Pacific Coast Termite Inc

On Sunday, April 1, my wife found termite droppings on a bedroom window sill and then a little termite mound where they had bored through the casing. The next day, I went through the termite companies on Angie's List and selected three from whom to get estimates.On April 3, Jason Coonce, one of their estimaters/inspector, and Robert, an inspector, came out and did a thorough inspection of my house. They found only the one spot where we had found termites--no termites in the attic. Then we talked about possibilities and decided that the best route, though costly, would be the most effective (Note: I gave a "B" for price, but if there were a place to rate Value, I would have given it an "A". The best approach included taking care of the immediate area for termites, creating a termite barrier around the house (Mainly because I know my neighbor has lots of termites.), sealing off the house from pests, mainly rats. and replacing the insulation with TAP insulation. After reading all the proposals, I selected Pacific Coast Termite, Inc. Work began on April 19, with the first job being to get rid of termites. The crew came in, did the work, cleaned up, and were done in 3 hours. Then came the insulation crew who vacuumed all the old stuff out one day and blew in TAP two days later. In between those two days, the rodent expert came to do Phase one, applying Detour. Phases two through four took the longest because they want to be sure that all the rats were gone. The job was completed on May 16.Usually I will select a small company over a big one, but in this instance, I am happy that I selected Pacific Coast Termite. Everything they did was thorough. All of the crews were well-informed, something I was glad about because I ask many questions (What's that?, How toxic is that? How long will it last?, etc.) All of their workers are very hard working and professional. One of the main concerns of the company seems to be, "If you find anything wrong after we leave, call."If I had only wanted the termites taken care of in the area they were found, the job would have been quicker and cheaper. I think I did the right thing by doing a complete job. I would recommend Pacific Coast Termite without hesitation.

I liked them. I would use them again. They were respectful of the house. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very good.

They did 2 hours of work. They couldn't have been nicer. I think they may have broken the electric eye that operates my garage door. The foreman told me later that they had people on their crew who could have helped me with it for free, but they gave me a substantial discount because of their mistake.

We discovered the termites. They came out and evaluated the situation. They then did the treatment for us. They were the cheapest in price. I would use them again in the future.

Pacific Coast started at 8:30am and finished around 3:00pm. They started in the attic where they had found several areas infected with termites. Then they went under the house and treated those areas. I asked about masking those areas to be able to tell new infestations. They said they did mask those areas. They also treated outside the house and had to drill holes in the siding to treat. They replaced some wood trim around the house that were infected. They also sprayed the perimeter of the house. They were very professional, told me exactly what they were going to do, and cleaned up the areas inside and outside the house. The wood trim they replaced looks good. The wood has been primed so I just need to paint them. They patched up the holes they drilled. I would definitely do this treatment instead of tenting. The house did have a strong odor the first night so we did not sleep at home. We are having them do the pest control as well but waiting until we re-roof.

They were very dilligent and had the lowest pricing for orange oil treatments. They came out right away and redid a spot they had missed.

They use organic products. The service was free because when we bought the house 3 years ago we paid about $1000 for them to inspect and treat our house. Their price was good.

They did a good job. They were punctual and there were no issues.

The only thing I was unhappy about was the repair work and the price of the repair. The repair work was okay and the inspector passed it, but I just felt it that the price was too high for what they did. The quality of their extermination was good. They were very responsive. They were on time for the appointment.

They use green products. I was happy with them as I had checked out other company and I hated the people that they sent out. They have been very responsive. When they use these green products they usually have to come out a couple of times. I have a contract with them for two years. They do termites, carpenter ants and things like that. I only wanted to use someone that uses green products. They have been excellent as I had a very difficult project and they just sent a whole lot of people to work on the holes. They put the product into it and they even had the manager come out so that everybody works on it so that they could finish it one day. They were very responsive. Their price when compared to the other company that I was using before was more but considering that they would come out for two years it was okay. They come out right away if I call them.

They do termite work using an orange oil and bora wood. They injected it into the wood and it hardened and prevents termites from eating the wood. They were extraordinarily good and very, very clean. They were always clean and always put a mat down before they walked anywhere. They put on a full suit when they were in the attic and inverted it when they came down so none of the pink stuff would be carried through our house. They were timely and very, very thorough. They did a complete look under the house as well as all the attics. Before they treated they asked me if it was okay and then they came back and treated it. The young man literally spent six hours working at my house. His name was Jeff Whitcomb. My house is about 3200 square feet. I was very impressed with their work and I would recommend them highly. We had initial work done with them 2 1/2-3 years ago. If they have to come back, as long as we pay $200 a year for the service, they come back and do it for free. We re-opt for two years. For $400 they came back to check around the house for termites. Initially it was $1,300 to have the house done. We didn't want to have the house tented because we have animals and we have a lot of plants that are close to the house. This was a much better option for us because we are organic in our family and we didn't want that gas in our house. It was very good service. We really like the product. It seems to work. As long as we pay $200 a year, they will come back indefinitely. Any of the termite guarantees are only good for a year so it is really wonderful that we can have somebody come back and check on our house. The pricing was competitive with any of the tenting organizations that I looked at. Their responsiveness was superb. We will absolutely continue to use them. We have a lot of termites in our area. The part of the building was only two years old that had a swarm of termites.

I found them on Angie's List. They did it without fencing and they used orange oil which was great because we didn't have to vacate. The pets were fine with it too. The guys were awesome.

Started with a call after discovering a mound of powdery debris under one of our African drums. Inspector arrived on time, diagnosed the situation quickly and instructed us on the difference in appearance of termite and beatle debris. He inspected our drums and since this was not a service his company provided, he recommended we contact a fumigation company. Very helpful, very professional. Since this was an "inspection" call, we were not charged. We would definitely contact this company again if the need arises.

It is a pleasure to have the critters gone with orange oil and without the toxic tenting other companies do. We see no evidence of bug "droppings" anymore! The house smelled good and the crew cleaned up after themselves. We definitely are telling friends and neighbors about Pacific Coast Termites. I'm impressed with their two year guarantee.

Frank said that he would email the complete report that Tuesday evening or the following evening. I phoned on Thursday when I hadn't received a report. Frank said that he had family things to deal with and that he would finish the report and email it soon. I emailed him to be sure he had the correct email address. A week later we still had not received it. I phoned the office and the woman said that Frank had not finished or signed the report and that she would talk with him. I cancelled the next-day appointment for the work and rescheduled. It has been two-and-a-half weeks and we have heard nothing. We will cancel the rescheduled appointment. Something is very wrong with this company.

I was happy with the recommended treatment, the price and treatment application. The technicians showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. In the week since the treatment was applied, we've had no additional signs of swarming/active termites in the house. So far, so good. The garage portion of the treatment has still not been completed, and I will be calling them to request a third visit to complete the work.

I am having a termite issue again, so I am not sure that they were as thorough, but I had a big termite issue. I need to have them come back because the service is guaranteed. I spent a lot on that service and it was probably $11000. They scared me when they came out and told me how awful my house was and I never had it tented in the 35 years that I hold the house, so they made me feel bad that I did not do that. I was against tenting and putting pesticides in my house and that was why I went with them for the orange oil treatment. They were good when they first came out and did what they were supposed to do. They seemed to do a good job in what they did and they were certainly very thorough in rebuilding what they tore down. I was very pleased with the construction people. They came down from Orange County to San Diego and some days they ran into a lot of traffic and they had to call and say that they were on their way, but they were a little late. I would say that they were good.

On the day of the inspection, the inspector was on time for the appointment. He went underneath the house and performed an extensive search under all areas underneath the house. In one area, he had to dig a trench under some of the air-conditioning ducts that run under the house. He found a termite nest in the soil underneath the kitchen sink area. He provided a report with findings, recommendations, and pricing before he left. We elected to have the nest area taken care of as well as some preventative actions since it had been awhile since we had any termite treatments performed. The next day, we called and scheduled the appointment for treatment. The appointment was for 12 noon. They had not arrived by 12:30 so we called their office. We were told that the techs were running late on their morning appointment and that they would arrive around 3pm. This was the only negative aspect to the activity in that we had to call them to find out that they were running late as opposed to them calling us. When the techs arrived, they were very professional. One worked under the house while the other one worked outside along the perimeter. They laid paper down from the front door to the opening in the back bedroom where the access to underneath the house was located. The total service time was 2-21/2 hours. We were able to pay by credit card and received receipts before they left. The treatment under the house left the dirt with a wet, musty smell which dissipated in about a day. The smell was mostly apparent outside near the vents that allow airflow under the house. We were pleased with the work and the cost seemed reasonable for the work performed. There is also a 2 year warranty for the treatment.

They've been very good. I had an entire wall re-stuccoed. So, when they pulled the old stucco off the wood siding was exposed. I called them back out and they treated the exposed siding with boric acid. We coordinated their time to come out with the stucco work and there was no charge for it. It was really excellent service. They were prompt. I still have one more problem that I am probably going to have them come out and fix.

The guy seemed thorough, but I did not like that he told me that the price will change if I don’t take the offer by Friday. He asked me to make a decision then and there. I don’t like that kind of approach. He was quite professional. He told me then that he would be able to hold the price. I might probably call them back as I like the idea of using orange oil than anything else.

Overall very satisfied with the service, quality and the company's performance. However the I was asked to make a decision within minutes of the inspection to get the price, etc. which I though was not fair because it did not allow me the time to think through the inspector's findings and talk it over with my wife.

We renewed an annual warranty with them. He was here for a long time and seemed to do a very thorough inspection. It went well..

The people they sent out were younger gentlemen who were obviously well educated in their profession. They were still a little green around the ears but they worked very hard and got the job done.

Called on Monday arrange for an inspection and treatment for the ants. The young lady said a guy was available on Tuesday from 4-5:30P. She said she didn't know how much the charge would be for the tub area but stated "He doesn't usually charge much." Took off 3 hours from work and got home by 3:30. Found an estimate between the front doors. When I called the company, another young lady advised me that my appointment between 4-5:30 was only for an estimate. I really was surprised to have this poor service from a member of BBB and recommended by many of my fellow Angie members.

Everything went fine. We got recommended by a friend and they ended up doing everything they said they were going to do. They gave a diagram of the house and told us exactly were they were going and what they were going to do in each location. They did the necessary things to get rid of the problem like leaving orange oil and other products instead of tenting the house, which would have been a mess.
