I Contacted MIke for an estimate and he responded promptly. He was very thorough in assessing the property. He went through the property with my husband and followed through with all that was promised. He provided the service within a few weeks and the job was completed in 3 days. My home is a 1927 craftsman and his workers replaced all the boards that were damaged or rotted and a few pieces of the eves on our home that I had noticed in the past needing replacement. I felt like I could trust him and his crew to make good decisions on my behalf and do a quality job which they did. They even replaced the flashing related to our solatube. I wasn't able to get back to them to approve this but it was only $90.00 for materials. He did it because it needed to get done which I appreciated and the cost was so minimal, it didn't really change the estimate much. I was relieved they found the problem and fixed it. Apart from the great work they did, their rates were so reasonable and their work was exemplary. My husband and I are so busy and don't have any time for contractor nonsense, and with Sequoia roofing, it was completed drama free. Imagine my relief. After spending many, many years working with contractors that don't take pride in their work it was so refreshing to finally have such a positive experience with Mike and his crew. I will recommend Sequoia roofing to anyone who needs a great roofing company. I wish everyone had the integrity and work ethic that Sequoia has. It went great! We've not had great experiences with contractors but based on the the reviews on AL we decided to let Sequoia have a look at the roof and see what they would charge. Mike was very responsive and returned my request for a quote within an hour. We arranged for Mike to come over and have a look. He was prompt and arrived when he said he would. He was very easy to talk to and listed to our previous bad experiences. We've had some problems with leaking and so he told what he could do to mitigate the leaking. We had some rain a week ago and were very happy to see that there wasn't any leakage down the side of the house. I can't say enough good things about Mike and the crew. The crew that did the work were here on time and worked very hard to get the job done quickly. I wish Sequoia did other things besides roofing because I would hire him without hesitation.

I was dreading this whole "new roof" process - the cost, the mess, even the decision making - how do we make the best choice? I got bids, did interviews, and researched roofing. Mike Rochholz of Sequoia Roofing rose to the top of the list almost immediately. He was very professional, knew his materials, understood the long term consequences of this important & expensive investment, AND he gave us one of the best estimates! It was a complete pleasure to work with him and his crew from start to finish. They were clean, respectful, true to their words and the roof looks great! I recommend him without reservation! I wish every contracting experience was this positive!

Mike Rochholz provided a proposal shortly after I contacted him. We had several email exchanges thereafter about particulars and timing. He was always responsive to my emails. The day before the vents were originally supposed to be installed he discovered the vent supplier had sold some of the order to another roofer. He worked hard to find the same vents elsewhere but there were none locally. The vent supplier had to send a truck to LA to get the balance needed. Installation of the vents and replacement of vent pipes flashing was done in the time promised. The vent supplier discounted the price of the vents because of the delay and Mr. Rochholz passed the savings on to us.

The crew showed up right on time. They provided me an overview of the process, when the shingles and other materials should be delivered and when they think it would all be completed (2 days). Mike the owner can to visit and check with the crew through the 2 days. As they removed the old roof it was revealed that some of the plywood was bad (dry rot) and that some of the old plywood and support 2x4s were not done properly when the home was built. The crew leader called for the additional materials. The semi-truck that was delivering the shingles could not make to our home (we live in a rural hilly area) and stopped a half mile away. Without hesistantion a member of the crew took a mid-size truck and they transferred the off the semi-truck . The crew manually carried the materials up to the roof. They replaced the dry rot wood with precise cuts and corrected the missed placed 2x4 and reassembled the roof. The crew leader asked where I wanted new vents and provided his recommendations and rational. The underlayment was installed the 1st day. The shingles were installed quickly on the 2nd day, and they replaced and painted all the metal covers. The crew cleaned up the yard, checked for nails and removed all trash. Before they left they summarized their work and asked if I had other requests. I was very happy with my interactions with Mike, his crew (very courteous), the schedule, the cost and the finished results.

Wow! I first called for a quote and got a call back the same evening. Rudy was my point of contact and his responsiveness was amazing. He emailed, text and called me to answer all of my questions, provide a quote and schedule the work. He updated me as their schedule opened up and even stopped by to meet my husband and I in person. He provided shingle samples, did not charge more for high definition shingles and offered the Angie's list discount. The two roofers were very professional. They show up exactly at 8am, were very friendly and fast and hard-workers. They cleaned up as they worked and left my front walkway and porch cleaner than before they started. I was shocked that they completed the work in under two days. My neighbors have been commenting on their work and the outcome of the roof. I have already referred 3 households to Sequoia. Great work! There was a time when they stacked the tile during construction and then there was a long time before the tile was to be laid out - and when we were ready they came. They even installed 2 solar tubes for the same price. Mike is a great guy and down to earth honest man. Also, there were some leaks in the beginning and they come right out to fix them.

I like everything about them with the exception of one worker who came back, because he had left two things undone. He got my air conditioner pipe up, and he did not reattach my vent to my gas water heater. Incredibly, in that same room, I had a friend sleeping in that room. It's two kinds of issues, but the owner was so responsive and so helpful at every point. The owner came out and spent an hour and a half talking. I would absolutely use him again if I needed to.

I contacted Mike at Sequoia Roofing on Monday, June 24th. He came out a few hours later to check the property and give an estimate for a complete new shingle roof to be installed. This was our third estimate. I received the estimate by e-mail within a few hours. The proposed contract was very encompassing and professional. It did not leave me with any unanswered questions. I contacted Mike on Tuesday AM to accept his preposal. Later that day, Mike advised us that he had a small space in his schedule and could start work the next day......on Wednesday, the crew showed up. I met with Juan, the project foreman, he explained what would happen and asked if I had any questions. The crew worked Wed, Thur, and finished everything by mid-day Fri. The work was excellent and everyone was very professional. The clean-up each day and at the end of project was fantastic-more than I could ask for. At the end, Mike went over everything to our satisfaction. I highly recommend Mike and Sequoia Roofing.

Mike Rochholz and his crew were as professional as anyone could expect. Prompt with 1st appointment and quick with e-mail bid. On the date for install his lead crew man was going to be a few minutes late and Mike had the courtesy to call and let me know. Something many people overlook. The demolition, repair and install of roofing materials went smoothly and the crew did as good a job cleaning up as I could expect. They had a huge magnet to pick up the little nails and really seemed interested in doing a through job. Sure, I had to do more cleaning inside the garage after they left but it was far less cleanup than I expected would be required of me and we still find a little nail around but that's not unexpected.

After getting many estimates from many roofing companies, I was thrilled to finally find a company I could trust to do the job right. It was also difficult to find a roofer who would come out to Jamul. When Mike says he services the entire county, he means it. Mike has a wonderful blend of current knowledge of modern roofing materials and methods, coupled with old school business values. He was polite, punctual and very respectful of my time and property. After describing my house and what I wanted, he brought out a color shingle in addition to those I had requested, and wouldn?t you know, his choice was the perfect color. When there was a small hitch in the work schedule, I think Mike took it harder than I, and he just about bent over backwards to make it right. His crew was polite, quiet and respectful. The foreman clearly knew his craft and the pride he took in his work shows. The crew cleaned up after the job and wouldn?t let me so much as pick up a broom. The price was in line with other quotes, but the service was far superior. The Angie's discount was a bonus. If there was any bone to pick, it would be that it definitely would have been helpful to know beforehand that dozens of roofing nails would punch through my freshly painted open eaves, splintering wood and leaving me with the task of patching and painting all of the eaves. While knowing wouldn't have changed the outcome, I would at least have been able to prepare myself. I now know that this is typical with a high wind installation on a roof with open eaves, but the shock of it and utter dismay at the unexpected damage that I now must repair took a little shine off of the joy of finally having a new roof. Despite this miscommunication, I will choose Sequoia for all of my future roofing needs.

Prompt response. Recommended a low cost solution that I could try myself that will probably solve the leak problem.

I had to leave shortly after the roofers began removing the old shingles and returned five hours later with absolutely no evidence that anyone had been near my home except I could see the new valley metal in place. Rained last night and this morning - we're high and dry - only (minor) downside - the roofers arrived an hour late - no hardship as I was told I didn't have to be home for the work to be done.

Mike arrived in a timely fashion, inspected roof in an attempt to find cause of leak. Prompt, professional and knowledgeable.

Requested a quote for replacing a poly-carbonite roof for a Sun room. Rudy was out the next day. He said the company could not do this type of roof but knew of a reliable, honest general contractor that did excellent work. Three hours later I received a text containing the information on the general contractor from Rudy. Rudy was responsive and very professional. I went to Sequoia because of Angie List ratings. I was not disappointed and even impressed. Rudy would be my first choice in the future. Thanks!

There is a small wet spot below the small repaired area when it rained this winter. I contacted Mike this spring. He came and inspected the area and sent his worker to check this area and added some caulk at the joint. It appears that this area was not related to the repaired area and the wet spot could be caused by rain water splashing against the end tile piece. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no charge for this but was done as part of his customer service.

It all went smoothly from start to finish with Mike coming out to meet with us, he provided a quote for service, and he waited patiently while we made the decision. Once begun, the work was completed in the time frame discussed and was cleaned up and appeared to be high quality. We would definitely use their services again but hope to not need them for a while!

We had a different roofer out to fix leaks in our house. Every time it rained they were called out again to redo their work. After four attempts and still not fixed, we called Sequoia. Mike came out and immediately knew what needed to be done. His crew had it fixed in 1 1/2 days. We finally had a rain storm without a leak. We would definitely recommend Sequoia.

The job was supposed to take four or five days. They got it done in three. The crew worked very had and were very professional. They cleaned up the fallen debris every day before they left. Mike took pictures of the roof and kept me informed of ay problems that occurred once the old roof was torn off There were no surprises as I kind of expected that they were there I was very pleased the finished product.r

Contact was easy. I submitted an email form from their website and was contacted within 2 hours. The estimator happened to be in my area so he came over that day to inspect the job and gave me an initial estimate of $550.00. He later sent a contract by email with the stated estimate. Work was to start within two weeks. The following week I got a call that they could do it on Saturday. They did the job as requested. Overall I am satisfied. I gave a B for price because it seemed high although my other estimate from a different company was for $1500 which included removing roofing, replacing the rafters and re-roofing.

I sent an e-mail to the company for a free qoute for my roof work after finding them on Angie's List . The owner arrived at the agreed time to view and estimate necessary work and gave a quotation on the spot and a work date which I agreed as acceptable. A contract stating the work to be done and the price arrived quickly by e-mail in full accord with our discussion. Workmen arrived at the agreed time and efficiently carried all the required work to my entire satisfaction including a complete clean up. I mailed a check for the contract amount to Sequoia Roofing and received an e-mail saying I had not deducted the applicable discount for saying that I had aprroached them after viewing their record on Angie's List, as had been mentioned on the initial meeting , and would send me a check for the discount amount. All round Sequioa Roofing were very professional, courteous and efficient in carrying out the work and in the light of this experience I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone.
