Eddie at H N Electric did a great job running all new wires to the existing panel. He gave us a few options on if we wanted a new panel or not and suggested we didn't really need to unless we were planning on certain upgrades or additions in the future. We also had 6 recessed lights installed in the living room which he also gave suggestions on where the placement should go. A few other items that were installed were; hallway light, 3 smoke detectors, 1 CO/Smoke Detector combo, 2 front porch lights, doorbell and new doorbell chimes, ceiling fans in 2 bedrooms, closet light with a switch on wall, exterior plug for Xmas lights, and new dimmer switch with lighting for dining room. The additional items that he ran and installed were all new runs of CAT6E cable, for HDMI and networking going from each room into a closet. We also had speaker wire run for a 5.1 system in the living room to go into the same closet. We paid for all of the extras (ie. parts, ethernet wires, speaker wires) ourselves. The process of rewiring for knob and tube is time consuming especially with the lathe and plaster walls that we have. He had to make holes in the wall to remove all of the knob and tube and run all new romex. The install looked very clean inside of the walls. We were given the option of pulling a permit or not. Eddie said everything would be up to code whether we got the permit or not. It seemed silly to not spend the extra $300 on a permit and our cost was still the same. Everything passed on the first inspection. The fit and finish of the completed job is great. Eddie was always early, never late or just on time, to the jobsite each morning. He also has a calm attitude which makes him very pleasant to be around. This along with the fact that his prices are inline with the other top rated companies on Angies List means he is one of the few companies that worked on our house that I would have no problems referring him out for friends or anyone who asks who our electrician was. I would not hesitate to at least get a quote and you will see why I have such good things to say.
