thanks to Angie, i found these wonderful people. after visiting there showroom and a visit from Jason, (owner/installer), at my home, we scheduled the installation. jason arrived on time and installed the unit with his assistant under 3 hours. the fireplace is beautiful and works perfectly. Jason and Carol are about the nicest people you could hope to deal with. thank you for making our home cozy.

This was a great experience from beginning to end; information gathering, sale and installation, all went very easily and smoothly. The office staff was knowledgeable and informative, I picked out the style I wanted and Jason installed it quickly and easily. He was on time, friendly and professional. There were a couple of glitches with the way my fireplace and floor were built, and Jason worked around them and corrected each problem as it arose, with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He is going to return to finish up and go over the use of the fireplace after my contractor finishes the wall around it. I expect this last little bit to go as smoothly as the rest did. I highly recommend The Hot Spot.

Easy to book and timely arrival. We looked for existing gas lines and utlities and discussed all the options for a kitchen. The problem was we didn't get to see a price list to consider as we were talking about the merits of the grill and other components. When we got the design with the measurements etc our "very basic" grill and fridge area would cost nearly $9000 to install. The consultation was helpful and worth the $75 paid, but the plans are useless as they are specific to the sizes of those components which we will probably not buy due to the cost.

I last used their service last December and I ended up costing more than the “Big Deal” because the “Big Deal” was just for a gas log and what it was for an upgrade but since I didn't have one to begin with I had to have a couple of other things added on to it. I did end up paying them around $400 or so. I had to have liked a new grate and I had to have the flame box and I had to have a lava rock and I had to have pretty much everything because I didn't have anything. I misunderstood what the add was for but I’m still not sorry that I did it because it still came out cheaper than if I bought the whole thing from the beginning with a brand new. They met meet my expectation. They guy that came out was really professional and was really clean. He laid down drop cloths and everything. He was in and out here just less than an hour.

It went great! Carol and Barbara were very nice and worked with several unforeseen schedule changes. Our installers were also great and got the job done in just a couple of hours. Thank you!

Everything went really smoothly. The only thing that I didn't like was that they did the install when I wasn't home and we had timed it so that I would be home when they were finishing so they could show me how it worked. I really wanted someone to walk me through it. They were really responsive.

Jason was able to install the fireplace a day early, whih was a great help to our mason. Since Carol had just delivered a baby, her stand in had missunderstood our choice of glass beads, Jason made a special trip out the next day to bring the correct beads, to make sure we were satisfied and happy. We are very pleased with Carol and Jason, we gladly recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

Nothing much to tell - I contacted the company and was told they'd get back to me. They didn't so I moved on.

Everyone at the Hot Spot was delightful to deal with. Carol went over everything with us in the store and explained all the possibilities . Jason came out to check out the fireplace, our gas key had been hidden in the wall so that was a problem but when Jason came to do the work he found a way to get to the area without having to go through the wall. All went well. We had had another local company come out and look at the fireplace before and they were not confident that we could have what we wanted, we are so glad we didn't listen to them and tried The Hot Spot!

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Carol and Barbara; I wasn't sure what I wanted done and was having difficulty making a decision; they guided me through the entire process. They were professional and fun to deal with. Jason did an excellent job with the measuring and installing, he was prompt, efficient and very neat. The entire process was extremely pleasant and professional.

Some months ago we were considering a patio kitchen using an island that we already had and we needed to have our indoor fireplace looked at. Our experience was excellent. Ultimately, we decided that it isn't the right time for us to built an outdoor kitchen. We plan to use the Hot Spot to service our indoor fireplace in the future, and when it is time to build that outdoor kitchen we will call them as well. Their consultation gave us the information we need to plan for the future.. We were impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and quality of the advice we received.

It was a great experience. Never done anything like it before. The BBQ has been a dream of ours for a long time, but did not know how to start and I knew I could not do it myself. Jason was a great listener and heard us load and clear. His design was wonderful. We decided that we wanted to move forward with Jaoson's design and with his services, but the cost was out of our budget at the time, so we are waiting until the spring of 2013 to begin. We also learned they other services (converting fireplaces to gas) and we will be doing that too. Overall it was a very good experience and I'd do it again.

After we decided on the fireplace we wanted, Carol set up the appointment and called the day before the installation. Jason arrived on time and completed the project in a timely manner. He and his helper kept the area clean. They were both friendly and kept on task. They installed the two gas lines with shutoff values for both locations in the yard for the bbq. We are so happy with the choice. We would definitely recommend The Hot Spot. They referred us to a contractor to replace the tile surround on the fireplace. The work was done by Greg Moniz of Moniz Construction. He did an excellent job as well.

The company was good to deal with - they missed a couple emails, but generally responded when I contacted them. They were busy, so there was some considerable time (2-3 weeks) in setting up an appointment. I had to cancel at the last minute, so that added another several weeks to the waiting. Overall from purchase to installation took 7 1/2 weeks. The gas logs look good, though it's not exactly a roaring fire - it's kind of like you're approaching the stage of dying embers - some flames, but not very large. There's no remote control - it turns on with a key turning on the gas and you hold a match or flame to ignite the gas. I wasn't sure if my fireplace was equipped for gas; I probably wouldn't have bought the deal if I'd known it wasn't, but I'd already purchased it when he came out to assess it. So it cost an extra $450 to run the gas line (the deal was $299 for the gas fire logs installed), and an extra $50 because my fireplace is wider than most (24"). Overall I like it, but it's not really what I expected and cost a lot more than just the deal. It would be nice to spell out in the deal how much extra it could be, or allow a refund if it's not what you thought (I didn't request that - maybe that would be possible). I felt I'd purchased the deal for $299, so I was stuck at following through with the extra costs.

I got the log set from the Big Deal so I also decided to install the gas fireplace to go with the logs since it was something I had been wanting to do for a few years now. I got a few quotes from other plumbers for the gas line installation and HotSpot was the lowest. There was some confusion, initially about installation fees, etc. but after a few emails, it was worked out to my satisfaction and Barbara and Carol's attitudes and professionalism were great. They scheduled the install and Jason was AMAZING! That guy worked his butt off and finished the job in the dark but was determined to get it done that day! He crawled under my house, climbed into my attic, drilled holes, ran pipes, set up the fireplace, and when all was said and done, I have a beautiful gas fireplace! I can't believe how realistic this looks!! So much better than a Duraflame log! I am looking forward to this winter and many fires on my hearth! Thank you Folsom Hotspot!

During the installation, the technician discovered we had no gas running to the fireplace. After I determined where the problem was (the previous owner had cut the line and capped it to install something else, and didn't bother reconnecting it) the technician came back over on the weekend, and performed the gas plumbing necessary for the gas to run to the fireplace. He was thoroughly professional, and we are very happy with the results.

Can't say enough nice things about this place. Very friendly and patient. Excellent customer service from beginning to end. They did a beautiful job on my repairs and the installation. They even matched the stucco on the outside of my house which is from the 1930's! I did my homework with a few other places in town and am very happy that I picked them. It's a beautiful drive to Folsom and well worth the service and great prices.

I have used them before and I am glad that I used them again. They are upfront and deliver what is promised. Good prices too.

Can't say enough good things about The Hot Spot. I've used them before and I just used them again for my rental property. They have stellar service, super friendly workers, great competitive pricing and they do an incredible job. They did their pre-site inspection on a Monday, I picked my unit and they were out getting everything installed by that Friday. I will use them for all of my fireplace needs.

They came in and did what they said they will, but we did not use them because their price was very high. They quoted us $20,000 for the in-built barbeque; we did not have any water or gas run out to it. I looked at their construction, it was very strong and it was wonderful. I did not need anything like that in my backyard. The price was certainly out of proportion to what we wanted to do. They were very responsive and there was nothing wrong with their services. I might call them if needed in the future although they are from Folsom and we are in Fairfield and it is quiet a distance for them to come here; but I do not know if they would come for an estimate.

This was an Angie's List promotion. It was for either gas logs or the "fireglass" - a concealed burner under "sparkling" fireglass. After much deliberation, I chose the latter, and am very pleased with the result/effect. The installation went smoothly. On time arrival, very good installation, and upon departure, it looked like no one had been there--e.g. the house was left spotless. I would definitely use these guys again. I don't think they're the cheapest, but I do think they give you great value and workmanship--which trumps cheap in my book every time. When we are ready to put in an outdoor kitchen, I'm calling these folks for sure.
