+ -1 moreI needed a few little things done around the house and we had one "mystery" issue that we weren't sure if it was going to be something big or not. Mark called and we chatted so he could get a better idea of what was needed. he asked me to email a picture of the mystery issue. We set a time and date for the repairs. Mark called on the morning of our appointment to assure me he was on the way and he arrived as promptly as Los Angeles traffic would allow. He checked everything out and began to work his way through my list. From changing fluorescent bulbs in a fixture to tall for me to reach, fixing a door that wouldn't close properly, As for the mystery issue, we were afraid there was a water leak in the wall, where the pipes entered the house. Mark cut a piece of drywall away and discovered it was not a leak at all, some condensation but no leak. He replaced the drywall and kept everything neat and made sure he cleaned up after himself. He was very easy to work with. Next time I have anything that needs fixing I would not hesitate to call Mark. I had purchased the $99 special for 3 hours of work. With a bit of extra time and the cost of the supplies the total was $270 which is more than reasonable for what was done. I highly recommend him and his work. Thanks, Mark!

+ 1 moreEverything worked out very well! A lot of times when people come into your house, you feel very uncomfortable. However, with Mark, I felt very comfortable having him in my house. I very much appreciate that. He is very nice and knowledgeable. He was very punctual and easy to reach on his cell phone. The one time he was late back from lunch, he called to let me know. He is very courteous. He helped me with everything from the dents around my house down to the plumbing. He also upgraded my garbage disposal. I am very happy with the work.

Description of Work: I used this company via the promotional coupon procured through Angie's List. First disappointment was the fact that the service was schedule more than two months after the coupon was bought. (I called to schedule the appointment the day after the coupon was bought.) Also, I wanted to use Mark for a different service and spent time to e-mail him pictures of the area where the job was supposed to be done (fan installation at the enclosed, outdoor patio), but he stated that he cannot finish this job in 3 hours bought with the coupon. He quoted me the job after the appointment and it was a bit higher than other quotes. It's worth mentioning that Mark is not licensed to perform electrican work, but he still quoted higher for fan installation than all other licensed electrical contractors I contacted with regards to this job. So, for Plan B, I had Mark just install a simple towel fixture in a guest bathroom and improve the status of one of the toilet tank's flappers in my home. He did those two things in about an hour, meaning that I overpaid for two hours of his time. For that one hour, Mark provided me with an excellent, professional service. I would not recommend getting coupons like this, since they are almost exclusively the tools for contractors to upsell more services than needed or provided by the promotional value. I'm sure this is a nice additional percentage commission stream for Angie's List, but. to me, it decreases the value of the site membership as it is very deceptive.

+ -1 moreAfter I purchased my deal - Mark the owner called to see when I wanted to schedule. Unfortunately in order to get a weekend appointment if took a couple of months before he could be at my house. No worries I waited. I also gave Mark a list of what I wanted accomplished during his visit - one of which was putting a vent tube from the top of a newly installed bathroom ceiling fan to a vent in my attic. When Mark arrived we went up to look and told me he did not have the equipment to proceed safely. oK. I understand but if I told you I wanted you in my attic to install a vent tube before arriving don't you think you would arrive prepared? I thought so and this was disappointing because it was the main reason for buying the deal. Instead I had him put new plugs and switches in my bathroom. He plastered my kitchen ceiling where I had some lighting cans installed and plastered a bathroom wall where I had some electrical work. He proceeded to wait in his truck for an hour while it dried, came in it wasn't dry so he could not sand and my time was up. I was happy with the work accomplished but disappointed that I did not get the main thing I wanted done finished.
Description of Work: Light switches and electrical plugs replaced in bathroom. Bathroom wall patched. Ceiling replastered around new light fixtures.

+ -1 moreMark did a good job. This was a Angies List deal. He came as scheduled and all work was done correctly. As you can see from the list above, there was nothing extraordinarily difficult for him to tackle, but the work itself was slightly outside my own skill set, so I was pleased.
Description of Work: Installed steppingstone path, fixed door (new door knob and leveled it), installed new towel rod and fixed poor plastering job.

They also entered my name into their system twice, so even after canceling the package that I had purchased through Angie's list, I had to deal with more calls from them inquiring as to when I wanted the service. I am guessing that they had way too many people purchase the special offer and they bit off more than they could chew. They should have limited the number of offers to the amount that they could have handled
Description of Work: I bought the 3 hours of handyman work but then I canceled after several attempts to get in touch with them and schedule a time and date.

+ 1 moreThis was a very positive experience - unlike others I have had in past. Everything was discussed in advance and workmanship was excellent. I was made aware of all stages of work being performed at all times. I had requested that facia be painted by hand rather than being spray painted, since this was the side of the house receiving sun all day, and this was done to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: Mark installed new windows and replaced facia on back of house. Also nailed down some boards on patio. He also installed wood frames around inside house for new windows and also painted the frames. I was very satisfied with the work performed. Materials and procedures were discussed in detail before work was performed. I was very impressed with his carpentry skills. He was also very good at cleanup - unlike other repair people I have used on previous work. Note: the amount spent was for materials only. This was in addition to the $1,495.00 for labor. I wasn't sure which amount you wanted. I would definitely recommend this company.

Was not able to complete the job the job because he neede more pipes to fix it the right way and he was not a plumber and I should have one finish the job which I did and cost me more money. He did give me advice and on Varnish the vanity

Description of Work: Mark repaired dry wall in the living room and in the bathroom and painted the walls. He also resanded and stained my entry door. He was punctual, did a great job an the charge was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend him for future projects. He was very nice and I was very pleased with his work.

+ 1 moreI gave Mark a "C" in punctuality and a "B" in responsiveness because he did show up around 10am for the work - I typically prefer contractors to start around 8-8:30am. The phone number listed is an office line and not his cell phone, so if you want to reach him (especially when he's enroute), you may not be able to. The "B" in responsiveness is not his inability to accept changes to the project - it's in reaching him on the phone. He's good at accepting changes. I gave him "A" ratings on the rest because he did take time to protect the non-working areas from additional damage, the work was what I expected, and the price was very good. Be warned that, as he is the only one at Ameduri Construction, his schedule is pretty packed so you might not get scheduled immediately. I think the Big Deal was completed in early October and his schedule was so full, we couldn't schedule the second project until the end of November. Mark also noted that there were water stains on the ceiling which weren't wet and I knew were from prior leaks that the previous homeowner had fixed. However, since the areas were previously hidden by the original lighting, no paint or drywall repairs had been done in those areas. I appreciated that he checked to make sure none of those stains were fresh or indicated a new leak.
Description of Work: Hired Ameduri Construction for two related projects - the first part (the $99 Big Deal) was to remove existing 4 existing fluorescent fixtures and woodwork and replace it with a single 4-light fluorescent fixture from Home Depot. The second part was to repair the ceiling, put new drywall corners on the soffit (which the original homebuilder failed to do), and prime for repainting. The first part was rather easy - demolition of an existing structure and installing a simple fixture. The second part, due to the plastering, took two days. Mark did use drop cloths (even on the staircases when moving supplies and tools) and used plastic sheeting to reduce the amount of drywall particulates in the remainder of the house. The final result was what I wanted - a kitchen with a working light fixture and the ceiling ready for painting.

+ -1 moreHe did not finish and I understood why, because I had gotten the wrong replacement for french doors and by the time I returned he had to leave for his next appointment. He told me he'd call me from the car and that it would probably be 2 weeks until he could return. Since he was leaving at a time when I figured there'd be a lot of traffic , I told him he could call me the next day. Mark was very cordial and while here, very professional. However the date was 11/05/12. The date is now 11/27/12 and we have not heard or gotten a message from him. My drawer sits on the floor in the bathroom and the rubber that keeps the cold from coming in underneath the door is still off. I understand that he could be busy, but a phone call when he said he was going to call would have been nice. I would not hire him again.
Description of Work: We had wanted an attic ladder installed , but it turned out the stairs had to be replaced and the order was not scheduled to arrive until after Ameduri Constructions appointment with us. We asked Mark to install an outside light, fix 2 bathroom drawers that had broken sliders, put a cap on the sink for the dishwasher water to run out, and weather strip 2 french doors. He installed the outside lilght, put the cap on the sink, fixed 1 bathroom drawer and took off the weather stripping on bottom of door.

Description of Work: Mark put up a chandelier in my dining room. He cleaned up everything and put the old chandelier and box in my garage for me. I also wanted him to install three porch lights. Unfortunately, the porch light I choose for my front porch was too big and wouldn't fit because of the uneven surface. Mark thoroughly explained to me why it wouldn't fit so I would have this information in the future when I pick out another porch light. Even though I carefully measure the base of the light porch to make sure it fit (which it did), I didn't think to see if the size of the light would clear the uneven surface. I had everything ready for Mark to install the units so there wouldn't be any delay.

Description of Work: Mark did several small projects for me that I have needed done for quite a long time. Most entailed getting on the roof, something II really can't do. He painted three areas (one way up on the top of my roof, and two around the edges) that hadn't been painted for many, many years. He also installed an HD antenna on the roof, and put up a weather vane on my garage. Mark's a nice guy as well. Wish he was a little closer to my area. I would be happy to use him again.

+ 0 moreMark is a very personable person, I believe he tries to accomodate your requests but just doesn't seem to have the power to schedule himself correctly per the job. My experience after buying the 99 dollar 3 hour plan, is it has now turned into a 3 month project- do to scheduling of other jobs and still is not completed here in Novermber. This was a moderately simply job per Mark. but needless errands back and forth to the hardware store to obtain and then return materials took up the three hours. Then I was charged another rate because the three hours were gone. I would be very reluctant to call on him for services in the future unless there is a solid finish time line agreed on at the beginning of the job and he is financially held to it. His work is good- but after three months of delays while others are provided service first does not satisfy me as a customer.
Description of Work: Install Pre made wooden fences panels (already onsite and weather sealed) to an exsiting brick wall as a privacy barrier. continued scheduling problems, excuses and 2 months later job still was not complleted and Marc never returned to finish job. Weren't you the one that said taking advantage of a client is JUST SO WRONG?

+ 0 moreMark does beautiful work. Hes knowledgeable personable and professional. However there is a disconnect with whoever does their scheduling. I found that an email to Mark directly was MUCH more effective than any phone call to the main number. Also the woman I spoke to seemed a little perturbed that I was asking to reschedule. Even though it took a couple of months to get on his schedule we are VERY pleased with the results and would not hesitate to use Ameduri Construction again.

He completed every phase of the job testing the installation to make sure it worked properly and showing me along the way exactly what was being completed. His pricing was more than fair for someone who does this type of quality work. He left the work area clean and free of debris upon completion. We are having Mark back to install two more ceiling fans since the first two are working just great.
