Soapstone Werks

I was referred to this company by another stone dealer who said they had the best stone and were the best fabricators and installers. They only sell and work with soapstone, and have been doing it a long time. They were very helpful, told me about the different types of soapstone in their yard, were very patient in helping me to pick out a slab. The finished product was absolutely perfect. The installation crew did a beautiful job, even fabricating a small piece on-site so it would fit the space perfectly, and match the veins in the counter top that it 's butted up to. There is not the slightest flaw of any sort in the counter tops; they fit perfectly, and are finished perfectly. The crew was respectful, and cleaned up everything really well, much better than the other crews involved in the kitchen replacement. My only less-than-happy part of the experience was that it was a bit difficult to communicate with them regarding work dates. I know they were really busy, and I was really stressed, (no kitchen for 4 months - ugh!), so it probably seemed like a bigger deal than it should have. Nonetheless, I think communication could have been a bit more timely. It was not a deal breaker, for sure, and I would not hesitate to send anyone their way, as the quality of product and craft are superb.

Soapstone Werks are a responsive and responsible firm. I chose them to redo the kitchen countertops, even though there was another Soapstone dealer only a few miles from my house. From Wendy taking a lot of time and care to help me find the best slab, to Greg explaining every step of the project, to the final installation in a 102 year-old kitchen, they went the extra mile. The countertop is my favorite part of my new kitchen!

Soapstone Werks was responsive, helpful and professional. The project was in a remodeled kitchen in an115 year old home. This provided some obstacles with leveling and installation, but Greg and his crew were professional, precise and timely. The counters were installed perfectly as possible! The company and the crew, from Greg and his wife Wendy-the owners- to Tom Shadley ( who helped us pick our slab) to his sons and other installers, were excellent to work with thoughout the project.

I could not more highly recommend this company! Greg and Wendy are so knowledgeable and friendly. They spent over an hour with us when we first went in to pick out the soapstone slabs for our new master bath. Then they held them for a year and a half while we actually built the master bath. During that time we realized we had some special fitting issues with our tub faucet set. I spoke with Greg and he said they would do whatever it would take to make it work. It was complicated and he bent over backwards working with my husband and me to make it right. And it is right. Greg and his crew installed our tub deck and vanity top last week and did a fabulous job. It was a fascinating process to watch. You wouldn't want someone who doesn't totally know what they are doing installing you soapstone. Soapstone Werks is the seller, fabricator and installer. They are on it every step of the way. I couldn't be happier with their work.

Soapstone Werks was great to work with beginning to end. Good info on website and always so efficient at returning my calls and emails. They have a good selection of slabs to choose from. Wendy had lots of knowledge about the different kinds of soapstones and helped in choosing the best to fit our needs. Greg then came and templated and gave us great design advice. This family run business takes a lot of pride on their finished product. We installed kitchen counters, window seats and a bathroom vanity. Love them all! Looking forward to doing my other bathroom and working with Soapstone Werks in the near future.

I found their information on the website and immediately called them because I loved the look and professionalism of the website. They picked up the phone and instantly answered all of my questions. I loved how informational they were, it made me feel like they knew exactly what they were talking about. I came in the following weekend and looked at the Soapstone Werks collection of soapstone slabs. They had the largest and most beautiful selection by far that I have seen in Southern California. I went to a couple of other companies before Soapstone Werks to search for slabs, but the other companies just did not have anywhere near the kind of selection that they had. I was amazed that soapstone came in so many variations. I had always thought that soapstone only came in a subdued black. But I came to quickly realize that soapstone can be black, black with white veining, black with cream veining, a beautiful emerald green, light greyish green with white veining, green with gold veining, black with turquoise veining, etc. I personally fell in love with the black with turquoise veining and bought it on the spot. I never knew that soapstone could be so beautiful. It almost looks like it has sparkly gems or beachglass embedded in it. I found that Soapstone Werks was consistently professional, on -time, accurate, and informational. They got my job installed in a timely manner and my kitchen looks just gorgeous! It was so hassle free. Working with Soapstone Werks was the hassle-free install that you rarely hear about. Thank you so much Greg and Wendy!

Professional, complete, sent photos back and forth and then to the architect, install was amazing with very few seams. The necessary seams are magically hidden - it's amazing how perfectly the veining in the natural stone lined up and came together. Again, it's alot of money to spend because it's a special finish, so it's crazy not to have the best install available and that is Greg, the owner, who is more particular about his work than any imaginable client.

They have some of the most beautiful substance and the person who does the work is also the owner. He installed the substance for us. He's an artist and he did a beautiful job. We had a lot of work done and were very please with the work. It was more expensive than we originally thought it would be, but he is really a crafts man. He really works with you, to make sure that it's just perfect. They came out, did an assessment with all the templates first. Then they came back a few weeks later with all the substance put it in, and made sure everything was done right.
