Zech Plumbing

Project started by noticing a wet ceiling in the kitchen. Turned out the master bath shower had a worn cartridge in the valve. Alex was very busy and still managed to come back the same day with a new cartridge. After replacing the part, a few drips were still visible. After checking water pressure and tightness, it was determined that a new valve was needed. A new meeting was scheduled, and despite blocking off 4 hours for the job, Alex got it done in 3. The shower is tile and Alex did a great professional job in not damaging more tile than needed. A new valve was inserted and everything works fantastic. As an extra service, Alex fixed a leaking tub faucet for us as well. Great work, and I will definitely use them again...if needed.

Our hot water pressure was very low, and I assumed it was a result of an underslab leak. Prior to calling Zech Plumbing, I carefully reviewed likely plumbers on Angie's list selected three firms to come out for an estimate. The other two firms insisted that I first call a leak detection company to map out where the problem might be. John at Zech did not ask for that. When he showed up, he did various inspection tests on the water faucets to determine what was causing the problem. He determined quickly that it was not an underslab leak, and then went direclty to the water heater (which I had had checked by another plumber 3 weeks earlier). Within minutes he found that the problem was due to a flow restrictor in the inlet line. He repaired this, and eveything was in good shape. I was very satisfied that his understanding of what he does allowed him to correctely diagnose the issue without the need of extensive testing or expense. I would highly recommend this company, and will call them in the future if i need something. John's experience and honesty are a rare combination!

I was very pleased when the plumber arrived well within the time window predicted. He analyzed the problem and returned to his truck for the tools he expected to use. He explained what he was doing as he went along and did not seem to mind my watching over his shoulder as he worked. I think I can avoid this problem in the future due to what he showed me.

This was a simple job. Puncual, skilled worker. precise fast efficient polite very communicative, no wasted effort, no problems.

The guys from Zech were responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Of the companies I called, they were the only ones willing to talk through the issue with me over the phone and give me an estimate on that basis. (I'm a construction professional so I knew what they needed to know from me so perhaps that helped.) They re-arranged their schedule to take care of me the same day called. The old water heater was still under warranty and when I told them that, they knew just what to do and took care of everything with the wholesale house, saving me several hundred dollars.

I had about 10 plumbers come give me estimates, he was not only one of the ones with the best price but he fixed my switch on my water heater that was not working so I could turn off the hot water, none of the other plumbers even suggested it to me and he just did it for free before I even said if I was going to use him or not, now that is just a nice guy.

I contacted Zech for a relatively simple job based on their Angie's list recommendation and set up an appointment for 8:30 AM a couple of days in advance. The day before the appointment they called and said that they needed to move it to 9:30 - 10:00 AM. I rejuggled my schedule to be there during that time. They then called around 9 AM to say that they needed to reschedule between 2:30 - 3:30 PM and I was forced to rejuggle my schedule again. Then they called around 1 PM to reschedule again for the next day and I'm hosed because I can't make it the next day. So I'm stuck either waiting to the following week or trying to find another plumber at the last minute. I can't speak to the work they do when they show up, but almost anything would have been better than this.

If you have to have plumbing work done, Zech is one to do it. I can't imagine a better plumber out there. Plus, he's a really nice guy.

Leo came and replaced items as provided by owner. He provided a Moen cartridge, one angle stop valve, and one flapper. The owner was not able to locate the needed cartridge for an old faucet. The cartridge was a replacement in a 30 year old faucet, a very tough job in my opinion. We are very pleased with Leo's work.

My husband didn't tell me that there was a broken part, so the plumber did not know to bring the part. He went out and bought the part, came back and fixed the toilet. He was prompt and efficient.

John answered the call in a timely fashion and came out to inspect the damage the next day. He spent roughly an hour to figure out where the pipe went into the slab and came out of the slab. We talked about different approaches (going into the slab and fixing the pipe leak directly, or rerouting the pipe to bypass the faulty pipe in the slab. After going through pros and cons we decided best route was to r-pipe by cutting and capping the pipe that ran through the slab, and route new copper pipe through the ceiling between the first and second story. We decided on a day to fix, but since I had time constraints it would be 5 days before this could be done. John went ahead and put a new valve from the hot water heater to the pipes, so we could at least have running water in the house before the job could be done. When the day to do the re-pipe come, John came back with another worker and completed the work. The work included, capping old pipes, running new pipe, and re-plaster and texture the wall where cuts were made. During this time, I asked John about another small plumbing issue we had with our overflow with the tub. He went to look at it, and found the problem, but didn't have the part with him. Since his partner was still working, he drove 10 miles to get the part to fix my issue and fixed it at no extra charge, as the overall hours were the same. Overall, I was impressed with the whole process and his professional and caring attitude. I felt he was a very honest and trustworthy person and would def recommend him to anyone that has plumbing that is needed.

We were happy to get help so promptly and impressed by Leo's professionalism and thoroughness. We have used this company previously for a major repiping which went very smoothly and quickly so we have made them our regular plumbers for other work and have never been disappointed.

These folks were awesome. I had discovered a leak in my ceiling downstairs which I had traced to a broken pipe near the wall that was leaking into both the ceiling and wall. So, I shut off the water at the street level and logged onto Angie's List for the first time (since I wanted to test it out). I called the top-rated plumber in my area (Zech) and was initially told they were pretty busy and wouldn't be able to come out till the next morning at 8:00. I told them I'd check with my wife and get back to them to see if that was okay with her, too. Before my wife and I even talked, Zech called me back and said they were able to squeeze me in that same day. They came out exactly on time, inspected our issue, identified what needed to be fixed, gave me an estimate (a good price), along with some advice regarding what to do after he left. The gentleman's name was Leo and seemed to my wife and me to be as trustworthy as they come. He completed the repair quickly and effectively and we couldn't be happier that our needs were taken care of so professionally. I don't think I'll ever call a different plumber than Zech.

It was a pleasure working with Zech. Three guys came out. They walked me through everything, allowing me to ask questions or watch over their shoulders. They did a great job of repairing affected walls (on a little paint necessary now), and the price was much more reasonable than what I'd been quoted from another company.

Had problem with clogged toilet. Had tried several DIY methods but could not get the toilet to function/flush. While explaining the problems to a representative at one of the DIY stores, he mentioned the problem might actually be something stuck in the roof vent! At this point I decided to leave it to the professionals. It was this reason I became a member of Angie's list. I started researching reviews, etc. and decided to give Zech Plumbing a call. Leo became my main point of contact. When Leo and his assistant arrived they pinpointed the problem right away, showed us the problem (within minutes!) and gave us the news we needed a new toilet. He gave us a reasonable quote for two different models, as well as a quote for just installation only if I wanted to shop and supply the toilet. My father had recommended a particular toilet and so I decided to purchase that one instead and have Zech do the installation. Once again Leo and his assistant were punctual and very professional. They installed the new toilet and took away the old. Unfortunately, within a couple of days I noticed a water leak. Leo came back out and actually removed it and reinstalled it thinking the ring inside had moved. Again, within a couple of days (of non-use) the water came back. Leo came back spent quite a bit of time investigating. It turned out that there was a very small pinhole leak within the toilet itself - manufacturer defect! I got the toilet replaced and Leo came back and did the new installation. Leo was more than fair in what he finally charged. He made several trips at no-charge for something that was not due to his workmanship but rather a defective item. He even worked around my schedule and worked sometimes late in the evening. Leo was not only professional, but he was very kind. I would highly recommend Zech Plumbing and would definitely use them again.

They have always provided a friendly, personable and clean service. I highly recommend them.

His name was Leo and I really liked him. It was a good deal. They came the same day to do it and they were working other jobs but they still came and did mine. I would absolutely use them again.

We had once a couple of things done. We got some European fixtures and he wasn’t familiar with that but otherwise, he was very good. We thought that he was completely on time and did what he said he was going to do. He followed through. He just knew about the basics and nothing fancy. He was good with putting toilets in and with basic plumbing. As far as anything smart goes, he wasn’t too confident. We will use his services again in the future.

The job was performed in a reasonable amount of time, at a reasonable price without any problems.

All services have been excellent with Zech plumbing. He's always been straight forward in discussing options, even other than his company doing the repair. Zech plumbing has never felt like they're forcing us toward a repair or decision, and have never hit us with any "hidden" charges.

Noticed apparent water damage at baseboard level of wall common to Master Bath and Living Room. John used a moisture meter on Living Room wall to determine extent of moisture beyond the visible water damage at baseboard level. Then he checked bathroom shower to discover the leak occurred only when shower was turned on. The cause was a broken shower arm. He replaced the arm with a new one on hand that I had previously purchased. Very satisfied with John and his work to solve the problem.

My tenant noticed water damage on the cabinet near the dishwasher Tuesday evening, by late Wednesday morning John was already out trying to troubleshoot. After running 15 cycles of the dishwasher he was not able to identify any leaking from the drainage or supply line but speculated the door might not have been properly closed during a cleaning cycle. He was proactive enough to replace a toilet flapper (thanks) while he was out. Happy tenant, happy landlord.

I contacted them off of Angie's List and they were responsive for both repairs.

I dealt with Leo. He showed up as promised and did the work we spoke about for the amount promised. About a week later one of the connections failed (manufacturer defect). I called as soon as I noticed this (on a Monday which was Labor day). Leo came out first thing the next day and fixed the problem. Everything, including his time, was covered under their warrintee. I'm very happy with their service and will absolutely call them for all my future plumbing needs.
