Hudson Appliance Repair

Joe was on time, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Diagnosed problem and I decided not to repair due to cost of parts and refrigerator and freezer are still functional.

The fee was for the analysis only, which took all of 15 minutes or so. The recommendation was to get a new appliance. I asked about replacing the main computer board, and was discouraged to think of that as a solution. After he left, I did the research on my own, found the only place in the country that made the computer boards for appliances. I ordered it. Within in a week it arrived. I did call Hudson and told him what we had researched, found the computer board and he was willing to come back and install the new computer board for another service fee of $79.95. We decided to try it ourselves first, with a tutorial from the company's customer service department, my husband and I installed it pretty easily. Total cost for the computer board, overnight shipping, and a lot of dry ice, we spent around $325. The refrigerator is working as new and has been since July 2016 to present, we are in March 2017...."knock on wood". BTW, Hudson was prompt and friendly and close by, so we would hire them again if the need arose to repair or analyze before we go out and buy a brand new appliance....back in July 2016, a new refrigerator (like/kind) was going to run around $1,200 minimum...that's why we opted to try to repair it first.

It was a rather minor repair. It was good service. He did a good job.

Called my regular repair people and they couldn't get to see me for another 5 days! Ugh. Headed over to Angies List and found Joe Hudson. Called and he picked up immediately. I explained the problem. He had me text him my address and initially told me that he would be out tomorrow. Couple of hours later, he texted again - could he come out today? What? You bet! Four and one half hours after my first call, I'm washing my clothes!! And the best thing - he takes Applepay! Thank you Joe Hudson!

I contacted Hudson and Joe came out within a couple of days. He fixed the light and ordered a new fan (vent) switch. A couple days later he came back with the new switch and had the vent fan working within a few minutes. I guess the other companies did not want this small job. I am so grateful that Joe was able to make the repair. He was prompt, polite and reasonable. I would use this company again.

Joe quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered the needed part, and returned two days later to finish the repair. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. The price seemed extremely fair as well.

Joe has been fixing appliances for us for years and has always done a great job. He is very responsive -- you hear right back from him. He schedules work promptly and shows up when he says he will. He is great at what he does. He once got our refrigerator up and running in an emergency call shortly before a party we were having on a summer day. On the most recent call we were dismayed that the handle part for our 17 year old microwave is no longer made so couldn't be repaired.. But we know Joe gave it his best try. If Joe can't fix it, it's time to buy a new one!

Joe responded to my original message within a day. He was on time, diagnosed the problem right away and had it fixed in a timely manner. His rates were reasonable including a 10% senior discount.

Joe was very professional and punctual. He responded to my email request for an appointment within 24 hours and kept me updated on his ETA on the day of the appointment. After inspecting the dryer, Joe identified the part that needed to be replaced and took care of it after explaining how much it would be. He also replaced an old burnt out bulb which he had noticed was no longer working, and vacuumed the dust and dirt from within the dryer. Joe also provided some very helpful tips for maintenance and a referral for duct work. I will definitely reach out to Joe again for any appliance repair.

Hudson really bailed us out!!!! We were pretty desperate. Came first thing Monday morning as promised. Felt we received super professional service. Hope we won't need appliance repairs; but if we do, we know who to call.

Joe Hudson got back to me via E-mail right away after scheduling the service call on his website and E-mailed when he would be here and the cost for the service call. He called beforehand, and arrived the next morning and had the problem diagnosed within the hour. He was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He found the problem right away and unfortunately to repair this unit (compressor was out) it would cost more than purchasing a new refrigerator. I appreciated that news upfront rather then trying any repairs that may or may not work. He helped to advise where to start looking and brands that in his experience have been more reliable. I am very pleased with the service received, will call him again if needed and recommend to others who need appliance repairs.

Sounds easy enough to replace the range light bulb in an OTR microwave, but when I tried to replace mine, it shattered in my hand and I couldn't get the remaining pieces out. We tried, but mangled it more. Mr. Hudson came out and got the mangled pieces out and replaced it. Easy for him. And he gave me more information about replacing the grease filters. A very nice man and a professional job.

Took everything apart and checked all the connections and cleaned the surfaces and rear of appliance. Kind of subjective because the smell was real mild when he arrived. He suggested crushing some charcoal and placing it in a bowl in the refrigerator and the freezer. It seems to have worked. Also followed up with information for our ice maker which is partially not working. Was very professional and I would recommend to anyone.

Came back from vacation to find all contents of refrigerator spoiled and rotten. I called Hudson Appliance he came the same day and fixed it immediately. Very professional and knowledgeable I would recommend this repair company and will always use them in the future.

He was very friendly and professional. I have no complaints about him. He was prompt. He actually wound up being a little early, so that was good. We're happy with his services. It was good.

Pros: Same Day service (was able to come within 4 hours of my call to him). Experienced. Able to trouble shoot the exact problem within 15-20 minutes. (bad high limit thermostat) Presentable. Cleaned up after himself. Cost was reasonable for a same day fix. Warranty of 90 days on his work. He was professional and very kind. He came to see what was wrong and i was lucky that it was a drain problem. Joe went right to work and immediately found the problem and fixed it. He replaced the food that he had to move in the freezer even though I said that I would replace it, he replaced himself. I highly recommend this man.

Great - very easy to work with. Was able to come out within a day of calling and identified the problem quickly, ordered the part and came back within a couple of days to install it.

I originally selected three appliance repair companies from Angie’s List based on the number of high ratings they received. However, after reading through several reviews posted on Hudson Appliance Repair, I decided to try this company even though the company did not have as many reports. This decision proved to be a WINNER! I contacted Joe Hudson, explained the problem and asked about costs. We set an appointment so he could diagnose the problem. In less than 30 minutes he was done. He said he would check to see if the parts are still available since my washer was 28 years old. We discussed repairing the washer versus replacement and he was very honest with his input and felt it was worth fixing; I agreed. He called about 3 hours later to say the parts were available and provided a full estimate for parts and labor. He ordered the parts, called when they arrived and we worked out a day/time for the repair appointment. He called 15 minutes before arriving to let me know he was on his way; he arrived promptly and got right to work. He had to practically disassemble that old washer to fix the leak and then the dryer to replace the belt and drum seal but this is what I learned from talking to and watching him work. Joe is very professional. He is organized, focused, methodical and knowledgeable. He is efficient, neat, conscientious and very careful not to make unnecessary messes. He worked solidly and diligently, first on the washer then the dryer. He didn’t mind me watching and learning or asking a bunch of (interrupting) questions. He was polite, considerate, cordial, pleasant and extremely kind. The repairs were completed exceptionally well and the whole experience was flawless! I feel fortunate to have found this company and could not be happier. It’s not every day you find a company and person that can be relied on and trusted. I wish I could find other providers that I need for the rest of my outstanding home maintenance issues that could provide the same quality and level of service as Joe. Joe and his company are highly recommended!
