James D McConnell is the general contractor and owner of this company. He was hired in October of 2017 and abandoned the job December of 2018. He was consistently a no show for work and when he did show it was very little work completed during the time he was on site. The work that was done by he subcontractors was good but the work done by him and his personal employees was armature at best. I am now having to go the state licensing board and hiring an attorney to fight to get money back that was paid for work not completed. I also have to go after his contractor's bond to have work he incorrectly did redone. This company was started after his other company fell apart during the time frame of our job. I will also be reviewing that company as well so others that I have spoken to can leave feed back. For those of you who are worried about the people you let into your home, know this. Jim (is what he goes by) was consistently showing up to work on the site after smoking marijuana and also drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana while working. This is not someone you should let work on your house. He also threatened to place a mechanics lien on my house for failure to pay when it was an insurance job and the final portion of payment only gets released after the job is completed. he never completed the job and now I have to hire a different contractor after I have already paid this one. Stay as far away from this contractor as you can. That is if he still has a license after the state licensing board reviews this case.
