Matt called me back within the day I left him a message. He appeared to be professional and knowledgeable. He was a bit off-putting. He asked me about my project and I explained I was looking at stucco repair, possible patio cover and concrete work. When I told him my house was built in 1942, he immediately went into the possibility that my house could contain lead if I had not done a lead test and since work was already done (foundation repair, window retrofit) without a lead test, he did not want to take the risk of doing work. Understandable. Since I am concerned about lead exposure, I will get a test done. I asked him if there was no lead present would he still be interested. But he explained that since I am considering selling the house, he would probably be too expensive and declined to bid. What's interesting about this comment is that Matt doesn't know my financial situation. Expensive is relative. His web site would lead you to believe his company does everything. To quote "From installing a new plug to fixing a roof leak, HomePRO has you completely covered from the roof down. We also offer our clients seamless gutters and gutter screens, dry-rot repair, fascia board replacement, small electrical and plumbing repairs, new light fixtures, new shutters, new decorative trim, repairing and building decks, fence and gate repairs, stone veneers like Absolutely Stone, and many other types of improvements and repairs." BUT he doesn't do concrete. Hmmmm.

We had three companies come out and give us a quote to install new windows and sliding doors in our house. HomePRO was the clear choice. Matt, the owner of the company, came to our home and was able to describe in detail how the project would transpire, from beginning to end. He was also straightforward with pricing. (Both competitors had sales people come to the house. Even they admitted they couldn't tell us exactly how the old windows would be removed and the new ones put in. One company had such a gimmicky sales tactic that we wouldn't have gone with them even if we liked the product.) (A fun side note, our dog and kids liked Matt...none of them reacted well to the gimmicky sales guy!) We had originally wanted to replace all our windows and sliding doors but the estimate was above our price range. Since we were confident HomePRO would install things correctly, we opted to complete the project in two stages instead of finding a cheaper company. We chose to replace six of the eight windows and one of the two sliding doors. We'll probably complete the project in a year or so. As with many projects, there were a few hiccups. After installation, we noticed three manufacturer errors. HomePRO immediately arranged for the manufacturer to come out. The manufacturer came out a couple weeks later and all three issues were resolved that day. We were impressed with the manufacturer's customer service. They also have a very good warranty policy. I would put a note of caution to those homeowners with older homes: have the installer assess whether or not your windows and/or door frames are cut evenly before the project begins. Our home was built in 1979 and it wasn't until after installation that we realized that most of the windows and door frames weren't originally cut evenly. (Or maybe with the house settling things shifted?) In any event, this affected how the matching vinyl trim looks around the interior of our windows. The trim makes the framing look crooked. (This wasn't evident with our old windows because they were built into the house frame meaning the windows were crooked too. There was also no interior trim.) We brought this up to Matt who reassured us that the windows are installed correctly and level to manufacturer's standards. It's the original window/door framing that makes it look off. We have confidence that the windows/door are installed correctly and realize this outcome would have happened with any installer but we were still disappointed in how the trim looks, mostly because we didn't expect such a variation. Other homeowners may be fine with how a trim in this case looks. (Some trims are more pronounced than others.) If not, homeowners may want to consider new construction over retro-fit. A pricier option but could avoid the issue. Another option is making a custom interior trim that follows the window frame and the window. We'll be looking into this when we redo the kitchen. Matt was considerate with my feedback on this matter and said he'll give this more consideration with future projects. All in all, we would recommend HomePRO to others and plan on calling Matt in the future when it's time to complete our window project. Matt is very professional, knowledgeable, reliable and excellent with follow-through.

They did a great job and the wall looks perfect now, and you can't tell that the window was an add-on. They were responsive, quick, and did the work in just a few hours. Will definitely use again.

I thought I had previously submitted a review of this work, but according to my review history, apparently I had not done so. This is the second time I've used Home Pro and worked with Matt Stevenson, the owner. Additional foundation vents had to be installed because of excessive moisture under the house, which was found during a regular Clark Pest Control inspection. Since Home Pro had installed Tex Cote on the stucco portions of the house and is a stucco expert, I was not comfortable with a pest control company overseeing this type of work. Matt spent time going over the pest control report, guided me through his proposal to resolve the issue and provided a very detailed estimate of work...very professional. As usual, the crew was efficient, polite & when they ran into a problem with the installation, immediately consulted with Matt on the matter and viable options. They quickly resolved, completed the project and did a nice job of cleaning up.

It went really well. They did a pretty good job. They were really very good. They cleaned up after themselves everyday. They hauled stuff away. They just did a wonderful job. They were more expensive but we always had people come out and sell us stuff and they were the only ones who actually went in there and explained what the work was gonna be. We have a really rough stucco coat and everybody else wanted to throw the windows on there and just run glue all over everything but these guys said that we can't do that. They went in and they grated that stucco down so it's laid in flat. They were very detail oriented. They were very good on punctuality. They were pricey but they do work that other places wouldn't even bother doing. They even found dry rot that we didn't know we had.

I cannot recommend Home Pro more highly. From my very first contact with this company (estimate) to the completion of the installation, everyone I came into contact with was professional, well mannered, punctual and conscientious. I am very happy with the service they provided.

We were very happy with the work performed. There were a couple problems, however. The largest was the fact that the job foreman didn't always do what was asked. Even when it was made clear what we wanted, he would decide for himself what was needed and do that. He did this on two separate occasions. The owner tried to take responsibility for this - stating it was a communications problem, but in one of the cases I had made clear to the foreman what I wanted and he still did not do it. In both cases, it wasn't practical to go back and redo the work, so we just let it go. But we were quite unhappy about that. My advise is that if you want something done a certain way, sit both the owner and foreman down and go over it in great detail and ask the foreman if he agrees that it is the best way. Hopefully, this will result in you getting it the way you want it. One thing I really liked was the replacement of our kitchen garden window. For the rest of the windows and the sliding patio door, we were able to use retro-fit product, but this was not recommended for the kitchen garden window. As the exterior of our house is stucco, I was concerned with how it would look (if you would be able to see that it was patched). They have a real stucco craftsman on staff which did a terrific job. I cannot tell there was a patch job at all. Really fine work. The windows we got came with a new style of latch (new to Anlin) called the True-Action lock. On some of the windows, these latches didn't work well. They either didn't latch or they got such such that you couldn't open them. The foreman worked very hard to try to convince me they were working properly when it was clear to me they were not. For example, he opened/closed the window several times, and latch failed to function properly every time. When it finally did work, he said "There .. see? It's working properly". At this point, I stopped asking him to help with these and decided to call the Anlin manufacturer's representative. He came out on May 16th and went through all the windows and showed me how to adjust them. It was very easy. I was surprised that the Home Pro foreman didn't know how to do this.

Matt came to look at the project and give me an estimate. He was punctual, professional and very knowledgeable. He sent me an estimate a couple of days later. I am quite sure that his company does great work and will absolutely consider him for any future jobs I might have. In this particular case, the estimate was much higher than I had anticipated, and not really doable for me.

Overall, everything was great. When we got everybody on the same page between three contractors, everything worked out fine. I would use them in the future.

I found Matt and Home Pro through Angie's List. Matt was the only one of three contractors (all of whom I found on Angie's List) who actually returned my call. He did so promptly and came and gave me an estimate for replacing my back door. He explained what the work would entail, the brand of door with which they preferred to work, and let me choose the style of door. Matt was patient, listened well, and provided answers that explained everything I needed. I suspected that once Matt's crew began work on the door that they would find other issues regarding the replacement, since our home was built in 1926. As soon as they did find something, Matt immediately came by to show me what they found, what it meant to the replacement and long term issues with the home, and gave me options on how to handle it. He also showed me areas on dry rot around the house that his workers had noticed in their work. These were the exact same places the inspector found when we were buying the home. He wrote out an estimate of the additional work and we asked them to add the repair of the dry rot with the patio door. I could not be more happy with Matt and his crew. They were informative, friendly, polite, respectful, unobtrusive while working, and provided high quality work. Matt remained readily available by phone and willing to be at the house whenever I needed him to look at something. When the work was complete, Matt walked me through everything and has done excellent follow up. As my husband and I save up to do additional work, we know that we want Matt to do all our home repair/replacement work. I highly recommend Home Pro to anyone looking for someone to help them with contract work around their home.

It went extremely well, from beginning to end. After having a bad experience with a contractor who failed to follow through, I found HomePRO. Matt scheduled an appointment and showed up on time. My no-show contractor had told me I needed the entire 2-story back wall re-stuccoed because rain was leaking into the house through the wall. Matt, however, suggested a less drastic plan, to start with the area where water appeared to be getting into the house near a first-story window and expanding out from there as necessary. The leak was eminating higher up, around a second-story window, limiting the wall repair and re-stuccoing to that section of the back wall. He also determined that another leak above the sliding glass door resulted not because of faulty stucco but because the company that installed that door installed the wrong kind of door. Since my house is 25 years old, I also had HomePRO replace all 19 windows in the house and the sliding glass door for more energy efficiency. I also had him repair/restore the ceiling and window frame in my dining room that was damaged from water leaking in through the wall. While at my house providing me with an estimate, Matt noticed several areas of dry rot in the exterior front of the house, so I had him repair those as well. He also noticed that the wooden side-door to the garage was extremely weather damaged, so I had him replace it with a steel door. With each aspect of the project, they matched the paint seamlessly so you would never know repair work had been done, for example, you can't distinguish the new stucco from the original. The crew was always on time, very efficient, friendly, polite, and did daily cleanups. After the project was done to the back wall, they restored my patio to the way it was before they started. After a couple of days with the new windows just on the back wall, I noticed a stark difference from the old ones -- I had to adjust my AC up 2 degrees, using less AC than before. The new windows are also more soundproof, I used to be able to hear the bark of every dog in the neighborhood, now I barely hear the dog next door. While the price was higher than I expected to have to pay, I feel that the quality of work that HomePRO performed will endure for another 25 years. I also feel that if I have any problems with any of the work,I can call Matt and he won't hesitate to come out and fix it. He is very conscientious about his company and is sincere in his insistance of customer satisfaction. HomePRO did little extras for me, like install smoke alarms, at no extra charge, to bring my house up to code for the county inspection. If I ever need any other work done of this nature to my house, HomePRO will be the first contractor I will call -- I highly recommend Matt and HomePRO.

He showed up, knew his stuff, offered opinions and options. He knows his business and seems very reputable. We did not complete the service right now (for unrelated reasons) but that was not due to his estimate or bid. We trust he would have done a great job. We will consult him in the future.

I never met Matt in person, they made it so easy to do everything over the phone or via e-mail that a in person meeting wasn't needed. From the estimate to the work and clean up, everything went great. First time experience and I'm very impressed. I would recommend Matt and his team to anyone.

This company is the best!! Matt, the owner, came to my home and spent time looking at the results of my Home Inspection. He was able to make all repairs as well as install new siding. This was a huge job. He took some measurements and explained the new building codes for window size and height (something my other estimate didn't mention). My windows were. OK, but it really impressed that he wasn't there just to sell me something. Matt is a general contractor specializing in vinyl siding (as well as other products), which is why I had so much trust in HomePRO given the work I needed done. The professionals who work for him are the nicest, most professional, hard working men I have ever had working on my home. They arrived promptly and worked hard, even when temperatures were over 105. If you hire HomePRO, please provide these guys lots of liquids. I just filled my ice chest with water, Gatorade, tea and soda. They really appreciated it. The finished product is stunning. I contacted Matt from HomePRO to replace some siding on my house and put in a new bedroom window. I also informed him I had a tight time line. Matt worked with my time line. All the work was completed in one day. I was really happy with the work they did. Matt took care of the permit that was needed for the window and provide us with original permit. Matt also made an appointment for an inspection. Everything passed inspection. The estimate was spot on with the end amount. I will defiantly contact Matt again for my home improvement needs. I would also recommend HomePRO to any of my friends.

Contacted Matt for a bid to repair the stucco on the back of my house. Matt contacted me back with in 24 hour. We had difficulties with finding a time for him to come out to look at the stucco, so he asked me to take pictures and text/email them which I did. Matt called me the next day to discuss the picture. He gave me a quote over the phone and told me he would email me the bid. Before I received his bid via email, Matt called me to explain the bid and the work that would be completed. We decided on stucco repair only and I would do the painting. He was very patient and answered all my questions. After looking over all the bids I received I decided to go with HomePro. I contacted Matt and let him know I wanted to go forward with the work. He sent over the contract via email and schedueld the work for 8am on 6/17. Matt informed me that I needed to be onsite until the stucco was removed in case they needed to remove more stucco, or there was damage to the frame (which would add to the cost of the project). The worker arrived right on time and started working. Once the stucco was remove, the worker knocked on the door and asked that I come an inspect the area. He needed to remove additional stucco, explained why, and the additional cost. I gave him the go ahead and left for work. After returning home, I backyard was very clean and the area of removal patched up. The next day, 2 workers showed up and completed the job. The work is excellent and the stucco patch matched up with the existing stucco. Overall, I am very happy with Matt and the work provided by his workers.

I was informed when Matt reviewed my service needs that a building permit would be required. He informed me the cost for the building permit would be approximately $1,000. I thought that was excessive for the replacement of just one window. He further informed me that I would be required to have fire alarms in every bedroom, etc. I received one more estimate and asked that person about the need for a building permit and the cost. The person wasn't that familiar with the Folsom area. I then decided to contact the building permit office. Several e-mail and telephone contacts were made but not answered over approximately one month. I then went down to the permit office where I was informed that at most the permit would cost $150. Matt denied he gave me the original quote of $1,000. But believe me, I wouldn't have taken that much time had I been told it was $150. The quote I received was just under $4,000. Really? For one window? So, can someone tell me what a good quote would run for a second story bathroom window, stucco house, approximately 4' by 5', sliding? I tried to get it fixed once before and it is leaking worse now then it did before. Thus the reason why I called Angie's list.

Bottom line: Home Pro did excellent work and we are very satisfied with what they did for us. We got several bids for the work and Home Pro was not the cheapest -- but we were very impressed with Matt's careful and thoughtful assessments of what we wanted done. We are doing the remodel work, not with selling the house in mind, but rather planning to live here another 10 -15 years -- so we were looking for quality of work far more than cost. Matt had good questions, and took the time to really understand what we were looking for and what we expected. He answered all our questions and provided an extensive education on what needed to be done and how he would do it. He made some significant improvements to our plans, based on his experience with many previous jobs. 1. Vinyl siding -- Matt helped us decide not to stucco the front of the house but rather use vinyl siding with R-8 insulation boards under it. 2. The window choice and selection was excellent and again Matt showed us where we could reduce costs and still get the performance we wanted. 3. We weren't sure what we wanted to do with the stucco surfaces of the house, but after hearing Matt's expert analysis of what was needed, we added a full repair of all the stucco, to get it ready for paint later. Matt's crew is absolutely the best: They were always on time, worked very hard and with awesome skills, helped us follow what they were doing and where there were features that we needed to see & understand, kept the worksite very clean and clear -- always left it neat every evening as work was finished, and were cheerful and pleasant to have around our house. They are real craftsmen, doing fine work with the easy style of those who really know their business. The quality and consistency of the work performed was absolutely excellent. Each day, after they left, we would carefully study the work done that day, looking for any problems or flaws. What very few things we noted were promptly attended to the next day -- mostly matters of style and design rather than quality of work. A month later, we have yet to discover anything that isn't fully to our satisfaction.

Everything went as scheduled. From start to finished everything about this service was top notch. Matt was very up front about the cost, he even said it would probably be more than others but that he would do everything on time and was very professional.

He was punctual, he was very friendly and nice, it's just that we couldn't pay that kind of money to get the door installed. He was very professional and very punctual with getting the quote back to us so I have really no complaints other than I just could not afford his services.

We had pealing and blistering stucco below our window. HomePro came and looked at it and knew exactly what the problem was. Gave me a proposal I agreed with and they came and fixed the problem in a timely matter. They did an awesome job and I'm happy with the result. They were very professional and working with the owner to resolve the problem was a pleasure; he was fantastic to work with. I highly recommend HomePro with any stucco issue you may have.

I was really concerned about potential water intrusion. Matt came out and reviewed the site, thoroughly explained the situation and provided options for fixing the problem. I had others look at the situation but none of them gave me the confidence that Matt on how to approach the work and do it so that we would be safeguarded from additional damage or recurrence in the future. I had asked for the work to be done to accommodate my schedule and they were very responsive to doing this. I have examined the repairs and if you did not know that they had to be made you would never have known that anything was wrong - the texture matched perfectly. Not only did they do this but they attended to additional cracks as well while on site without charging me any additional. I would without hesitation use them again.
