Dave was quick to get to the house for the inspection and will crawl into holes no one else can get into. He is thorough and his report was very prompt. I have not used him for treatment. He did indicate in his report that all the skirting should be replaced on the house because there were signs of minimal bug infestations. In my opinion, and that of a historic preservation contractor I had look at the same issue, it was an unnecessary recommendation for a house on the historic register built from bug resistant materials. Had it been for a house built from plywood I would have followed his recommendation.

Absolutely regret ever calling this person. He came out and did a pest inspection for our purchase of a new home. He got us the report and sent along an itemized list with prices to use if he would be performing the work. I told him that I or my contractor would be performing the work but that we'd have him back to do the pest spraying. He said on a few items he should do the work because we would likely do it wrong. This was the first sign that he was backing us into a corner so he could make more money off of us. I called him back about 6 months afterwards and told him the renovations took longer than was originally projected but that we were finally ready for him to come do the spraying. He said because it was over 4 months since the inspection that he would have to do another inspection. I called the bank and they said that was bogus and that they just needed the spraying done. He claimed to be under state rules which prohibit him from working on a project after four months. I called two other local pest inspectors who said that although they understood what he was talking about that he was wrong and that he could very easily have completed the work. The first inspector I called said they were booked up past our needed completion date but the second came out quickly and completed the work to my banks liking. I gladly gave them the same money I would have paid DAVCO. It's important to note that both inspectors I called after DAVCO said they were well aware of him and that they had heard many other stories about him. The reason I chose DAVCO in the beginning is that he was available and his inspection fee is very low ($150 but only $100 if you pay right away). SAVE YOUR MONEY! I would gladly have paid more to not only wait for a better inspector but to pay one that would actually complete the work.
