Response from Professional Plumbing Inc
Hello Mr.[Removed member name], First let me apologize that you were not 100% happy with our prices. We try very hard to write offers that are straight forward and easy to understand. We base the pricing on the normal cost of the job, in your case installing a earthquake gas shut off valve, then we discount it, usually about 50%. It is our company policy to give you a "No Obligation" price to do the job BEFORE any work is done so there are no surprises. The additional price was to reconfigure how your gas meter was connected to your house line once we installed the new valve. This was to cover extra labor and material, pipe and fittings, not just a single part, There was no room for the EQ Valve so we had to offset the gas line to get the room needed. Since many cities are now requiring these EQ Valves to be installed we are trying to help Angie's List customers beat the higher costs of installing them. We have seen estimates from other companies for over $700 for basically the same job we did for you. One of the nice things about Angie's List is they will give you a refund if you don't like the price you are quoted and don't use the coupon. Once the customer does a little research, they find our prices are very reasonable with exceptional quality and service. In all the years we have been doing deals on Angie's List we have only had 2 customers ask for refunds. If there is anything else I can do for you please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Thank you William Horsky Owner/President
