Phil was hired in Aug. 2010 to tear out and re-do an ugly red brick fireplace. We had no idea what design we wanted - only that we wanted the red brick and oddly shaped fireplace gone. He came to our house and helped draw up a design. We discussed a window seat and curio cabinet and he suggested ideas. We came up with an idea and he came back (promptly) with a quote. He came in and completely rebuilt the fireplace in two days. We had custom built cabinets installed (window seat, bookcase, and curio cabinet) - custom finished with a distressed finish. Entire living room was painted and ceiling refinished and painted. A back bedroom was turned into my sewing room. A closet was removed and cabinets were installed around the perimeter of the room for quilting supplies. I discussed my idea with him for a "design wall" for quilting. He quickly came up with a fantastic plan and custom built the design wall in the room. Both above jobs were completed in two weeks. We were so happy with his work that we contracted him to complete our "dream" kitchen. We discussed plans from mid Aug. to October 1st. This was the hardest part of the job for us. We researched what we wanted and what we didn't want and Phil listened carefully and came up with the plans. He submitted them to an architect and pulled permits and work began on October 5th, 2010. Six weeks later we have a beautiful kitchen that far surpassed our expectations. Phil gave us time and attention. We felt that he truly loves his work and takes pride in what he builds. We felt important to him. He cared so much about this job that he even made us a video tape of the experience. He knew how important this was to us. One thing we have learned from the jobs we had done here is to: Definitely hire a General Contractor! Once our decisions were made, we did not need to do anything. Phil was like a symphony orchestra conductor - all the subs performed according to his direction and no one left here without completing a quality job. We can whole-heartedly recommend Larsen Co.
Description of Work: We first hired Phil Larsen in Aug. 2010 to remodel our fireplace. We have lived in our home for 35 years and had a hideous fireplace. While he was in the home he helped us envision a window seat, bookcase and curio cabinet we had always wanted. He was prompt with his estimate - and extremely fair. We have never had any work done in the house and decided to "chance" it. His work was exemplary!! He was prompt - always did what he said he would do (and more) and came in under budget. His eye for detail in every area was unbelievable. He saw flaws and problems we never would have seen. He remained on the jobsite with every worker he brought in the house and left the house clean every evening. We were so thrilled with his work that we hired him to redo my sewing room. Altogether, the living room and sewing room took two weeks to complete. We hardly even knew he was in the house. We were so happy with the quality of Phil's work that we began to work on our kitchen. This was a much bigger project. Our kitchen was extremely small - hardly big enough for a family of 4. We could not envision any possibilities in this room. Phil listened carefully to us and came up with a plan that we can comfortably call "our dream kitchen." We now entertain family and friends and have had up to 25 people in our kitchen - comfortably. He helped us in every aspect of the planning process, including travelling with us to the cabinet company and hard surface contractor. He negotiated the best prices for us in all phases of the planning. When all the choices were made, i.e. appliances, countertops, cabinets, flooring, plumbing, windows etc., all we had to do was sit back and enjoy. Phil was on the job site everyday. We hardly knew his workers were in the house and we had up to 18 workers here on some days. The kitchen remodel started October 6th with the pulling of the permits and was completed by Thanksgiving!! He completed a 400 sq. foot addition in under 6 weeks! We are the only addition in the neighborhood that can claim that it does not look like an "addition". The design Phil came up with looks like it always belonged here. The attention to detail shows not only in the kitchen - but, on the outside of the house. He did a beautiful, quality job. He has asked us to please call him to fix any details we might find needing repair after he leaves. We can honestly say - we have found nothing. His standards are beyond reproach. We have been so happy with his work that we are now starting the process to have him remodel our master bathroom. I have recommended him to many of my friends and would be happy to provide pictures or details of the work done here at our home. It is so hard to find quality contractors these days. We had put off any work on our home for years because of the horror stories we had heard. You will not experience any of these problems with Larsen Co.!

EVERY SINGLE JOB HAS BEEN PERFECT. They are very prompt, very reasonable in their pricing, and do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. Every experience has been the same. Phil is a very " hands on" owner and he is personally there from start to finish. His sub-contractors have always been professional, timely, and clean up after themselves. I have had a few bad experiences in the past with other remodelers and its nice to know that I now have someone I can count on to perform the task at hand. The Larsen Company has been an excellent experience each and every time I have used them.
Description of Work: The Larsen Company has done more than one job for me. They remodeled a bathroom, changed our sliding door in our dining room to a french door, replaced a broken AC central air unit for our upstairs, fixed a broken gate on our fence and reworked sprinklers in our backyard.
