Awful!!! Here it is 4 years later and I sit here with an empty, cracked pool and the owner putting us off again and again, I would tell everyone to look elsewhere in building a pool. Nothing but unfulfilled promises and we can't even enjoy our hot tub as it sits empty as well, awaiting repairs that were promised but just don't happen. Pool started to crack almost immediately after construction. Looks like we may end up in court on this one. Don't go here unless you are ready for unanswered calls and work that just doesn't get done. Would give 0 stars if that was an option. Wish I had never gone with them.

Overall, I am pleased with the result. The pool looks very nice and all the equipment seems to be working fine. The project did take a bit longer than expected. Ground was broke in mid February and it is now the end of April and we just this week have all the equipment up and working properly. I could be swimming this week were it not for the cold weather and rain. But, it will be ready for the summer season. As we are not totally established in West Sac. and I am still working out of town, I was not available at times for inspections required by the city. I did not understand that the home owner had to be present and this was not made clear at the beginning of the project. This did cause one delay. Instillation of a supply line for the auto fill valve was changed for no apparent reason. They wound up running a line totally around my home to the hose bib on the front of my home when the city supply comes into the back of the house, only about 10 ft. from the auto fill valve. The line they ran around the house is only about 6 inches below ground level and I can see it being a problem in the future. It was already hit and repaired by another crew putting in an RV pad and working only 6 to 8 inches below ground level. The pad poured for the pump and equipment is too narrow to support the pipes to the solar panels on the roof and one is propped up on the dirt. A project of this size and expense should have a walk through with an official or owner of the company at the end of the project but I am not aware of any planned.
Description of Work: Dug and installed a cement pool, cement all around the pool, all the equipment and solar heating for pool.

It was fine for the most part. The biggest complaint that I have is that there was a lack of communication between the company and myself and the other people at the house as to when the subcontractors were supposed to be doing their work. In addition, the subcontractors need to ensure that they are not leaving a mess (e.g. empty soda bottles, cigarette butts, etc.) at the site. Overall we are happy with the pool, and if they were to fix the issues relating to the messes left and the communication I would be more than happy to recommend them to other people in the Sacramento area.

Overall, I am enthusiastic about the service we received from Cookie Cutter Pools. The installation of our pool was well organized and most efficient. Once construction started, workers were here every day except when we were waiting for the plaster to cure. All the subcontractors and their workers were most efficient and professional. They kept us informed of the processes, the progress, and when the city inspectors needed to come approve each phase of the installation. The fact that Mr Evans made repairs, without charges, three years after installing our pool is most amazing! If one is considering installation of such a swimming pool, plan ahead! Talk to several companies and especially their customers, current and past. Be sure to have a detailed contract that includes a schedule of tasks to be performed, when payments are due, when the inspectors will come, and what one's own responsibilities are, for example, that one is responsible for sweeping the pool while the plaster cures for 10+ days. Be aware that heavy duty equipment, backhoes, etc. will be coming into the area. Any landscaping, plants, garden, etc. will be leveled and part of the fence must be removed for the heavy equipment. It will be dusty for the duration. Subsequently, the homeowner will be responsible for replacing the fence in order to pass the last inspection. The City of Roseville has specific rules about keeping the streets undamaged by construction equipment and any residue of materials used in the construction. Be sure the contractor is aware of such local rules.
Description of Work: The recent service was to repair a leak in our swim pool. This was done as quickly as conditions permitted and at no charge. Cookie Cutter Pools built our pool in late 2009. We had just bought a house that had no landscaping in the back yard. We decided that a swimming pool would take up about half of the available space. At one of the home & garden shows my son and I talked to Richard Evans of Cookie Cutter Pools. He promised that he could build/install a pool within six weeks. After hearing horror stories of others who had waited months to have their pools completed, I was skeptical. Mr Evans referred us to several of his customers who were having pools installed and who had had their pools for some time. They all spoke enthusiastically about their experiences with the company. At the end of the summer, we contacted Mr Evans who provided a detailed contract of services that would be performed and a schedule for the work and payments. Once the work was started, workers were here every day, except during the 10 days for the plaster to cure. It was our job to sweep the plaster each day. Otherwise, workers and their supervisors were here. The subcontractors were most professional. We had the cement contractor install walkways around the house, as well as, around the pool. The supervisors kept us informed of the work being done and the times that the city inspectors would be checking and signing approval of the progress. During construction, the workers were careful to clean up at the end of each day and not leave any marks or items in the street where they parked trucks and equipment during the day. After completion, all equipment was gone and the area was as clean as possible in our still-to-be landscaped backyard. Unfortunately, because we started to late in the season, it was too cold to swim in the pool when it was completed. We have enjoyed the pool for the past three years. Recently, the pool maintenance company, Spa and Pool Emporium, were having trouble keeping the chemicals balanced. They suspected a leak that was draining the water. Because of the automatic fill system, the water level remained constant. They described possible causes and locations of such a leak. I called Mr. Evans of Cookie Cutter Pools and described the problem. Because we had stopped the automatic filling, he wanted to know the place where the water level stableized. When I reported to him a few days later, he said he would send someone out to find and repair the leak(s). A week later, he called to say his son would be there that day. As soon as I hung up the phone, the young man knocked on our door. He made the repairs at no cost!

I called and wanted to have an estimate done for a backyard pool. I spoke to Richard, and he explained to me that he sold sqaure footage of a pool and there was set pricing. He said that he didnt need to come out and give an estimate unless I was ready to sign a pool contract because as he said and quot;a pool sells itselfand quot;. I was a little taken back by the way he dealt with me on the phone, but after numerous estimates and phone calls with other pool companies, I decided to call Richard back and have him come out so I could sign pool contracts. Dean showed up to my house to do the contracts, I explained to Dean everything we wanted in our pool, and we agreed to the price and signed the contracts. We had decided that we wanted to have the construction start in late August, but do to the fault of the city and the issuance of the permits, we were not able to actually dig until mid September. The mornig of the dig, I got a surprise call that an addendum would need ot be made so that my pool would have a raised bond beam and that it would cost me a little bit extra. I decided to go ahead wtih the cost. The pool was finally dug and it was looking great! Next came the re-bar and plumbing. Those things went off without a hitch. After the re-bar and plumbing came the electrical and the gunite. The pool was really starting to take shape and look fantastic. Finally the concrete needed to be done, and after about 3 full days the concrete was done and it looks great. The plastering was done about a week later and that same day, water was already in the pool. Overall, there were some times that Richard and I argued a bit over the construction, but I am happy to report that we are still friends and he did an absolute beatiful job on the pool! I would recommend this company to anyone that is interested in buying a pool.
Description of Work: We had a backyard pool built. Very interesting to watch a pool dig, plumbing, electrical, re-bar, gunite, concrete and plastering.
