Gold River Carpet One Floor & Home

We went in not knowing what we wanted. Steve was very helpful with product choices. He came out to measure and made recommendations. He gave us an estimate and when we weren't quite ready to fund the project he said he would keep our information. Sure enough 1 year later we contacted him and he still had our original estimate with all of the products we wanted. Once the project was started, Dimitri and his son were amazing and put in very long days until the job was done. They were very meticulous and did an outstanding job. We will definitely go back for our next flooring project.

The company is the definition of customer service. We initially selected a dark hardwood, but it was too dark after installation, and there were many short boards in the product that we did not expect. We exercised the "beautiful guarantee" and Jack's installation crew took out the floor and put in beautiful wide-plank oak floors. They are perfect, with nice, long planks. We could not be happier. The entire organization worked to ensure that we were 100% satisfied.

A very thorough job of estimating the amount of carpet and pad needed for the house. Installers did an excellent job of removing the old carpet and installing the new carpet. To ensure an accurate fit, the installers also removed and reset closet doors when carpeting the closets. That may be standard procedure ... not sure. They also created a border (i.e. along the open hallway at the top of the staircase) that did not exist before. Very pleased with the outcome. The three installers showed up on time and completed the installation in one day. Initially, Gold River Carpet estimated that it might take two days to complete. Price of carpet and pad were a little more than originally planned. However, after considering all of the options, I decided to go with an upgrade. Both carpet and pad came with a 25-year guarantee.

Work was done fast, however they left glue for me to clean off the floor.

The process went very well. The installers were on time and did excellent work. We have two stairways in our house, one curved and one spiral. They both presented some unexpected challenges for the installers which cost them considerable extra time to overcome. Nevertheless, there was no suggestion that we should have to pay more for these unforeseeable difficulties and company assumed full responsibility for a successful project--which it was.

The house is 16 years old, cement slab, and I am the original owner. Alma, Anita, and Jeff (the shop owner) were all great to work with. They helped me educate myself regarding flooring types and ranges of quality, critical to success for major purchases. They also helped me choose colors and materials that complement each other to ensure that I would be happy with the result. I secured bids from other companies as well, and Gold River Carpet One was the most competitive and provided the best quality products and best customer service. The stone and carpet installers both finished the jobs in one day, working into the evening with my agreement, and they did the best jobs. Original estimates were 1.5 days for each, and I was happy they completed the work in one day. The engineered wood installer did a great job "salting" the darker pieces in with the lighter pieces. The engineered wood is a lovely blond maple, and there is a lot of variation in the coloring. It looks great next to the oak cabinets in the kitchen. It took quite some time to decide on the wood because I prefer lighter floors and current fashion is for dark wood so the selection was more limited. I chose high quality products because the cost of installation usually exceeds cost of materials. approximate cost, including installation: engineered wood floor in kitchen, dining room and hall $3,900 travertine stone floors in 2 bathrooms and laundry $1,600 wall to wall carpet in living room, 3 bedrooms, closets, hall, and master vanity $7,400 (included Temperpedic carpet pad)

Alma was my salesperson at Gold River Flooring/Carpet One. She has so much knowledge about flooring, and with her help, I was able to pick out the best flooring for my needs. The men that came to install the flooring were very meticulous in their work. They were very professional and whenever I had a question, they always had the answer. I will definitely use them in the future.

I had Anita out to measure. And it turned into a real consultation - the other guys didn't do that. She spend time with me going over several approaches to my situation. She was extremely helpful. When the two crews can out - one for kitchen and one for tile - I was impressed. Totally professional, experienced, quality workers. They clearly knew what they were doing and had minimal impact on the rest of my house. Respectful. Polite. Sense of humor. They had to come back to rehang a laundry door but they came back right away and fixed it quickly. The only thing I regret is that I didn't do this sooner - I love the new floors and I love the fact that it all went so smoothly.

I had my whole house?s flooring replaced (from old wood/carpet to tile/laminate) by Gold River Flooring. Started with me walking into the store to begin my project not knowing exactly what/how I wanted to have the flooring done, at which time I met Anita who upon talking through my flooring needs, provided me with lots of good information and design tips for my flooring needs. When she came to my house to measure, Anita helped me further by recommending where transitions should begin/end down to the types of transition strips selected. Scheduling for the installation was not an issue, they were able to line up both the tile and laminate crews to get the whole job done within 4 consecutive days per my request. Jack and his wonderful crew (about 7 of them came for the first 3 days) showed up right on time at 8am every morning, and finished at past 6pm daily to meet my schedule. They were extremely professional, detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and did quality work?.as reflected by the way they moved furniture, cleaned up after themselves daily, pointed out issues & recommendations when discovered (at one point water damages were discovered on the door frame base after carpets were removed), and finally the quality installation work they did, from what I could tell the laminate flooring I selected was a bit labor intensive to install as the pattern/design contains 3 different widths and staggered, each long plank had to be cut to size and laid manually per the pattern, and the floors came out flawless and beautiful! I also had contacts with Will and Staci from the store and they were very helpful as well. My overall experience on this project with Gold River was a very good one, I highly recommend Gold River to anyone.

After shopping around at different showrooms in the Sacramento area my wife and I decided to make a stop at the Sacramento Home Show. That is where we met Teresa (flooring consultant) for Gold River Floors/Carpet One. From the very beginning she was very helpful and honest with all of our questions. Yes, we had several questions seeing how a hardwood flooring install was something new to us. Teresa spent nearly a half hour showing us samples, answering questions and explaining the step by step process we would be going through if we decided to have the work done. Now that the job is fully complete, I can look back and say that everything that was said on our first meeting was done as promised and she was there for us throughout the complete process 100%. Teresa was always easy to contact and never rushed us on making any decisions, made sure she had plenty of time for us. The installation process was flawless! Gold River Floors are associated with several different installers and they will match you up with a crew the will get the job done the way you want it. Teresa set us up with the perfect crew. A crew that had an eye for detail and treated us and our home with great respect. The crew communicated well with us asking how we wanted everything to be done and was real good about letting us know how long they would be and exactly what they would being doing in each segment of the two day project. When the project was complete they left the work area completely spotless, left us with instruction on how to care for the floor and would not leave until my wife and I did a walk-through and was 100% completely satisfied. The Floors are Beautiful and the work completed is flawless! I may have been able to find a better price by a few dollars but from all the shopping we did I really don't believe I could find a company that backs up their promises, stands behind their installers and has a commitment to their customers like Teresa and Gold River flooring do. It's not easy to find companies who put the customer first these days so after doing business with Gold River Floors it has restored hope that there are some out there that follow through from start to finish.

A friend recommended this company to us when they learned that we were getting bids for new flooring. We worked with Alma, and found her very professional and responsive. Carpet One's bid was lower than 2 others we had obtained, and we were very pleased overall with the entire undertaking. Carpet had to be removed in one room, as well as old rubber flooring in the kitchen and laundry. The installation was extremely professional and we are immensely pleased with the end results.

Met with Greg Sasso at the Rancho Cordova store for assistance in selecting the right product and look. Greg is very knowledgeable and came out to our home twice with samples and ideas to confirm the look and durability and did a careful measurement and diagram for the installation. Joe and Ben the installers removed old carpet, and an area of ceramic tile and hauled it away Then Carefully Removed Hardwood Baseboards and set aside for reuse, and prepared subfloor (concrete) Installed Luxory Vinyl Tile with an attractive overlap brick work pattern Carefully laid out tile to align to major site lines in hallway, living room, dining room. Looks great - wife loves it. Installers Joe and Ben were pleasant to deal with and did a thorough and professional job. John works with carpet and made recommendations on the transitions between bedrooms and tile and it looks great. I would recommend Gold River Floors.

We were very pleased, starting with the way Anita greeted me when I came into the store. (I had visited another flooring place in the area. I wandered around for at least 15 minutes, poking through samples and making notes. No one could bestir himself from the central counter to see if I might be a living, breathing customer with money to spend.) I had warned my husband we would visit 2-3 flooring showrooms. However, we were treated so well at Gold River we didn't go anywhere else. I had a schedule in mind for the whole project, as we were painting most of the interior before the flooring was laid. New flooring requires emptying the rooms, and we only wanted to do that once. Gold River Floors accommodated my schedule easily and started the installation exactly on time. They had to rip out the old carpet and make sure the floor was perfectly level before they could start. They also removed all the baseboards and reinstalled them. Even so, the laminate was done in two days. Anyone who thinks of DIY flooring for more than a small space should watch these guys work. They know what they're doing and they have all the right tools and right equipment. They also disposed of all the old flooring. Their English was not the best, but we didn't hire them to talk to us. They communicated as well as they needed to. Some sections of baseboard were quite deteriorated and they replaced those at no additional charge. We moved out all the furniture except the beds. They even put the dust ruffle on the king-sized bed properly when they put it back in place. It's hard for two people to do that on a king-sized bed. When you are asked to sign off on a flooring project, make sure you check every door, including closets. Some were messed up, but they came back and fixed them the next day. The bathroom tile was laid by a different contractor and he also did a very good job. He pulled the toilets for an additional cost, even though we had initially been told he would not be able to do this. This is a vastly preferable installation, because it means we'll be able to replace the toilets without damaging the flooring. One bathroom was a DIY grout mess, left by previous owners. He cleaned it all up. He was slower because he could only work on one bathroom at a time. Otherwise, there would have been no working toilets in the house. Trained professionals think of these things. This is a very dusty process. As one of the managers at Gold River Flooring explained to me, it's a construction process and that will always be dusty. Stuff left in the house got dusty, including the bedroom closets. Stuff we stored in the garage got dusty. The furniture we stacked outside probably got the least dusty.

Excellent customer service. I had scheduled with another company, who cancelled the installation date after I had moved furniture out of the bedrooms. Gold River helped us when another company cancelled the install date. Gold River Floors were amazing. When asked if they could do the job quickly, they were fantastic and completed the job within 48 hours using the measurements I had from the other company. We did everything over the internet and I am so grateful. I have four children and their bedrooms were empty pending carpet installation. I highly recommend them and will use them again. From a thankful and satisfied customer.

I found Gold River Floors at Auburn Home show. I was in the market for carpeting, so I immediately made an appointment to have an estimate done. Will came out and measured and asked questions about what needed to be done. He entered this into his laptop and said all the info was now at the store, I could go by anytime to see the carpet selection. I decided to drive down that day and there must have been a glitch because my home measurements had not been transferred to the store. No big deal, I was helped by a very knowledgeable salesperson (I forgot her name) and she talked to me about all of the different carpets and the pads. I chose 3 different carpets and she said Liz (Elizabeth) would come by our house with samples so we can make a decision. She also called with a price once she received the house measurements. On the day Liz came out I realized I did not have a very accurate swatch when I was in the showroom and i was afraid the samples I chose would be too light. I called her and she ended up bringing 12 or more samples for us to view at home. She was very nice and helpful, even helping to choose between the shades of brown that had subtle differences. A week or more later we were contacted to setup a date with Steve and his team. This had to get postponed due to the carpet not arriving in time. They estimated it would take 2 days to move furniture and install. Steve showed up on time and we went over the house and what needed to be done. There were 4 installers total and they went to work. Didn't need anything from us, worked efficiently and did a good job. They broke out some tile where we wanted carpet,. but because of what was underneath, they would not be able to carpet over directly. My husband and went to Home Depot for floor board and we installed it to allow them to carpet over. The crew was able to finish in one day instead of two and I know they were tired and wanted to get going, but I don't see that they cut corners or did any shoddy work in order to do so. I do see some seam lines, but I think that is probably normal. I was impressed with how they carpeted the stairs, as compared to the shoddy job done originally on the house. I was very grateful for their expertise. I would say the overall price was fair, I chose a carpet that was pretty decent, not low end.

We've used this company before and had great service. Alma, the salesperson, is knowledgeable and great to work with. She made great suggestions. The installers were prompt, efficient and very tidy. My house looks like a work of art thanks to this company!

The man came out within a week and measure for the new carpets. Then the service manager call and we setup 3/14/2013 to remove the old carpet. He said to just call him when I was ready to install the new one. The guys came out and removed the old carpet and moved my furniture just like I ask. I completed the work I need to do on 3/22/2013. I called Gregg the service manager and we setup 3/25/2013 to install the new carpet. The guys came out about 9.30 or 10 installed my new carpet and pad cleanup and vacumed and were gone by 3pm. The people from Gold River Flooring were great..

The person that Gold River Floors sent out initially to do the consultation for the flooring really didn't listen to me, he was trying to push his ideas on me and I didn't really feel comfortable but then the person they did end up sending out did a really good job. They kind of redeemed themselves. The quality of the carpeting was not what I expected and for what we paid. I was disappointed with that.

When they striped the old rug and pad from the stairs they discovered that there was a gap of 1-1/2 inches on each side of each stair. They suggested that I hire a carpenter to install new stairs. I called my contractor and he installed new stairs. I then contacted Gold River Floors and they came out to pad and carpet the stairs. On the first installation, they prorated the payment so that I would not have to pay for the carpeting of the stairs. They left the carpet and pad for the stairs in my garage. They are very flexible and easy to work with and they met my price constraint.

I called Carpet One and described the work that needed to be done. A few days later, Reed Channel called me back and came to our office that same day to look at our floors and collect some information to prepare an estimate. Reed was professional, friendly and told me that he would get back to me. A week went by and no word from Carpet One. I called to follow up and left Reed a couple of voicemails. No one ever bothered to call me back. I was disappointed in the complete lack of customer service. Even if they decided that this project was not right for them, it would be nice to at least get a phone call letting me know.

Once again Dane was our installer and he did a great job. This install only took one day and looked great after he was done.

It went very well. They do excellent work. They even agreed to work on the weekends so that I would not have to take any vacation time.

We had a real good experience. From the get go the sales woman through to the 3 movers that put the carpet in - everything was professional and very filled out and written down. My husband and I had to have it down that they would move and replace the furniture how we wanted it. That was a biggie for us and they did. It was just great. The moving company has a private company install the carpet and they were all fantastic. It was 2,000 square feet of carpeting. I can't say I was thrilled with the price, but considering the quality of carpet we got I would give it an A..

From the sales rep appointment to the last day Dane was here, Gold River Floors never disappointed us. We are so happy with our beautiful floor. The whole process was flawless. The tear down, the prep, the install, and the finishing touches were professional and we are always apprised of the status of the job. We were so disappointed with the other company, that Dane and Gold River Floors was like a breath of fresh air. No excuses or no shows, no faulty product, no delays and rude employees. The company is true to their word, and that means a lot to us. We highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to have flooring done. You will not be disappointed.
