the job was not finished. the worker left all the old debris in our yard, and tried to hide more debris under the deck. The deck was not completed as per the contract.Mr. Smith tried to tell us that the job was finished. the state contractors board was not to happy with the company. The installer was installing a new front door, and it took him 7 hours to complete a simple door install. If I were doing that job, I would have been fired, and with good reason. I even had to tell him how to install the door knob. It took him an additional 2 hours to install the door knob. The job was a joke, and very unprofessional. I would be ashamed if I were the owner of the company. Mr. Smith was very rude with us because we questioned the lack of quality and professionalism of the work that was not provided. I would never ever reccommend this company to do any work. If requested, I do have pictures of the mess that they left in our yard . Board with rusty nail sticking up, and termite debris. Shame on the contractors board for allowing him to have a licence. Gary Bullock

Started off as ant construction job. Day one went as planned. My estimate included to remove and install framing in 2 bedrooms but after the guys consulted it was determined to just leave them and just texture and leave them mind you I was to be charged materials and labor for this work. Next was for Barry smith to install new bedroom doors and closet bios that I agreed ed to pick out and purchase. Barry smith's project manager then suggested that it would be cheaper if I installed the doors. There again this was in the contract for the company to do. The new bathroom Window was installed by a young man that after the fact proved to not have skills for that job. The owner had to come out and re do the Window framing. Poor workmanship. The same young man also installed a storm door that I also had them install. My framing was split and cracked and when I said something I was told " oh no problem we will glue it back together. Remind you this job was a little over 10k I could go on and on but I will give you the excuse I was told as to why I wasn't getting any compensation for the work that was in my contract but was not done and by the way I didn't save any money it cost me more. Barry smith came out and told me since the guys spent more time than projected on the work it all averaged out! I was so angry and felt taken. I'm a widow and feel that I get taken advantage of all the time. This company spends my money advertising so it makes them look good as a company. I promise you that you will regret working with this company. My expirenice was terrible and I hope by me writing this to all you consumers it will save you some of your hard earned money and time. I didn't even get to the poor workmanship. That was also less than. Poor to say the least!

They did not fix my problems.

Came out & measured, but never gave an estimate. A friend hired him and had a terrible experience also.

They were great and excellent. They were very professional and even sensitive to my allergies to mold and dust. They kept the area they were working in as clean as possible. They were also very easy to communicate with.

It was a nightmare from the start. We thought we had hired an honest dependable caring professional as you may see on his advertisement therefore we did not mind spending the outrageous amount of money he charged, we wanted peace of mind and the knowledge that things were going to be done right, we paid for high quality work and that is what we expected. Barry Smith's workers did not protect our belongings, shutters and a light shade were broken, floors were dented, and the painting around the windows was a disaster. They even managed to mess up our front lawn, we have a patio but they decided to set shop on the front lawn instead. After windows were installed we noticed the windows in the study were changed did not look at the final contract in detail since we had specified to him that we wanted NO CHANGES in front of house. The windows were defective spoke over the phone and told Smith Construction about problem but WE had already called the window manufacturers ( suspected Barry Smith was not going to accept responsibility) and they agreed to come over and take a look at the problem. After talking with the windows sales manager representative they agreed to come and fix the problem. As we suspected Barry Smith DID NOTHING he took no responsibility we thought that after 20 years in the business he would know what a Contractor responsibilities are. Barry Smith was going to do us the FAVOR of fixing the paint job and replace one of the windows in the study. We thought it over and prefer to call it a loss rather than have to keep on dealing with him and his unprofessional crew. We asked for the windows invoice copy of the permit and money back to finish the job. Barry Smith Construction has not bother to respond.

Overall they did a nice job of providing an estimate as to what the work would cost and how to best do the job in the space provided. They also took into consideration the work we could do ourselves.
