V3 Systems

Every big project has a few hiccups. Repainting stucco after replacing breaker box left a lot to be desired. I'll have to repaint it myself.

The representative visited my home and implied that he was there to upgrade my home alarm system. He somehow knew my name and telephone number, although I had not contacted the company beforehand. He somehow knew quite a lot about my current monitoring service. I suspected something was not right and asked what the new monitoring service would cost. He quoted a price that was much higher than what I currently pay and would not negotiate. I told him I wasn't interested. H closed up his clipboard and prepared to leave. I asked him for his card, in the event that I wanted to contact him later. He said he didn't have one. He also didn't have any literature about the V3 Security System company. He departed. I was alerted by my ID Protection Service on the next day that my credit had been checked by someone attempting to open a new account using my personal ID information. They told me it was V3 Systems who had done so. This is concerning, since I did not give him any identifying information (i.e., my Social Security Number). He did not indicate to me that my credit report would be checked - and I was surprised that he could do such a check without my permission or other notice. Since he did not give me any ID, I don't know his name. He was wearing a shirt bearing the V3 logo, and I noticed that V3 Systems was on some forms he had with him, so I believe he was not an imposter posing as a V3 representative. I reported the incident to my alarm system company and they initiated an inquiry into the case. They had not heard of V3, but said many companies in the security system try to POACH customers away from other companies. If anyone approaches you regarding V3 Systems security service, BEWARE.
