+ -1 moreThe electrician showed up with his trainee, and he handled the outlet and had his assistant install the fixture - which worked out very well, because it let them finish in a much shorter time. They cleared up some oddities in the wiring that had caused my outlet problem and made suggestions for potential future work based on my description of other electrical issues. Professional and prompt. I'll be having them come back next month to work on replacement of my breaker box, which is going to be a major project.
Description of Work: First time I called An Electrician, I needed to have an outlet rewired and a ceiling fixture installed. I called them back later to get an estimate for replacement of my breaker box.

Description of Work: I contacted An Electrician to see about getting an outlet re-wired for my dishwasher, a ceiling fixture installed, and to get an estimate for adding an outlet in the garage for a freezer I want to install. The electrician showed up with an apprentice assisting him right on time; he had the apprentice do the relatively simple fixture installation while he worked on the dishwasher outlet. The estimate they gave me was based on less than an hour of work; in the end, the outlet proved to be trickier to re-wire than they had expected (funky Arcata wiring) and the two men spent nearly two full hours on the job. Even so, they only charged me $10 more than the original very reasonable estimate. The quote they gave me for the garage outlet was also extremely reasonable, and I will be calling them in Spring to come out and tackle that job. I strongly recommend An Electrician for anyone in the Arcata/Eureka area - they are terrific!

Description of Work: I live in a very old rental and due to some construction, I needed someone to repair an electric line, install an outlet, and replace 3 light fixtures that I supplied. The electrician that came spent an hour and a half, corrected the fire hazard and installed all three lights. The fees paid were reasonable (1 1/2 hours work), the site was left clean, the electrician was courteous. I will ask them for other repairs that I may have.

After I first contacted them the company quickly scheduled a site visit and prepared a project estimate which was delivered to me the same day. The actual work was scheduled and completed that same week. The electrician was on-time and very professional. He confirmed the details with me before starting work and was able to finish work in less time than estimated in the proposal. I really appreciate that I was able to organize everything via email and that scheduling service was very timely. I will be using An Electrician as my go-to for electrical work from now on.

Description of Work: Installed light fixtures which subsequently failed to work properly and had to be repaired by another electrician. Was unable to correct a separate simple connection problem that was able to be corrected by a different electrician quickly.

+ -1 moreOverall I think it went well; I MAY have them back when I rewire the garage, but I want a quoted price NOT time and charges for what they are going to have to do.
Description of Work: Lost power in garage so I had the company, An Electrician, come to check out the problem. The only problem was that the first guy came (charged a full 78.00) then he had a second guy come (charged another 78.00) I felt a little ripped off at having to pay 2 guys when only one did anything.
