we noticed water around the base of the toilet and thought the seal had leaked. they came and determined that it was only condensation. to make this determination they had to pull the toilet and then re seat it. they finished by laying a bead of caulk around the front 3/4 ths of the toilet, leaving a space at the back so that if the seal did leak, we would see water at the back of the toilet. any water we would see towards the front of the toilet we could now identify as condesation.

We had just bought our first house, which was a fixer-upper. The water main from the meter to the house was broken and located under the sidewalk. We also had other things that need to be done including hooking up a hot water heater that I had bought at Home Depot. The owner of the business came out to my house to evaluate the plumbing problems and give me an estimate. We needed to move in immediately, and we couldn't use the water until the main was fixed. After reviewing the problems, the owner did not get back to me. I had to call multiple times over a number of days and finally the phone person said that they were declining the job. I honestly believe that he was somewhat bothered by me buying a hot water heater from Home Depot rather than from North Coast. Another plumber came and did all the work, and we ended up paying around $1500 for all. I can't speak to the quality of North Coast's work (or prices), but it seemed to me that a plumber that picks and chooses what job they might want to take is not a good plumber to have. A homeowner has no choice of what goes wrong. The other plumber seemed happy to have the work.
