacing the unit altogether. But, at least this one didn't go in the landfill and we can dry clothes again.

Prompt, polite, and efficient. Some communication misses, but Sunny's was always responsive and I would hire them again.

Thorough diagnostics to determine the problem

Terrible! The technician came to our house and looked at our dishwasher. He determined that we needed a replacement part. The technician told us that he or his boss would order the necessary part and call when it had come in. When I didn't hear from them in a week, I called Sunny Appliance back. I was told that the part got lost in the mail, and once it arrived, someone would call me back. I spent over 3 weeks calling and re-calling to ask about the status of the part order. Each time I talked to someone, they said that the part got lost in the mail. They continually promised that someone would call me back when it came in. Nobody ever called me back. I called back today, and the answer was the same as it's been for the last 3 weeks: the part is still missing, someone will call you back. When I insisted on talking to the manager, the person on the phone told me that the truth is that the technician did not know how to install the part. I was then asked if we had paid anything for the technician visit. I told him that we did pay a fee for the visit and I asked if Sunny Appliance had any record of our payment, the answer: No. Unbelievably bad service.

Great. Tech found a thermocouple was bad and replaced it. Tech had to order and come back a few days later, all for the original quoted price.

It needed a new control panel which is over $200. I was ok with that, but not the $285 in labor to install it. I ended up buying a new range. My dad and a friend also used them, labor was very high and in my friends case due to the quote bought a new washer. Now I wonder if everything is a control panel issue and if there is a cheaper fix. My stove was only 3 years old. I would ask up front what their hourly labor rate is.

A repairman came out the next day, quickly diagnosed the problem (faulty relay/overload module, a common refrigerator failure), and replaced the faulty assembly. The repairman was friendly and professional; he also helped me better understand exactly what had gone wrong with the refrigerator (which, as an engineer, I appreciated).
