A very knowledgeable plumber from French Connection Plumbing arrived on time and was very pleasant and listened carefully to what I needed. Not only did he remove the unwanted gas piping and capping it off at the gas meter but he took the bad rusted pipe with him. i expected it to be left to me to dispose of. A section of this pipe was under an uprooted slab of concrete but that didn't stop him from finding a way to remove it. He also dug up the termination piece of the pipe line which was mostly underground and discovered it had a hole in it, This discovery might have prevented some serious damage or even a tragedy had we ever tired to use this gas line. I highly recommend The French Connection and will use them again in the future. They are very professional and the price for my project was more then fair.
Description of Work: Removal of an exterior gas pipe with a long run around two thirds of the parameter of our house. This was used by the previous owner to deliver gas to an outdoor firepit.

He was demeaning, out of line, accused me of telling his client...my neighbor, how much a water heater install should cost etc, and he wasn't even around when we talked. He must hate women because he was so rude and so unprofessional as anyone I've ever encountered. I had my husband come out just in case he became even more belligerent and he toned down his attitude. I've never ever experienced a hot head in a business type environment like this guy. He was SCARY! I would NEVER recommend this person to anyone and do not even know how he can own a business and stay in business. His behavior was SO in appropriate that we were taken back at just how volatile he got. He didn't like that we asked questions and and that we questioned his quote on price of water heater and cost of install. He didn't even write up an estimate.
Description of Work: Neighbor called this guy because of leak in water heater. He removed heater and left the residence saying he would be back. He demanded she give him $2000 to START the process of installing a new water heater, which is against the law. He did not give her a written estimate. My neighbor came to my house to see our heater install which was several years ago because she wanted him to see the job that was done and asked him why he was charging so much. I showed up at her house as he returned and he became loud, belligerent, told me to mind my own business, that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I shouldn't be telling my neighbor how much we paid because laws were changed etc. the bottom line, he literally YELLED at both of us telling us we didn't know the what we were doing, that he knew it all etc and was so loud and obnoxious and totally inappropriate that I almost called the police.

In 2012 I spoke with C and C Plumbing regarding a plumber for installation of a tankless water heater. They recommended Frenchy's Plumbing which I used to install a Rheem Tankless Hot Water Heater. It took 4 days to complete the installation and in the meantime, I was without hot water and had to shower at a neighbor's home. Now that the installation is complete, it is not possible for two people to shower at the same time as the hot water heater turns off from overload. Nor is it possible to fill a tub with warm water as the hot water soon turns cold because the heater turns itself off and the code says to contact the dealer or a qualified technician. When called back about these problems, French boisterously insisted the installation was correct, but the problem has persisted. He was so adamant and rude to me about this, that i had to ask him to leave my property. When I contacted another company about the problems, they pointed out several. The gas piping is undersized, and the condensate is not connected to the proper side of the venting. In addition, the exhaust and intake air vents on the roof are not properly capped, the fittings on the air pipes are 90 degree angles, not DMV fittings with a sweep, and he used copper piping for the condensate which is subject to acid eating corrosion and is therefore not approved for this type of installation. This second company told me that I could have had the tankless unit installed outside the house, as I had originally requested. Frenchy had told me that was not possible according to code. I would definitely not recommend the services of Frenchy's Plumbing as he is defensive and rude, his work is sloppy and he is incompetent with tankless hot water heaters. To make matters worse, he is ignorant about his mistakes when they are pointed out to him and he refuses to accept that his work is less than adequate. The client then must hire someone else to do the needed repairs to Frenchy's work. I finally have hired another company to take out his improperly installed tankless hot water heater and install one correctly on the outside of the house. I did get a quote for repairs to the original installation, but it was going to be so costly, that it made more sense to install a new one on the outside of the home as I had originally wanted. Hiring Frenchy's Plumbing was a $5,000 mistake.
Description of Work: Frenchy of Frenchy's Plumbing removed a standard hot water heater and replaced it with a Rheem Tankless Hot Water Heater. My preference for the heater was outside installation, but Frenchy told me it was not possible, according to code. It was installed inside and is very sloppy as there are pipes going every which way.

I was referred this plumber from C&C Plumbing, not Angie's list. Since it was Christmas time I needed to fix promptly. The day after I called he came to look at it at 9am, he said bad old pipes, galvanized which I already knew. There was no water pressure, and rust and dirt and in the lines. He then said he would come back at 2:00 and he would get the faucet. Later, he called and said couldn't do it until the next morning. So I asked him for a receipt of the faucet, he said he put on his account, so no receipt. When he finally came next day, he brought helper who actually did the install. The faucet he brought was very simple and he told me it was $86.00, but without a receipt thinking it was much cheaper. The helper replaced the valves but did not get correct valve with 2 hose receptacles, as one was supposed to be connected to dish washer. He told me he would have to pull dishwasher out to replace and would cost more. The valve previously had the 2 connections, so he basically lied about it. I have been planning to get new dishwasher in next few months, but now washing dishes by hand. Both men also wore no shoe covers which I think is very unprofessional. I had another plumber tell me they put wrong valve in and dishwasher does not have to be pulled to replace valve. I believe it was way overpriced to change out a faucet. One last thing but definitely the clincher, the big guy Frenchy sneezed three times in my kitchen and did not cover his face.

Mr. Nakache; aka Frenchy's Plumbing, indicated that because of the length of time (4 days) he would like to hook the home up to the neighbors' (if they agreed) via water hose so the house would have a source of water until the job was completed. I accepted his offer to hook up the home and the neighbors agreed. After hooking up the water, he wanted to check that the water was flowing to faucets. He checked the kitchen, and two bathrooms sinks. The water pressure was low, but flowing. Mr Nakache said the plumbing in my home was junk. He then attempted to twist off the water trap screen on the Master Bathroom sink. It wouldn't budge, he said it was frozen; then he move to the guest bathroom and after several tries the sink trap came off! However, it was actually the entire bottom section of the faucet and water went everywhere! Mr. Nakache promptly declared I had a LEAK under my sink. I told him NOT, that he broke something in the faucet. He argued that I had a leak, all my pipes were galvanized steel and full of rust and that I obviously had a leak; pointing to a section of the cabinet with water damage from where the PREVIOUS homeowners had repaired a leak. I informed him that there had been NO problem with either sink prior to his arrival at my home and that he not only had broken this sink, but had bent the sink in the Master bathroom. Mr.. Nakache left, then called to say if he got the job he'd throw in the faucet repair as he had one in his warehouse. I again informed him that he had 2 (two) sinks to repair whether he got the job or not. He said he was only repairing the one (guest) as that was the only sink he damaged! The other sink was a piece of junk and again told me that my pipes were old; full of rust and probably in need of re-piping. I informed Mr. Nakache that I had had a plumbing inspection of all pipes etc. and that things were sound. He broke the faucets and they needed to be repaired. He responded that he had done me a favor hooking my home up to the neighbors and he would be back in the morning to undo the connection if he didn't get the job On Friday (Nov. 15) morning, I received a text from Mr. Nakache informing me that "Ok I'll do two faucets; waiting for your call." With his abrupt demeanor and disrespectful resolution to a situation HE created... Needless to say he has NOT received a call! I called another Angie's list plumber to complete the job and I've had the additional expense ($200) of repairing 2 (two) faucets broken by Mr. Gerald Nakache; aka Frenchy's plumbing! I would not call him or recommend him for any plumbing job!!
Description of Work: Mr. Gerald Nakache;aka Frenchy's Plumbing, was invited out to bid on a busted main water line in front yard while homeowner was at work. After assessing the damage, he met at the home to submit a plan of action and a bid for the job. He indicated a plan of attack using PVC pipes and heavy equipment (backhoe). Indicated a need to contact USA before digging, so earliest any work could begin would be Tuesday (4 days later).

He is really good about working in older houses with plumbing challenges. He does extremely high-quality work. The other thing that stood out about him was that we had some issues with the city locating our water shutoff and he spent extra time around the house working with them to find the shutoff to make sure it was shutoff in a way that didn't cause issues because it is an old valve.
