They double booked up with another roof at the same time. The guys got really stressed and were rushed to do the roof. The guy that owned the company came out to do some consulting. He was very pleasant but he didn't give them the full instructions. We had to have them back out several times. They pounded this one board in where it was all splintered, which is a good place for termites. They had some valleys and dips in the roof. They were a mess and so sloppy. They missed underlining in some spots as well. So I had to put on my roofers hat, which I don't know very well, and climb up there and look for problems. They came out and fixed what I asked for but I will never have full assurance that they did everything correctly. It was just rushed, sloppy work. The only way to find out for sure if everything is okay is if I have another roofer out. They said they were going to be here one time and they didn't show up on time and I ended up missing work. They said nice things but the work wasn't good.

I decided after living in my home for many years, and the recent windstorm in the Southern CA valleys, that my roof finally needed a makeover. I obtained 4 estimates, and was told by all of them that I needed the plywood base for the roof, as I guess roofs on older homes weren't necessarily built with them. Federal Building & Roofing actually came in with the lowest bid, so I decided to go with them, as I saw they had good ratings here. The team started promptly on the scheduled start date and got a lot of work done the first day, tearing off and hauling away the old roof and clearing out the debris. Richard left me samples of the Timerline Natural Shadow shingles on the first day, and I had up until the afternoon of the 2nd day to decide on a color. The 2nd day was the sheeting inspection from the city, so not much happened that day. On the 3rd day, most of the shingling, the 2 dormer vents, and 2 attics fans were installed, with only 1 side of the house remaining. On the 4th day, the remainder of the roof was completed. And I write this on the 5th day, when the final inspection is to occur. Richard Griego is the person who gave me the estimate, and he's also the person who I have contact with on any questions and progress on the job. He's very professional and extremely responsive. We exchange emails and phone calls daily. I had complete confidence that he would get the job done in a timely and high quality fashion. The shingles he installed were the Timberline Natural Shadow 30-year life in Barkwood. I love the color! I am glad I went with this color as the darker contrast is nice against the cream color stucco of our house. The pictures in the brochures do not do it justice.

Contractor came out and looked at 1 clay tile broken and vent cap due to winds, gave estimate that was too high, had gotten better estimates for the repair, but was very professional.

We have not found the money to have it done yet but the guy was very responsive and the quote was fair. He did a thorough job. I haven’t used him as far as the quality of work is concerned but he was very thorough. If I want to have the work done and when I can afford it I will certainly consider them. I really liked their professionalism. I would take a quote from them in the future.

The work done was very methodical and special care was done not to damage other roof tiles as they walked on the roof. As I said, I would use them again

They came out, evaluated the problem in detail, Checked the area all around the problem up to the ridge and then made the repairs. It was very windy that day and I didn't expect them to stay up there but they did and they completed the job and took pictures of the work. This company is top notch.

The guy was very prompt and very professional. He gave me a reasonable estimate but I am not having any repairs right now. He was prompt, timely and reasonable.

Contractor over delivered, demonstrated outstanding professionalism and value. I would highly recommend this contractor to all my friends and family.

They have been very good so far. They are very professional and show up when they are supposed to.

They performed the following: 1) they took care of all the paper works needed for the city 2) covered all the stuff that may either get damaged or get really dirty 3) dismantled my old roof down to the frame 4) put plywood on the frame 5) they had asked the city to inspect the boards they put up 6) they installed the new roof 7) cleaned all the debris and took it with them They stick to what they promised in the contract, (not being a roofer) they did a clean job, they added some vents that I have requested, and they were very professional all the way. If I had more money, I would have tipped them real good.

Very punctual, returned phone calls timely, showed up when said he would. Very happy with service.

Federal Building & Roofing ("FBR") provided an evaluation and estimate during our escrow, free of charge, when other roofers wanted to charge us. Their evaluation included a very detailed explanation and included pictures which was helpful in understanding the scope of work. After we closed escrow, I did some comparison shopping. Just about every roofer I spoke with tried to convince me that I needed a brand new roof at a cost of several tens of thousands of dollars in some cases. I did not engage FBR until several months after their original estimate was provided and they honored their proposal. FBR was punctual and professional and completed their work on a timely basis. I never had any problem with them whatsoever. I have heard horror stories about other roofers but had no issues with FBR.
